Please be aware of getting compost from your Yard Waste Recycle Center, we did once and it was contaminated with persistent herbicides, and we had to throw it All in the trash, a truck load. We make most of our soil/compost and it is easy.
it gets washed down into the water table. Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma isn’t all the damage it is doing. I don’t drink tap water for a number of reasons including the presence of cryptosporidium in our water source. I knew some kids whose dad got dosed with Agent Orange. They weren’t as lucky as Marilyn Manson. they both had defects, deafness and some cognitive deficits. I buy Culligan water and wash my vegetables in it, cook them and pasta and rice in it, drink and brush my teeth with it. You can’t trust tap water. The annual report isn’t accurate. in 2014 or so we had a breach of our microfiltration system. My town in Kansas is population 9,000. I was SO surprised that they ran our city water through micro filters (it’s all you can do for cryptosporidium) we were notified via mail on day 59 of what had to be a 60-day window to tell the public. Then, it all became clear. The hospital didn’t know about the breach until after the sick would have presented and if any deaths, there would be no connection. Like a lot of pathogens and chemicals, the EPA doesn’t require the testing for crypto BUT if your city does, they build up credits and whenever they exceed the limits on any the EPA-mandated list of things to test for that would result in a violation, the city can apply those credits against what would be a violation and get them down below the violation levels. It doesn’t mean it’s not in the water, it just means on paper it looks like the water is testing good when it really isn’t.
Absolutely agree on the comments , however the emotional delivery makes it very unpleasant for those who understand , but makes it unheard , by those who don’t understand, and they will not listen and use the emotional content to discount. The emotional input does not help the cause at all. You are factually accurate and the conclusions are all true, but the emotional barrage makests it unusable for sending to other gardeners that will discount the facts presented as a "rant" by a upset deranged unbalanced out of control personage ……. so to reach more people we need to present the facts non emotionally.
Love your videos and even buy Josh’s products, but damn hes a typical cali flake. Ball of anxiety,needs TDs meds. 😉

Unfortunately a lot of the OMRI certified brands in big box stores are recently purchased by larger corporations that sell deadrients.
So you’re not only supporting deadrient companies by buying these organics…
You’re also supporting their takeover of these old school brands. They’re just gonna buy up more and more until DTE Gaia Green and the like are all owned by Miracle Gro.

It was so annoying hearing each other talking over one another. Where was the director of this video? It was hard to filter out but what I learned is to stay away from chemicals and purchase fertilizer and soil products that are OMRI Certified. Keep up the good work John.

I don’t have access to a pickup truck, so must purchase soil amendments in plastic bags…however, I squirt them clean with the hose over compost pile, and dry them on a garden stake. Then I re-use them for garbage bags since our municipal waste pick up requires all trash to be in a plastic bag (we do minimize trash as much as possible but certain items like broken light bulbs, worn shoes, and vacuum cleaner bags need to be in trash)
Josh and I sound very similar when talking about this. Even down to the shaking p/o voice.

I say we should focus on solutions not problems. Be aware of problems but most of our energy and conversation (and actions) should be on providing practical solutions. Anyone who doesn’t understand that our country is all about profits over people has either not been paying attention or is living in denial.

In a world where people actually loved and honored each other and the Mother 🌎 we all share, the moment any of these substances were determined to be toxic to planet and people they would be banned. This systematic destruction of our own environment is something unique to humans. Besides a few insects. Are we not more evolved than insects? On a side note: The excuse people have for not buying organic produce is cost, well, if we let all of the toxic chemical crap rot on the shelves it wouldn’t take long for these practices to become a thing of the past. We are in charge of this revolution and education is key. So, good for Josh for letting his justified anger out on these scumbag criminals. If it makes people uncomfortable, GOOD! People need to be hit over the head with the TRUTH! I’d love to see educational groups outside the doors of every store selling this poison to the ignorant masses. 💚

Home Depot sucks in Canada. We Canadians talk a lot of shit about organics, and they have nothing for us. No Southern AG products, no gaia green, nothing but scotts, and schultz and all the typical poisons, and they overcharge on all their bags of so called soil or growing mediums. Seed spreaders are about the only thing they keep priced in the range of the other places like Walmart.
Josh! You mentione Neo Nicotinoids. I heard about them yrs ago when people were on a save the bees kick. Can you do a deep dive video on that chem please? I’d appreciate your personal filtered take on it, as well as the science of it. I am not much of a reader but I would listen to you explain it.
