When the government doesn’t give the people what they want is when we start having problems. They keep saying they want to keep it out of hands of minors but yet you can technically drink alcohol at a bar at any age as long as you’re with a parent. I’m not saying weed is healthy but it’s damn sure not as poisonous as alcohol.

Hardcore Conservative here; there is no reason marijuana should be criminalized while there are gas stations with booze and cigarettes around every corner. Legalize it!

With them blocking voters on this, see if the get elected next time. Texas has gone the way of a Dictatorship that needs addressing, by vote or violate action. I fought against dictatorship just to come home and see it looking me in the face. 😠🖕 The Texas government.

Meanwhile Texans are harboring illegal fugitives, and never go to prison, lose their homes, or businesses over harboring illegal aliens.

  23. Mario Alberto :P on June 27, 2023 at 4:56 pm

What the, what do they mean a bill has passed, its been that way already, Its still BS! that means you get caught w/ a joint, and you get 250$ fine and what the heck do you think is going to happen if someone doesn’t pay that fine, its still unnecessary trouble.
The point is to decriminalize Marijuana, and to stop cartels from profiting from the plant, isn’t that what’s better for everyone.
And who the heck do you think we are going to buy the weed from. Isn’t that stupid, its like saying "YES you can buy pot from the "black market" but do not posses more than a ounce", REALLY, Everything yall rather do, than letting people freely smoke this plant, Wow.

  24. Reginald Berry on June 27, 2023 at 4:59 pm

if a bunch of white guys can run around and make money off of it no one should be going to jail. These guys are hypocrites.

  25. AG Aquatics on June 27, 2023 at 5:00 pm

About Time Texans are Grown Adults if they can carry a firearm in Texas and drink and everything else why can’t Texans be trusted to make adult decisions about if they want cannabis or not listen to the people of Texas they are the government the people who make their choices heard

  28. Amy Sorrell on June 27, 2023 at 5:01 pm

Humans have been using cannabis for over 10,000 years with no casualties and it is still illegal, but we have a bar or a liquor store on every corner, right by the guns and ammo shop. Yeehaw! 🤦‍♀️

The new Misdemeanor Marijuana Diversion Program, which takes effect on March 1, 2017, will divert all misdemeanor marijuana cases — involving up to four ounces — out of the criminal justice system, instead redirecting low-level drug offenders into a decision-making class.Provided that the suspect completes the four-hour course, he or she will walk away from the incident with no criminal record. Crime labs will not be required to test any evidence seized, which will be destroyed upon completion of the course.

  31. riotpb10 on June 27, 2023 at 5:06 pm

Let me get this straight. They reduced the penalties but you can still get arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for having a single joint?

  32. Santa Fe on June 27, 2023 at 5:09 pm

Yah, and it’s not toxic or lethal, you know, like if you drink too much alcahol, after you become an alcoholic after listening to the devils tell you it was safer than weed, not to mention all the people out there dead by the highway, dam bass turds, be honest 🙀😹🐈🕊️🙏

  33. JUAN RAMOS on June 27, 2023 at 5:09 pm

  35. David on June 27, 2023 at 5:11 pm

Here in Florida, it’s only legal ‘medicinally’, but I can buy up to two and a half ounces per month at $110 per ounce. (THC = 24%, no sales taxes)

  37. Joe Smartballs on June 27, 2023 at 5:15 pm

English Common Law says all laws must be clearly defined in English or they are automatically void. Marijuana is a spanish word and illegal to use in any British Common Law Court like in America, Australia, and Canada. We speak english in court. It is racial discrimination for any law enforcement to use the spanish word marijuana, or the Arabic word Cannabis. So all marijuana laws are Automatically Nule and Void in every American Court. Marijuana and Marijuano is a person or people who are high. Marijuana is a person and not a plant. Molta is spanish for weed. So again marijuana does not define a plant.

  39. ghettomex92 on June 27, 2023 at 5:17 pm

  40. Zach on June 27, 2023 at 5:18 pm

If they are going to start to back pedal on the laws, they should legalize it and tax it and use those tax dollar to finish the fucking 35 construction

  41. F A on June 27, 2023 at 5:18 pm

I think its bullsh!t how they are even putting people in jail over a bag of weed. They should make it legal to grow and have in your possession. I dont smoke it but come on there is way more illegal drugs out there.

  47. Ryan Calhoun on June 27, 2023 at 5:21 pm

  48. urmailman on June 27, 2023 at 5:21 pm

Legalize cannabis already and concentrate on cracking down the real "madness" which is fentenyl

  49. mwyatt222 on June 27, 2023 at 5:21 pm

Texas will be the last state to legalize if they ever do. Too many small municipalities police depts rely on the revenue generated by pot arrests. Pot arrests fund in large part police depts, jails, courts ,judges and staff and probation services. People would be amazed at just how much money is made from pot arrests. My mom was an ACLU attorney in Tx for 40+ years. The other reason Tx will never legalize because pot is a cheap affordable medication and takes huge amounts of big pharma’s profits. The GOP help their donors and not the people.

  50. Aaron on June 27, 2023 at 5:25 pm

You know…..its been like this for a while now already. They still wanna be able to hustle money from us, depending on what brand of cigarettes we smoke. T.H.C. is not the devil people.
