I think the biggest mistake was that if you cleaned the bucket u wouldn’t had the nutrition problem

Back in the day, we’d water our soil plants, under shop light fluorescents, walk to primary school, up hill in snow both ways, and return home thinking we were onto something good.

Just lost power for almost a week last month and just dropped the water level to half air under the basket and everything was fine. They all started flowering though.
Plant is too big for this little space, clip it. Plant wont die in 24 hours if aeration doesnt work, how did you come up with this bullshit? And the Brown spots are calcium def, not Manganese or what did you say.. And definetly not ready to harvest.
powdery mildew is everywhere. People let it go and don’t properly take care of it. That is why it’s important to weed gardens and keep brush low. So good bacteria and fungus can take the space and keep it from growing in the first place. Two years ago was the first time I ever seen it. It could depend on your home heating and how your basement is. Look for white growing on the wood. If it’s their and you have a blower and furnace. Your place has to be zapped. And your HVAC has to be sterilized with filters changed regularly. Opoxy basement floor after, the walls, paint the wood underneath. Radiant heat is best IMO -Neat idea anyways. We use to build them with pizza boxes and used 300w EQ CFL. The 300w CFL EQ would make a yellow brown stain around it’s integrated ballast. That couldn’t of been healthy. Was shocked that everyone was wrong about those lights working. The new LED boards are sick.

i disagree that autos need less nutes. i know that some people say that, but imo its false.
Buy a PPM meter and you will know how much food is in the water 800 for vegging 1100 for flowering three to four hundred for seedling
WRONG..nutriens 0 in this stage..the first 3,4weeks.
You should of took the buckets off & let it finish off but def looked good I’m going to have to try the space bucket method

I’m on my 2nd week of my 1st grow. I don’t think I’ll be able to cut them. Think I’ll have to have someone else do it I’m already to attached lol.
I don’t like this method. Maybe the dwc is a good idea, but the extra buckets is clearly not a benefit. Lack of air circulation, lack of pruning access, cramped space, possibilities of mold development….too many negatives. Maybe try dwc with a scrog method, photoperiod plants, and a tent. I’d bet you could have gotten much more. Your buds were also underdeveloped and didn’t look dense enough.
Still though, despite the obstacles, your yield was actually not bad….so…probably take the good and ditch the bad.

My power was out from Sun night to Wed morning during the Texas deep freeze, I had to just set them in front of the window for a few days and they seem to be ok
Preparing for my first grow. Been reading and watching all you folks out there and I am still seeing new ideas. This was very interesting, well documented and narrated. My question is the power outage. You were moving plant into a dry/empty bucket every hour so plant wouldn’t drown? My build has redundant systems for..what I thought was every difficulty, but hadn’t thought of that. Would you have needed to do that if you had an independently powered
air-stone setup? Thanks

Next time I recommend leaf stripping completely before starting flower you’ll definitely get a better quality that way a few of the top leaves will grow back within the first few weeks
