Germination – that’s what this episode is all about. Welcome to Higher Education – a channel brought to you by the chemistry and grow teams over at TPS Nutrients. Germination is simply the process of growing a plant from a seed and it requires 2 things – warmth and water.
There are many different ways to germinate and in this episode we are going to use the paper towel method. This germination method is the way we have done it for years. There may be better ways out there but we have seen amazing results with the paper towel method.

Hi, so 7/10 germinated, but they all have different type tap roots. Should I keep it on the paper towel or get them all in the soil? Should I wait a little bit longer for the rest of the seeds to germinate? It’s only been two days and I know it takes longer for old seeds to germinate.

I always go the paper towel route! that is the best route to me.. so far I have had a 100% germination rate!

Great germination video! The paper towel germination method works best for me and ive had close to 100% rate. I’ve tried germinating directly into the soil, but my success rate using that method is about 50%, at best. I have much more confidence in my plant when I am able to see if popped or not. Thanks for the vid… I can hardly wait to pop another one!
This is amazingly well produced. Wow. Definitely deserves more views. I mean I use a different method, but your way works great too. This footage is incredible too. You must be working with dslrs for everything. The depth of field looks pretty thin. Looks like 60fps cause it’s smooth. Even the macro shots. Wow. I need to step my production up. Lol. Great voice too. I literally watched the whole thing. Wow those hairs in the roots.
