  8. K D on March 1, 2023 at 1:11 am

Do you have to reapply fertilizer after you harvest?

  9. Gunslinger on March 1, 2023 at 1:12 am

How does fertilizer work? Does it only work on the one block you put it on or the surrounding blocks as well?

  10. Imperfect Tuber on March 1, 2023 at 1:13 am

I have a question how do you get hopps seeds

  11. Ted Logan on March 1, 2023 at 1:15 am

I am pretty sure that corn and cotton yield 3:1 on tilled soil and 5:1 on fertilized soil. Those two items I never use fertilizer for. I save the fertilizer for mushrooms, hops and anything else that I am short on. Mushroom takes 4 times as long as other crops to mature.

  12. ThePandaWood on March 1, 2023 at 1:16 am

    Mushrooms take the longest

  15. Uní Corn on March 1, 2023 at 1:21 am

I don’t think it’s very logical o use rotten flesh in a fertilizer lmao

  16. FR010 on March 1, 2023 at 1:21 am

Hi i have a question. How many times can you use the fertilizer? Do you have to fertilize the ground again after growing something or can you keep using it after fertilizing it one time(

  17. micahel schmidt on March 1, 2023 at 1:21 am

I’m new to the game and I haven’t found a human turd is something wrong with me

  18. PsychoticusRex on March 1, 2023 at 1:22 am

    Needs revisiting for Alpha 17.

  19. michalis christodoulou on March 1, 2023 at 1:24 am

If you plant with the fertilizer when you collect and want to plant again you have to fertilize the land again or is it an one time only thing? Also, does this method do anything to trees? Im kinda new to the game so sorry if that is a stupid question.

  20. Juan carlos brito on March 1, 2023 at 1:24 am

  30. Tanna Hartley on March 1, 2023 at 1:35 am

So I have a question we built at the lake house, the one in the middle of the water. Well we built into that and we’re wanting to see if you could build a farm on the wood blocks like add dirt and stuff? If so how do you do it?

  31. 0x777 on March 1, 2023 at 1:35 am

A few corrections and additions if I may.

Corn is a special case. For most plants what you say around 1:50 is correct (1:1 in soil, 1:2 in tilled land, 1:3 with fertilizer), corn yields 1:1, 1:3, 1:5. This is not really an oversight, considering that yes, you need as much potatoes as you need corn in the stew, but you also need corn for the grain alcohol.

Since fertilizer is valuable (mostly because you usually would want to use the precious nitrate in gunpowder instead, certainly not for the rotting flesh…) you probably want to salvage as much as you can when you have to move and used fertilizer on your field. If you move, dig up the earth that you used fertilizer on, you get about 1/3 of what you used back that way.

As of A16, it’s a known bug that harvesting may cause the game to lag. We’ve taken a lengthy look into it and it seems to have something to do with server load (harvesting, for some odd reason, seems to put some serious stress on the server). If you experience lag or if your buddies raiding the town complain about lag when you harvest your crops, harvest slower. That allows the server to stay in sync. You can determine the speed by listening whether you hear the "you harvest something" sound. If you don’t hear it, stop for a few seconds. We also noticed that it seems to put less stress on the server for some obscure reason if we till the ground like you did there, with an untilled row between the tilled ones, instead of creating blocks of fields.

    Sweet! Another great video.

  33. VoyagerSlav on March 1, 2023 at 1:42 am

I don’t get it. Why adding information to the rotting flesh, that you can make fertilizer in a cement mixer if there is no fertilizer in a game?
    (I’m a console player)

  34. Gudder Games on March 1, 2023 at 1:42 am

Is there any way to put dirt on a roof, till and fertilize it, and have a farm worth having? Only thing I can manage is planting seeds I find in placed sod, which works like untilled earth.

  35. Bob Smith on March 1, 2023 at 1:43 am

The fertilizing of the ground can be complicate if you are trying for max fertilizer in the ground. It illuminates the 3-4 and makes it always produce 4 but, it’s not easy and here’s why. The ground isn’t made of blocks but, small triangles to produce the diamond and angular shapes of the ground/ dirt/ rocks. To reach max fertility you have to till with fertilizer in every little triangle. I achieve this to the best of my ability by using small circular motion while tilling in front of me with fertilizer. Once I am done I go back over the entire crop a second time to be sure. After you get really familiar with fertilizing you will kind of be able to see where you missed by the shapes and brightness of the white fertilizer patches. It helps if the ground you pick is as flat as possible. Happy farming!

How do you turn coffee into seeds?

  37. Cowboy 7c Cullen on March 1, 2023 at 1:45 am

Do I have to KEEP fertilizing each time I plant seeds, or does fertilizing once take care of the ground? fertilizing yucca is a joke. In the REAL world yucca will almost grow on pavement. I know this because I live where yucca/Spanish daggers grow.

  38. Sadochrist on March 1, 2023 at 1:45 am

    Can zombies damage farms?

  39. Gamer_Richard on March 1, 2023 at 1:45 am

Old vid, but I gotta ask… I have a base in the ashy biome place, will you be able to farm on that kind of land?

  40. innCidious on March 1, 2023 at 1:45 am

  43. Tao Stone on March 1, 2023 at 1:50 am

Thank you this video helped me solve my farming problem.

  44. LordZoth6292 on March 1, 2023 at 1:50 am

So, 1 fertilizer to 1 tilled land? No need to double fert it?

  45. César Arnau Segarra on March 1, 2023 at 1:51 am

Like number 1000! Thanks for the video, I started playing again yesterday with some friends after years without touching the game. This was pretty helpful.

Iv been seeing people have there farm on top of there base how do u put dirt down

  47. 5 Percenter V Familiar on March 1, 2023 at 1:58 am

    Trees

  48. Tizona Amanthia on March 1, 2023 at 1:58 am

since farming is still essentially the same, still good info, i do want to point out that crop rotation is not as you describe it, and far as i know, not neccessary. minecraft’s Terrafirmacraft actually did some crop rotation needs, basically all the seeds have a "nutrient" A, B, or C and would deplete the majority of that nutrient in a growing season. so it behooves you to plant a different nutrient loving plant in the slot every year so they always have enough nutrients to grow. this is one of the reasons it’s done in the Real world. others involve pests, and diseases. but nutrient balance is important too.

  49. Phil Bennett on March 1, 2023 at 1:58 am

I was wanting to place a most 2 blocks high 3 blocks wide around my base how do get the water to stack 2 high any help please

  50. Darth Tempest on March 1, 2023 at 1:59 am
