Cotton seed meal is good to make your soils pH lower. If you put to much like or ashes.

I wonder if one plant is stressed if it will signal to the other plants to produce more trichomes

  10. @yvensjrulysse3359 on March 8, 2024 at 7:48 am

can they be used by people who grow in coco?

  11. @Elcap53 on March 8, 2024 at 7:48 am

I like oyster shell, crab meal , feather meal and bone meal for my compost. For first year, second year use blood meal and sea bird guano and my farmyard manures for second year. I treat my compost like it was asparagus and needs time so my compost is used in the spring of the third year before I mix in my super soil

  12. @comfortablynumb9342 on March 8, 2024 at 7:49 am

The content of bat guano is going to be very different depending on if the bats eat bugs, fruits, pollen or something else. Bug eating bat crap should have lots of N and fruit bats should have a lot of P. I think it’s a little risky to just call all bat poo the same. Otherwise great show!

  13. @russellesimonetta9071 on March 8, 2024 at 7:50 am

Interesting,,, but. You can basically take your seed to harvest with food by products we throw away!! Chicken bones in the oven or dehydrator into a grinder voila bone meal, fish bones and shin. Dehydrate or bake dry and grind fish meal. Poptato peels, banana peels apple dryed or baked and ground pottasium and trace minerals . Coffee grounds, egg shells, . Boil and make teas. Water from rinsing rice. Sit for a week covered with cheese cloth, then a quart of milk into that ,again sit for a week, remove the whey. Then mix with ten quarts of water and molassass. Again sit for a week. You have a super colony bacteria jump start for your organic weed grow!!! Just a little mixed into water goes a long way! Wow so much to learn.

One of the things I found to get around is following the ratios and ppms suggested for transition, to early flower, to mid flower, to late flower. If you can get the ratios correct ( or very very close), the plant will be at its closest to max performance. Yes, there are slight differences from cultivar to cultivar. Example:

When switching from veg to flower ( or transition), it is suggested that you have equal parts NPK to ease the transfer from stage to stage. When using dry amendments, your timing and eyes are key.

Well, knowing what the ratios are: 1:3:2 Used for Mid Flower at 900 ppms N150, 450P, 300K. Let’s you accurately create teas that match the exact ratios per each stage.

    Product 1 – Fish Bone Meal 4-12-0

    Product 2- Langbeinite 0-0-22

I bubble 4-12 to 600 ppms. I keep diluted 0-0-22 in a mason jar ( it’s a mined rock, not poop or blood). I add maybe 1/2 tsp of the dilution ( 1 tsp 0-0-22 in 24 oz water, takes about 6-7 days of shaking to completely dissolve)

The mixture comes VERY close to 900 ppms and is the exact ratio of what the plant needs.

Transition I use Dr Earth all purpose 2-2-2 to 900 ppms which is the same ratio of 1:1:1 to follow. First week

    Early flower : 3-5-5 OR 3-5-6 to 900 ppms for 2 weeks

    Late bloom 0-3-3 750ppms ( week 7) 500ppms week 8 with 1 gallon kelp/molasses flush at end of the week c

  19. @markrigg6623 on March 8, 2024 at 7:54 am

Yep he hit it on the head, organic means carbon based. It’s all organic.

  20. @ronevergrow8319 on March 8, 2024 at 7:59 am

Basic fire dry amendment recipe is bone meal and oyster meal for calcium, feather meal & fish meal for Protein and L-amino acids/biostimulants ,, Fulvic acid/rocket fuel/chelator (1/6 ratio of your calcium input = 1 teaspoon to every 2 tablespoon of calcium) and kelp meal for growth hormone etc .
Some rockdust for minerals dont forget worm castings(worm gold plus, it has the rockdust in it save a little money) . You dont need nothing else just play with your ratio’s when entering flower to boost phosphorus load and lower protein-based nitrogen load …….
Terps & flavor come from healthy good genetics not food ( you may be able to add a few extra point on top of the genetics/profile’s but not much. its easy to involution/backwards genetics/quality from poor plant health, salt based Nutz etc = poor growing skillz or poor knowledge)…….
Study this comment and you’ll become a master grower, I stated and used certain lingo in this specific recipe for a reason (calcium + protein-based nitrogen + L amino’s + kelp + fulvic acid/the claw, read about them ) 🤓 ✌.

  21. @thelittleheathenfromSweden on March 8, 2024 at 8:00 am

As someone who have keeps 2 diffrent species of cockroaches as feeders for my tarantulas and scorpions for several years you made me realise I need to slap myself in the face hard, I’ve been throwing away and flushing down their excrement and chitin that might as well have been black gold and diamonds to the plants. 😅 haha
I started watching your videos to learn how to grow and finally pull the trigger on it, and not to say that I haven’t learned some incredible things in that department but honestly the thing that have stuck with me the most is how much incredibly stuff you can actually find a use for if you just recycle.
Your content is absolutely incredible man, keep up the good work and much love and respect from this little heathen in Sweden!✌🌱

  22. @troyivarra8550 on March 8, 2024 at 8:05 am

Your episode are always excellent! When does one amend after making my soil? I built it with down to earth with around 7 amendments & let sit for 2 weeks before using, but after planting.. when does one start to ammend?? How often?

  26. @BrianM-44041 on March 8, 2024 at 8:08 am

There are different kinds of bat guano. Some is high phosphorus and some is high nitrogen, some is a balanced mix. Seabird guano is the same. Some is high n but some such as DTE are all phosphorus 0-11-0. Bat guano is more dependent on diet of the particular bat species (fruits, insects, etc.). Bat guano from bats that eat insects also contains chitin.

My concoction consists of FFOF, Dolomite lime, Bio-Live. Watering with fish shit and Cal-mag and adding recharge once a week.

The plants are thriving and lush green. Gonna Flower using Gaia Green 2-8-4 for the first time. Fingers crossed!

    Bio char, pre-charged. Game changer.

  30. @306choicegenetics4 on March 8, 2024 at 8:12 am

For your plants to take amino acids they need to be in L form so L glutamine for instance will be your natural nitrogen ammendment

  33. @KayFiedler on March 8, 2024 at 8:15 am

Chris you can’t believe how much you helped me go from the worst grower to starting to catch on..I’m 67 with injuries from drunk driver hitting me from behind doing 60 miles an hour, I was stopped waiting for light to change…
My whole life changed, was on a very high level of morphine, then doctor said try pot, I was shocked, but went to dispensary and holy cats , to expensive, so I bought a tent and all that goes with it and started to grow..
Years ago I grew outside near swamps, using swamp water, so easy..
Growing inside was frustrating, NPK, that took awhile, then water, you can imagine the rest.

If it was not for you and Bill Ward, I’d be screwed, you taught me how to grow and after three years, I grew my first plant that actually stood up against anything to buy, so happy now, it keeps me moving and my injuries are starting to get so much better, morphine is cut down so much , I still can’t believe the medical hemp works as good as it did,

Wanted to say thank you so much for giving me back my life…anyone out there struggling with meds, try pot, you might be surprised..one note is to find the right type that agrees with your taste buds, the smell, and of course how it makes you sleep finally….

For awhile I thought my road was ending, now I can see it’s just begun….can’t help to say thank you one more time…over and out…🙏🏽

  34. @gtavtheavengergunnerlegend3340 on March 8, 2024 at 8:15 am

you can get by in veg with Gaia green 444 and 284 in flower with MG organics potting mix and get fantastic results. add diatomaceous earth with calcium at tractor supply and replace perlite with chicken grit (aka crushed granite). works wayyyy better than perlite.

  37. @jimmieallen42 on March 8, 2024 at 8:17 am

Thank you so much for breaking down the meals I’m still learning so I experiment with everything to figure out what the plants enjoy I’ll probably go over this episode again to digest the information better

Can you use just alfalfa scrap from my barn?? Because that’s what I’m doing.

  46. @BrianM-44041 on March 8, 2024 at 8:27 am

Chitin in insect frass is also in crab, lobster, and shrimp shells. Bake themand grind into a powder. Chitin triggers a defensive response in the plants by tricking them into believing they are under attack by insects. Frass is mostly dead bugs and bug 💩. Its more nutritious than the other forms of chitin. I like using shrimp tails becaus theyre easiest to break down and i get them for free. Also midges off my siding caught in spider webs lol.

I take my egg shells and cook them at 375 for 30 mins and pulverize them in a mortar and postal. They seem to break down fine. Also cook apple peels bannana peels, used coffee grounds and make dry amendments and the I just water molasses with water and a compost tea the other time. Seems to work.
