Only 1 problem scotty. I don’t want Google, or any other big tech being anywhere near my products.

  2. Jerry G. on September 10, 2023 at 8:09 pm

The new vehicles have amazing technology. Very complicated, but enhances safety. I have a new 2022 SUV. It is amazing to drive and the technology employed is amazing.

  3. Scott Huber on September 10, 2023 at 8:11 pm

It’s fun to watch Scotty’s older videos from 11 years ago and notice how much they’ve changed. Gosh, thank you Scotty. Scotty the Saint.

Dude these new video format videos are fire

Driver assists are plain dangerous, they have the opposite effect on driver behaviour over time. Once a person becomes accustomed to the car essentially driving for them, and saving their butt from crashes, they will jump in to a "dumb" car and forget all those features do not exist… More crashes will ensue. I don’t mean actual safety features like ABS and airbags etc, more like wee lights that tell you a car is in the next lane. The more a car assists the driver, the worse off they’ll be.

My wife’s four year old Lincoln has drowsiness detection. Works pretty much the same way as what you describe.

  7. Hunter Lee on September 10, 2023 at 8:14 pm

I learned that you can press and hold the distance button for your adaptive cruise control for 5 seconds and it will take it out of adaptive cruise and put it in regular cruise

  8. Samuel Leung on September 10, 2023 at 8:18 pm

you can roll down the windows without starting the car??

  9. Bets on September 10, 2023 at 8:18 pm

I am quite surprised you are now a Nissan fan. What happened with you always saying how great Toyotas were?

  10. Russell Bergersen on September 10, 2023 at 8:19 pm

I’m surprised you didn’t talk about new cars that generate and report personal data about your driving habits and locations to the manufacturer. Easy way to void the warranty if you off road.

  11. Oriehi Raphael Paul on September 10, 2023 at 8:20 pm

Does the Nissan feature he mentioned also apply to Infinitis?

  12. Josh Hayl on September 10, 2023 at 8:20 pm

🔵 @ 0:45 you instruct to turn the key "Counter-clockwise", yet the video at that VERY moment shows the key being turned clock-wise!
    Yuh try’n tuh conFUSE SOMEBODY??…MMMMM?

  13. Coasterdude02149 on September 10, 2023 at 8:20 pm

And yet again, Jaguar gets shafted. Jaguar also has the drowsiness sensor and will display a cup of coffee on the cluster panel. It’s activated by drifting into other lanes

  14. Teyah Bellah on September 10, 2023 at 8:21 pm

I was happy and surprised to learn of the remote window roll down feature!

  15. Fastjoe Corrigan on September 10, 2023 at 8:21 pm

    Brake assist is a nightmare

  16. Michael Floyd on September 10, 2023 at 8:21 pm

    Why isn’t Scotty yelling?

  17. Richard Bean on September 10, 2023 at 8:21 pm

I love my heads up display – it also keeps my eyes on the road.

Emergency ejaculation operation… my car automatically stops when it sees prostitutes. Ejaculation search function… I ask Google maps to find red light districts wherever I go

  19. btqy on September 10, 2023 at 8:23 pm

My 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 came with a drowsy alert system. It will make a big bang if you get too close to an object.

  20. no worries mate on September 10, 2023 at 8:23 pm

I had a GMC 3/4 ton 4×4 with two tanks. It had a fill neck on both sides. What a pain.

  21. Eric Mason on September 10, 2023 at 8:23 pm

I had a 1999 Lincoln Town Car but I had an auto accident and it’s now gone. The Lincoln had auto dimming mirrors. The mirrors would dim when another car’s headlights hit them. I loved this feature!!!

  22. Gunzmith Dragonkind on September 10, 2023 at 8:24 pm

nad now the government owns your car …you just pay 50 grand rent to use it…plus the car spies on you for the government and insurance companies.

  23. GS Auto on September 10, 2023 at 8:26 pm

but scotty, ford already did all this stuff. lincolns even parallel park. this is 6 year old tech now.

  24. Linda Dudas on September 10, 2023 at 8:28 pm

Why are all these features on foreign car is it because they don’t know how to drive without help

  25. oober goober on September 10, 2023 at 8:31 pm

I loathe adaptive cruise control and the fact that every time you start up a Toyota you have to turn it off. The computer doesn’t save that setting.

Wanna cut out distracted driving? Make all vehicles manual transmission only. Love my 2010 Mazda3 5spd. No cruise. No damn screen. Just a radio and cd player 👍

  26. Glenn Laycock on September 10, 2023 at 8:31 pm

rear cross path was a surprise – kind of always knew I was apparently relying on "the force" to trust no one was coming or would stop when they saw me backing up. Now that the car is looking I’m amazed how much is moving back there even when my back up lights are on.

The roll down the window features is a curse. I’ve had it go off when squatting. This happen a few times dure a rain shower.

  29. Christian Milkes on September 10, 2023 at 8:35 pm

This idea of self driving doesn’t go with me, make me feel unsafe. I prefer cars hay you actually can control. I love driving and I enjoy when I am in control. Still loving Manual cars. I like cameras and sensors in the mirrors and enjoy sun roof and quite rides. I usually use more my phone phone for the gps than the car gps.

  30. Dustin Green on September 10, 2023 at 8:35 pm

Hey Scotty I want to thank you for the fuel additive suggested it works great I use gumout

  31. Nanette Sage on September 10, 2023 at 8:35 pm

Although it’s not new technology, I found that on my 1998 RAV4, if I turn my key twice when unlocking the driver door, it unlocks all the doors. None of owners of old RAV4’s I have talked to knew they could do this.

  32. Curtis Edie on September 10, 2023 at 8:35 pm

The gas cap is always in the direction that the needle points when it’s empty 😉

Nissan 2018 has text massages . alert

  34. omar15964 on September 10, 2023 at 8:40 pm

Oh well it seems that my fuel indicator is faulty as it shows it is on the right side but infact the filler is on the left side (Colorado Australia)

  35. Irene Voce on September 10, 2023 at 8:42 pm

Very helpful and very well done thank you

  36. MG John on September 10, 2023 at 8:43 pm

Good RTFM advice there Scotty. Read The ******** Manual…

I owned my Chines built MG6 for nearly a whole year before I accidentally discovered it had power fold Door Mirrors!.. Move on a further few weeks when I forgot to unfold them by pressing the switches and guess what, once I got the car up to about 30 mph, they auto unfolded.

Cue one of your big laughing animal smile images top right corner … 👀🤣🤣

Not only that, I "discovered" the auto-hill-hold-release the first time I stopped on a steep incline! … Cue, Huh? What the hell is happening? Found it annoying at first because of the short delays involved. Now I understand it I can live with it and use to to full advantage.

So yes… RTFM! Even if it is like the one that comes with the Chinese MG6 and is as thick and as many pages as "War and Peace" .. 👀🤣🤣

  37. Brian Jones on September 10, 2023 at 8:47 pm

Scotty: things about your car the manufacturers don’t want you to know about. The features: horn honking to alert you your tires are full. An icon on the instrument gauge which is pretty easy to figure out without having to ask anyone. A gas cap holder that would just be extra expense unless people actually used it.

  38. Bite-Sized Shorts on September 10, 2023 at 8:47 pm

The drowsy alert doesn’t work correctly on my car. It beeps at me at random times when I’m wide awake and driving as straight as possible. I don’t know what it’s picking up on.

  39. MentallyillMama on September 10, 2023 at 8:48 pm

I got a few questions for you Scotty Kilmer. I have a 2004 dodge stratus rt coupe that my mom is giving me, it has issues. Should I get it fixed or trade it off? Is it a good car? I hope this gets to you and you can answer my questions, Thank you in advance!

  40. Denny Fisher on September 10, 2023 at 8:48 pm

I gotta try the window thing. I have a 2019 Jeep Latitude Plus with black leather interior and she gets extremely hot in the summer.

  41. Reurbo on September 10, 2023 at 8:50 pm

I liked getting power windows and cruise control in my car. Maybe my next one will have even 1 or 2 of these from the video

  42. Leo Ryan on September 10, 2023 at 8:53 pm

Hands free or not you are just as distracted talking hands free as you are using the phone..fact..

  43. JJR G on September 10, 2023 at 8:54 pm

always hit the like great segment

  44. Leo Ryan on September 10, 2023 at 9:00 pm

I never use my cruise control, don’t trust it. so I sure as hell won’t be using the intelligent cruise control..

  45. David Lee Kalb Jr. on September 10, 2023 at 9:00 pm

I was told, the fuel fill inlet was changed to reduce the loss of ,"drive off" with out pay. I’m talking, before the 2000’s.

  46. Ed So on September 10, 2023 at 9:00 pm

Infotainment systems, such as Android Auto or Apple Auto, have been found to be susceptible to being hacked so there is a danger that some stranger outside the car may take over operations of auto. WikiLeaks published leaked CIA reports of this "tool" for possible assassination. Accusations and suspicions that Rolling Stone reporter and editor Michael Hastings, a well known critic of Obama administration and gov’t surveillance, death in auto "accident" in California on 2013 may have been caused by hacking of infotainment system of car.

  47. xXBam BamXx on September 10, 2023 at 9:00 pm

Mercedes had window regulation thru the key fob in the early 2000 even late 90’s👌

  48. Josh Hayl on September 10, 2023 at 9:01 pm

🔵 @ 8:25 when you said "OK Google" MY Google-Assistant stopped the video and asked me what I wanted!!……Well, I played that segment back SEVERAL times with the SAME results!! (I’d sure like to hear from anybody else this happens to!)
Scotty, I don’t think you and I sound ANYTHING-alike and the Google-assistant is ‘SUPPOSED’ to recognize MY voice! (after all,
I ‘Trained’-it), …so this is NOT supposed to HAPPEN!

  49. Nigel John on September 10, 2023 at 9:02 pm

Scotty, most modern cars don’t even have a fuel caps any more, it all all mechanically open, and lock fuel ports now.

  50. Tardisius on September 10, 2023 at 9:06 pm

My 2021 Honda CRV has No inner gas cap….only the Outer Door..=))
