RASTA VIBES! I’ve been very interested in the Rastafarian culture since I got hooked on Bob Marley as a teenager. I mean, wasn’t everyone obsessed with Bob Marley at some point in their lives? He is a living legend!
It turns out that Bob Marley was one of the first people to bring his Rasta culture to all corners of the world. And believe it or not, Rastafari is not just a culture or a social movement — it’s the world’s newest religion that started in the 1930s (as an offshoot of Christianity). Rasta people typically have dreadlocks, listen to reggae music, eat vegan food and smoke a lot of ganja.
I went to Jamaica to learn more about the Rastafarian people, culture, and lifestyle — and I ended up spending 48 hours with an amazing community in the Blue Mountains. Here is the full story! Share this video with your friends if you enjoyed ๐

I would like everybody to note something very important about our beliefs that was stated by one of the first Rasta people that he spoke to. He said that โRasta is the true Christianโ as we accept Christ in his second coming, he also said โChrist is known as the spirit of truthโ, He is referring to the book of John when Christ talks about the father sending another comforter after he leaves who will also be known as the spirit of truth, and he will advocate testify and glorify the words of Jesus Christ the purpose, being for those who didnโt believe in the first advent, as it is necessary to accept the first advent of Christ in order to recognize his second coming as prophesied king, who we view as Haile Selassie the first of Ethiopia this is why we believe that, even though we acknowledge that he is a Christian that testifies about the words of Jesus Christ, and many people who study or fight against our beliefs. Donโt realize that, Iโve known Christians, who know little to nothing about Rastafari beliefs and proclaim the same thing, that the spirit of truth, or the comforter mentioned in that part of the Bible is Christ himself. This is a teaching that is often taught by some of the most intellectual Rastafari elders like Akea Beka for example, I suggest everybody here listens to his music and his interviews.

Sadly had to return home and go back to work after the best vacation I ever had in Jamaica.
The Rastas I met were super chill… and they were shocked by my knowledge of the Holy herb as in Canada marijuana is totally legal. ๐ Great way to make friends!
The food was awesome, I even felt healthier having consumed it.
I’m not a big fan of vegetarianism or healthy eating in general, but they made a potash mix of yams, zucchinis, starchy bananas, spices, and a few plants I couldn’t identify that somehow worked.
I would eat it several times a week if given the chance, and my doctor would probably agree.

Iโm sorry but China has way more healthy food and so does Japan their almost extremely against sugar so their candys and drinks and food ss arenโt that sweet and they eat foods that are protein foods the ppl in China live Avg 103 years old due to them eating so healthy for their entire life
Realistically, you need to put much more time if you want to learn about Rastafari, the conversations that you had were great and uplifting, but thereโs much more to get into to overstand, if you ever visit Oahu, Hawaii, I can take you in and show you more about Rastafari and its impact on the Hawaiian islands culture
I will explain to the author of the video why he sees the star of David everywhere around Rasta people: it is because Haile Sellassie I is of the tribe of Judah. He is a descendent of king David , Judaism is represented by the star and Judaism was practiced for 2000 years before Christianity in Ethiopia. But they converted into a Christian nation after they were baptized, and instructed through servant of the Queen by one of the apostles of Christ as described in the Bible , That is why his imperial majesty whereโs the symbol as a Christian king, many Jewish people donโt understand this, and many Rastas often acknowledge that they are the true Jews as Black people are the true remnant of Israel and the 13 tribes scattered to the four corners of the Earth after going back into Egypt (bondage) during slavers as described in Deuteronomy.

Good video but missed the very basics. I was expecting to hear the names Ethiopia (owner of the green yellow red flag Rastas wave and many other African countries got inspired for Freedom and Independence), Emperor Haileselassie (Ras Teferri, the King which Rastas โworshipโ) and Shashemene (a city in Ethiopia where many Rastas reside outside Jamaica.)
i got a weird question. if Ganja is seen as Holy Sacrament what is the view of Rasta’s on beer (with hops) since hop is family of ganja?
