My partner has schizophrenia and I don’t really know how to help them so I am trying as much as I can to learn about it and document myself but hah… I’m scared I’m not doing enough. Anyone with Schizophrenia or a partner with schizophrenia knows how I should handle this situation?

My older sister was diagnosed with schizophrenia around the age of 18, my parents were immigrants and were not aware of all options of treatment for this illness. The doctor just kept prescribing her with antipsychotic drugs. It’s been 10 years since she’s been on those drugs with very little change, if anything I think it made her condition worse overtime. As far as I’m aware the GP never referred her for any form of CBT and only when I made a complaint, then he went to refer her to a “psychiatrist” who was no help at all and even told me that my sister will never fully recover and that the sister I once knew will never resurface. I’m thinking of even sueing this medical clinic for medical negligence. This video was very informative, thank you for the video!
My mom has been suffering from paranoid schizophrenia for the last two years. She is 60 y/o. Beginning of this years it’s reached its peak. Nowadays she always talks with delusional character. I don’t know when she’ll be cured or reach a normal stage. The whole family is worried about her.

My father had a bipolar disorder and mild schizophrenia he had brain atrophy at the end, he had renal failure and his tablets consuming capability failed which lead to demise.
People with schizophrenia say that they see some shadows who speak just ure describing them in the video more or less they say that those shadows are threatening them and they have a personality on their own and they are trying to control.them and inflict fear on them and are telling the ones affected that if you tell others about us we will hurt you and thats why this disease is mysterious and unsolwed but who are those beings, u could search about it more from a spiritual prespective they are spiritual beings made of energy who live around us and try to control people that fear them i will not go into deeper detail but some kinds of religions and spiritualism have other answers and ways of healing these diseases since they know who those beings or shadows are and how to oppose them and keep them away .

Nah, in low-income Hispanic culture it’s best just to keep your mouth shut. You are more likely to be bullied and mocked in the area where I’m from (up-tight religious older gen) or kept on a cocktail of medications from big pharma money pocketing federally grant-funded clinics/doctors. I saw several friends, neighbors, and patients on these unfortunate journeys.

It’s been more than 10 years and my mother also has schizophrenia but the way it affects her is a bit different. She didn’t tell my father for 2-3 years which led to delay of treatment and affected her even more. When my father finally started noticing that yes there’s something wrong, she was taken to the doctor but untill then she lost the control over her mind. I was only 4 or 5 and I don’t have many memories of us being happy together since at the time she was just not there anymore, she was just completely lost and I couldn’t help her. We struggled a lot with everyday work and my older sister from a young age had to look after me. I don’t have any memories of her (my mother) where she actually was okay. We are still struggling but we are just taking care of each other. My mother is always talking to someone by herself, tells me how some people visited her when no one came home. She sometimes asks me which year is it and then says it’s 2003 or 1999. She sometimes even forgets that I exist. It’s been so hard but seeing her struggling knowing what she’s going through hurts even more. We know we can’t be of much help except loving her and helping her as much as we can.
I hope the discrimination against people who are suffering mentally can stop. I have seen people look at us in a weird whenever they see my mother outside. It’s infuriating and sometimes makes me feel like crying.
I hope everyone’s safe and if anyone’s suffering from this or and other problem can be happy.

I fear I may have it. For 3 years now i think I’m being watched constantly, even when completely alone. First it started out as fictional characters and now it’s real people. I’ve always known it wasn’t real, but recently I’ve had 2 psychotic episodes where I was convinced I was being watched and something WAS out to get me. And honestly, I cant tell you if I actually am in danger or not. I also suffer extreme paranoia and sometimes at night I can’t get out of bed because I fear something in the room will get me.
I’m healing from the bully abuse.

I’m not an expert, but in the case of schizophrenia, acute post-traumatic stress disorder, brain atrophy due to chronic post-traumatic stress disorder, etc. I suspect that people with bipolar disorder are more likely to come from comparisons with their surroundings.
