SUMMARY:
– Slip a drinking glass onto the door handle of your hotel room, on your side. That way, if someone turns the knob as you’re sleeping, the glass will fall and alert you that someone has opened the door.
– Before going on your trip, download translated phrases from language apps. That way, in case you can’t access the Internet, you’ll still know how to say things like, “Where’s the bathroom?”
– Use a second wallet in addition to your regular one as a “dummy wallet.” You can even fill it with fake cash or plastic cards so that it looks legit. If you get pickpocketed or, even worse, mugged in the street, the perp won’t make off with your real wallet.
– In the hustle and bustle of travel, it’s pretty easy to lose important documents like your license or passport, especially when you’re taking them in and out of your bag to show authorities. If you’re worried about losing these precious documents, scan them and email the copies to yourself.
– Choosing a room between the 2nd and 4th floors puts you at less risk of being robbed. That’s because thieves typically hit the first or ground floor since it’s easier to get away fast.
– Even if you’re not around, leaving the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door makes staff and potential thieves think that you’re in there. If you want to take things a step further, turn your TV on at a low volume and leave it on when you head out.
– There have actually been cases of people being spied on and even filmed through these peepholes! This is a total violation of privacy! So by taping some paper over the peephole of your hotel room door, you can really protect yourself.
– Hotel safes are a great way to keep your jewelry, money, and important documents secure, right? Believe it or not, they’re actually the first things thieves go for when robbing a room.
– When you’re traveling, you’ll stumble upon a number of cafes, bookshops, and restaurants with open Wi-Fi. While this is super convenient, it’s also super unsafe.
– When getting into a cab while traveling, don’t ever say that you’re a tourist. This immediately makes you a target! The driver may assume you don’t know anything about your surroundings and take advantage of you, like driving longer to hike up your fare.

Just a general travel tip. When travelling with a group of people I always pack a four outlet power block, in case there are not enough power points in the room for everyone to charge their phones / camera batteries etc.
go to places that you know
9:06 just don’t travel
Have fun
you probably wont have a glass cup and there will be wall to wall carpeting so you should bring to glass cups from home put one on the door handle but if that falls it will land on carpet and you wont hear it this is when the other glass comes in handy put it on the floor under the other glass now when the door glass falls it will land on the other glass and be even louder that just one glass hitting the ground trust me i tried it once at my home to see if it worked

Glasses typically don’t break on carpet and even if it did, you wouldn’t hear it very well. I’ve never had a hotel room that didn’t have carpet.
The rubber wedge is easy to push. Use the chair that’s in the room to wedge up under the doorknob. Most rooms are carpeted, so the chair will not be able to be moved.

If you put a glass on your door handle and someone comes in then you will have to pay for the glass
Or you could purchase an inexpensive battery operated door alarm and place it on the inside of the door in your room. That will also let you know someone has just opened your door, the alarm is pretty loud.

More like make a mess
Yeah terrible idea! then you have broken glass all over the floor!! I stay long term in hotels a lot I take a Popkin and put half a roll of pennies inside. I put my suitcase up against the door tilted and then lay the can of pennies in between the suitcase in the door when someone moves the door you should have the hook latch thing blocked. Your luggage will fall over in the can Will hit the floor and wake you up.
I have also used a thing I believe it was called a Doberman it’s an electric pressure switch that you can rig up on the door or window. There’s also a nice door shaped wedge electronic alarm.
Are used the Doberman alarms on windows and doors when I stayed in Havana Cuba. I’m a light sleeper so I just jury rig something to fall and make noise near the doors or windows most of the time. Well I’m on the road I trust nobody!!!!
Who paid for the glass?
Have you ever used a dummy wallet?
Btw, check out this video on super tips for a safe flight https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVYXErxau-U&
You know….most hotels have carpet flooring! This can lead to a silent fall….no glass breakage, may a little thump against the door. You could be a very lite sleeper and can luckily hear the thump!
how about…. just lock the door?
What if the thief removes the glass
It never did say why you’re supposed to put foil on your door in your house or hotel room
BRIGHT SIDE do you exist in real life because you are always in a cartoon
Robber grabs glass puts it on floor without making sound (very helpful tip)

I hang sleigh bells on my door knobs every night bc who needs broken glass in ur room when you’re freaking scared?!
Me: *tries to put glass cup on door handle*
*Bottle instantly drops and breaks*
Sometimes the outside handle dosen’t control the inside handle 🎯
Don’t write your info on the pad, tear the sheet off of the pad.
When I am in a hotel I always put a chair behind the door. When there is no carpet I use the garbage tin, which makes a lot of noise when removed.
It works if the lever handle is straight but does not if it slants downward.
what is u put the glass and after some time when ur asleep the glass comes out and u be like ahhhhh a rober help me lol
Yes
We’ve always left the tv on while not in the room. I went away with my cousin and aunt one time and they were upset with me leaving it on as it was wasting money. 🙄
Lol don’t do this. Just buy one of those cheap travel safety things you slide in your door to keep ppl from being able to open the door
Cant they just remove the glass
People with sphere door knobs: ☠️☠️
What if your handle is round lol
I tried this and broke all my glass at home so it had a brilliant idea and uses plastic glass instead.
Can’t the thieve litteraly take the glass off?
Me : bringing my dog when I travel 🦮
I don’t understand why the robber can’t just take the glass off.
Fear mongering on the WiFi. All the things mentioned are secured with SSL/TLS. Data is encrypted in transit for email, shopping, banking, etc.
Except for people who sleep through everything lol.
The burglar can take the glass off using a phone light
