Withthe bulbs I am using the batwing works great! It does square coverage where as the parabolic is a spot reflector made for bulbs that project away from the base rather than the side (Pointy end throws the brightest) I found when I used a parabolic theplants have a truer "sun" to reach for but they can refract a lot of light with improper bulb design and stretch the top of your plants. Sounds asinine but I know a lot about lights from past obsessions. They lose lumens the worse though. cheers

I am not a cannabis grower but would 1g per watt be based on a 1000watt light using a mix of MH lights for veg and HPS lights for flower with Co2 enrichment? I can not remember where I read that but it keeps bugging my brain after reading your comment. Not tryin to be a jerk just trying to understand better. Cheers eh!
@majorrojamon June 18, 2024 at 11:33 am

I’ve never used a batwing, they any good? I use a parabolic and they rock, my brother’s got a diamond and they have very gd coverage as well.
@Jimmynableon June 18, 2024 at 11:41 am
A lot depends on strain and other factors but 1g per watt with some gd nutes, lights and nice big pots isn’t too hard to get.
@wrongthinkthunkon June 18, 2024 at 11:41 am
that is too funny that is the exact kind I use lol 250 , 400 , 600 dim settings rule 😀 They have an interesting MH bulb that comes with that kit I never seen a MH bulb like that before… It looks like i was designed for the Batwing reflector they come with.

@wrongthinkthunkon June 18, 2024 at 11:52 am
I did more up to date research and discover that new digital ballasts and compact HID bulbs produce up to or more than 150 Lumens per watt all the way down to 70 watts. Dang I remember 150 Lumens was only achievable with Higher wattage ballasts on special bulbs. Looks like the ballast handles a lot of the burn now allowing even cheaper bulbs to be maximized for lumen output. Makes perfect sense to me thanks for the help. Cheers eh!
@arvin5050on June 18, 2024 at 11:52 am
Because when they get big there will only b room for 9
@wrongthinkthunkon June 18, 2024 at 11:54 am
** finish about losing lumens part** If you make a rounded grow room the reflector drops in too it is just as effective if not more effective than a side mounted reflector because it uses all angles of the bulb without light escaping , spiral drain pipe , interior grain silos works awesome with these reflectors from past experience and in these round structures parabolic can not be beat.

@kahlilthemonster the thing with lighting is that they put light out over a square area. the different wattages allow for different sized squares.. so very simply, the larger room you have, the bigger the need for larger bulbs…. the subject is quite deep tho, its impossible to cover all the factors on the youtube comments section….
@Jimmynableon June 18, 2024 at 11:58 am
Depends on strain as well don’t forget. You could try using bigger pots and just 10 plants, experiment but 500g every 4 months whats that work out about an ounce a week? Your not really gna run out.
