The LGB hippies getting first crack at profits seems about right. Guess they figured out how to make sure the most affected by previous laws were able to take advantage of the change.

Cannabis was better before it became legalized. Just a way for the government to make money. Now they can start busting people for DUI’s. It will never be legal in the eyes of society.

  18. Danny Johnson on July 23, 2023 at 6:53 pm

    Is a nycid acceptable

  19. Stavros Lask on July 23, 2023 at 6:55 pm

Scared to raise sales tax so they think of other revenue sources like speed cameras and legalizing weed. Oh well I move to Boca Raton where it sunshine no crime clean and only normal whites. None of that BLM activists whities

  20. Smokey Treats on July 23, 2023 at 6:55 pm

The best part is the soon to be enabled home cultivation aspect. None of this 8 week from seed to bud crap.

  21. Ronald Shumaker on July 23, 2023 at 6:56 pm

Use marijuana for medical reasons,o.k. Use it for any other reason you are a dopper.

  22. Mac Anoodough on July 23, 2023 at 6:57 pm

Slight correction: It’s will be the first time you can buy pot legally in NY, in almost 100 years. That’s the important bit, that it was only illegal for about 80 years…

  23. Unplugged Soul on July 23, 2023 at 6:58 pm

A lot of smoke shops in NYC have been openly selling it without a license already.

  24. John Holliday on July 23, 2023 at 6:58 pm

Very racist of NY to only give licenses to black criminals. The White people being denied should sue NY.

  25. N on July 23, 2023 at 6:59 pm

An absolute disgrace, no test for driving under the influence of weed but nyc can sell it, no concern for peoples safety. Greed , corruption and fraud just another day in the life of politicians and lowlifes of New York. If your an adult smoking weed you are the biggest loser on the planet. See the weed cultivators making it as strong as possible with harsh chemicals to get you addicted. Good Luck

It’s a crime that Marijuana isn’t legal everywhere for medical uses. A friend of mine has brain cancer and they prescribe Ubrelvy at 30 pills for $3300–and its efficacy is almost like a sugar pill. On the other hand, 1 oz. of hi-end Marijuana at $250 is immediately effective at reducing his pain (and lasts at least thirty days). Insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid could save a fortune while actually ameliorating many patients’ pain.
This behavior really leads me to believe that medicine and the drug companies are nothing more than avarice businesses, playing off of some historical context that paints them as angels of mercy vs. the actuality of greedy businesses obtaining their wealth from the blood and pain of their fellow humans.
