Cannabis communicates nutrient needs! Huge Secret to DWC success!
Cannabis communicates nutrient needs! Huge Secret to DWC success!
I discuss how to communicate nutrient needs with cannabis plants through parts per million readings, why a chiller is necessary in Deep water culture and where I keep my PH. I use the terms TDS and PPM a little freely, they are the same thing. (Total Dissolved Solids, Parts Per Million) Here are some general starting guidelines until uptake info is attained. Make sure Roots are touching water when placed into system.
Clones just into system start at 200-300 PPM then make adjustments after plant begins to uptake. PH 5.8 Throughout grow. I use General Hydroponics FloraNova one part series. I change the nutrients every 2 weeks.
Dedication! 👏🏽💪🏽🤙🏽 beautiful canopy!
this was maybe the best thing ive learned about dwc,so than you and greetings from Finland, 🇫🇮, across the pond 🇫🇮
What’s it mean when ur ppm stays the same for a week now i think the ppm went down 10
Cant watch this. Age verification. YT/Google wants my credit card number or id. Wont give them. Other cannabis related videos ı can watch but not this video. :/
PH is The Potential Hydrogen Bonding ability,,, if That Ain’t Right… Nothing is.
if it Works… it Ain’t Broken,,, PH Drops when Water Levels Drop…
i Bet you can’t Measure the Nutrient Absorbsion level by the Plants at all…or over two weeks so… as long as they have the right stuff at full Rez,,, when you add fresh water,,, it’s good to go,,, PH Balance Required before you walk away… or well… it’s all on you.
As The Water Evaporates" PH goes Down and PPM goes up… if you start with 6.5 Fresh… it swings down to 5.5 quick ,,, Each light cycle and ppm goes from Starting at about 6oo,,,, to 11oo in the process… For Balance… id stay light on the PPM,,, any more than 1100 is a waste. so,,, The Flux is Easy to Notice,,, Less is MORE ,,,
Circulating the Rez will keep all that stable … within the Rez… making is Easy to adjust…
so The Rez is an Everyday Thing…
more air the better and H2O2 is a safe way to Keep everything Safe… Ozone by air intake works toooooooo.
You my friend are the MJ PPM Wizard!!! What you mention here in this video is absolute Genius.
Badass!
Holy-shitttttttt moment!!! I’ve watched this video at least 7 times now I finally get it!! Thank you!!!!!
Hey if you ever have time would you write down how much of each of the 3 pet nutrients you put in in veg, bloom and flower? Thank you that would be awesome also what chiller are you using ? Link maybe ? Thank you! Great grow
What if ppm stays the same? I’m in a flood and drain bucket system (5gallons) in hydroton. Ppm is staying the same for days and ph goes up by .1 over the course of a day or two. Please help
So if on monday night its ph 6.2 like they love in dwc…..and tues morning the sample from monday says 6.0….and the res now on tues morning is 6.2 still u know the res ph is going up cos the plants r making it do so… I would guess it needs cal mag till ph goes to 6.1 or 6.0 and monitor it hourly it will settle or rise again…if rises again give silicon and grow or bloom or cal mag til the ec which I know will be a touch low hits 1.4 or whatever its demanding presently;)))
You make this hard .
I’m just starting December question what should my ppm be to start. Like when I go to put my sprout into my res.
I just started DWC what’s the easiest nutes regimen for DWC for a beginner I’m starting w 8 inch rooted clones?
What nutrient line do u run in dwc?
What is an ideal ppm for seedling veg and flower stage f? And how can i adjust it ?
Awesome Tip.
Thank you big help
When you say they want more or less nutrients by the ppm. So if the ppm had of been lower in this video when you add back that gallon of water they drank do you mean you would have added a stronger dose of nutes to said gallon of water or do you wait till you clean out the system and then mix stronger dose?
Sorry for the questions but this is my first grow with dwc.
Cheers and thx for the vids
Thanks brother good info.
Just found this channel, you have me as a supporter for a lifetime:)happy Christmas from Finland 🇫🇮
Quick question: since different temperature give a different PH results, our PH tester normally want us test the ph around 77F degree but DWC required water temperature about 60F degree, which PH level will be a lot different than 77F, so should we let PH results under 60F or 77F?
Frozen Water bottle in the reservoir is a cheaper option over a chiller
Thanks so much literally so concise
How often do you top up your rez?
For anyone else out there like myself who uses the common yellow cheap pH meter (vivosun and the like): Test often with the old school solution color scale test. My pH pen will vary on readings and doesn’t keep calibration. I was having problems and figured out that sucker was reading 1.4 points high. I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one.
Great and informative video, thank you.
Twisted leaf tips =ph at 5.6 or lower….death starts happening at anything at all below 5.5…..
Whole leaf twist=ph took high….like above 6.4….death starts happening at 6.55….ideally….you need to stay within 5.65…..and 6.35…..;))))
Basically counter its rising or lowering of ph in the res with the opposite ph nutrient…..clue=silicon and pk boost should be the only ones that are ph up type of additives ….it will stay balanced only if the ppms are spot on;)))
Mate, hope u doing fine! I got a question, I got 2x 20L DWC, with advanced nutrients solution. Do I have to follow the dosage from the AN or I have to adapt it to my DWC? Do I have to swap the ferts every 7 days? Or i could do like u and leave it for 2 weeks? Looking over the ppm and oh every day. Still reading and finding out stuff, bu the only thing i need to start now is to understand the weekly usage of solo DWC systems (got no reservoir like u do for nutrients and so). Regards
How do you manage to keep your ph at 5.8..my ph in reservoir is increasing everyday..please suggest
Hello
HAVE 4 plant in one bucket 1 of plant gets to big can I splitt them to own bucket and survive.?
I am using ppms at 400 & getting tip burn but you using double that how is that.?
Fun to hear such explanations before starting the process, does anyone know a recommended forum where you can ask questions? I just want to start Dwc
What is a safe nitrates ppm . im new to the dwc system i just got basic aqaurum test strips that only read up to 200 on the nitrates and its definitely reading 200 . is that to much ?
i wrap my buckets in silver bubble insulation ,really helps with temps also your pumps air in hose ,put it in coolest place to draw cool or hot air ,depending on season, peace
Dayyyum! Thank you for sharing that info. That really is genius! Ill add that ive found you can really push them but i will definitely study this concept. Science solves everything. Love when people stop winging and start thinking. Thanks
What gph pump are you using to return the chilled water to your buckets thank you?
Got another one for u…..
Keep the res sample from one day to the next and before u re sample see if the old sample dropped or went up in ph on it’s own compared to what the res did regarding the new sample and judge off that if the res is dropping or rising in ph as if its trying to drop….it want something that would usually drop ph like grow or bloom or cal mag do…..or if it’s going up might want silicon which usually is ph up anyway….also taking into account what u know of the plant and what its leaves r saying ;)))
Are you on ppm 500 or ppm 700 for the blue lab pen?
Bingo!
You made it into my how2 library.. thanks bro.
If your PPM is high you add Ro water or Change res ?
Very informative bro
But you cant tell what it is takeing from the feed . . The plant cud be sucking up all the n but u wont know cuz yout topping up with a mix of nuets …. imagine needing alcohol and someone keeps giving you beer insted of vodka
what about when your ph goes up
That is an amazing concept thank you I been looking for that gem 💎
Awesome video man if anyone’s watching and can’t afford a chiller / growing in single bucket dwc system beneficial bacteria for preventing root rot and other high temp problems are amazing also h202 peroxide is great for dealing with those problems if they do occur.
Ohh my how did i miss this poor babys thanks brother good info got to be easier on my end lol
