  3. Heith Choate on May 30, 2022 at 4:45 pm

Man I gotta give it to you bro. The whole compost part inside.lol I can’t do it. I have a small house. So it would smell like a sewage leak inside. I’ll try it for my outside bed

  4. Stephen Milden on May 30, 2022 at 4:46 pm

Really helpful and what are the totes you planted the "girls" in?

  5. Erdem İnce on May 30, 2022 at 4:46 pm

Many people use 1/3 pumice, perlite etc. Why was that unnecessary?

  6. Moevao Fagalima on May 30, 2022 at 4:48 pm

I swear your voice reminds me of How it’s Made lol

  7. Robert Lauber on May 30, 2022 at 4:50 pm

Have you ever made a soil mixture with “charged biochar”? Seems like a lot of folks are certain that biochar will spend a great length of time stealing available nutrients and limiting growth activity in resident plants unless you first charge it with compost tea, etc. I’d be interested to know if you’ve been able to cross examine this. I’ve never used biochar either way. Thanks in advance

Thanks for sharing some of your trade secrets! I live in Canada and have issues getting Neem seed meal. Can you recommend a substitute? Have you ever added Dolomite Lime to your soils or would you advise against? Thanks again!!

  13. Microbe Mania on May 30, 2022 at 4:57 pm

I am trying this for the first time in a 30 gal batch , made my own adjustments for what I have , pretty much have the whole gaia green line up about a cup each = greensand , glacial rock dust , alfalfa , seaweed , mineralized phosphate, 444, other I think aswell , worm castings whole bag , bokashi x2 cups , 10 gallons premium organic soil from last run , added Myke , half bag premium Coco coir , brought to a proper moisture level , about to water with a fungal tea next 💯, bin is on a heating pad kept at about 75 degrees , added Air stones to middle of soil , also take airlines out and mix up thoroughly each day …
Going to let this Brew for about 3 to 4 weeks and mix with promix HP at about a 50/50 ratio

  14. AJ123123ify on May 30, 2022 at 4:58 pm

Isn’t that too much fertilizer on top of the big bag of Malibu? Or are they lacking those extra products you put in?

  15. JB on May 30, 2022 at 4:59 pm

Do you think I can add insect frass?

  16. L B on May 30, 2022 at 5:00 pm

  18. big neeks951 on May 30, 2022 at 5:04 pm

  20. Tony Fernandez on May 30, 2022 at 5:05 pm

I’m starting out with Earth Dust amendments and am wondering if I cover the pots would it kick start the "cooking"? I’m instructed to wait 3 weeks till the soil is mature, would planting clovers before transplanting the ladies be a bad Idea or just wait and plant the clovers when I transplant?

  21. Otilio Carrillo on May 30, 2022 at 5:07 pm

did you add 1 whole bag of Bu’s blend into each tote? also what if im unable to find humus in my local stores, would you say that good dirt from the local woodline would work as a replacement?

  22. Christopher Fletcher on May 30, 2022 at 5:07 pm

    Mycorrhizal fungus & cannabis =
    Symbi-tokis.

  23. MG OH on May 30, 2022 at 5:10 pm

  24. Sean O'Brien on May 30, 2022 at 5:11 pm

Thanks for the video but humus is so hard for me to find!

  25. hjkhjk on May 30, 2022 at 5:12 pm

oh man would love to try this, too bad my country is in the stone age and i cant source most of this stuff

  29. Udo Kullmann on May 30, 2022 at 5:18 pm

Cant buy malibu in my country can i use any other compost?

  30. Mr K on May 30, 2022 at 5:19 pm

The thing is that nature always deposits non-root organic material on top of the soil, where it cannot go anaerobic and there is no heat buildup. Roots themselves decompose, however they do so very slowly.

The buried bokashi created an anaerobic zone with a very low pH which melts the roots, causes aluminum toxicity and infects the plant with bad fungi by damaging the roots.

  31. M Leto on May 30, 2022 at 5:23 pm

That’s not dirt. That’s a damn tap root orgy waiting to happen. You can resurrect a human in that stuff

  32. Bailey Solensten on May 30, 2022 at 5:24 pm

Is there a reason you pour water all over the plants like that? Kinda stressed me out

  33. Fight Clips on May 30, 2022 at 5:24 pm

Great video awesome man love your videos

  34. Rychar Nelson on May 30, 2022 at 5:24 pm

Do you reuse the soil after the grow?

  35. dulce0403 on May 30, 2022 at 5:24 pm

Aloha mahalo (hope I spelled that right) can you do some more organics this coming season. Loved all the tid-bits on bokashi and vermicompost! I’ve watched most of your videos numerous times would love to see this playlist filled out with more of the clips from your other videos. Maybe a head to head rating and tasting on the same pheno with a compare/contrast hydro vs living soil.

  36. Robert Marley on May 30, 2022 at 5:25 pm

Idk y but you are my favorite breeder. Maybe it’s the jiffy cups

  37. TDT Records on May 30, 2022 at 5:26 pm

Shouldn’t this be called "buying organic living soil" not "building" .

  38. Andrew Bloomfield on May 30, 2022 at 5:26 pm

Nice primer. Great pacing. Articulate and informative. Thanks for posting.
Just for fun, humus is pronouced "hugh-mus". Your pronunciation is making me hungry for chick pea dip. Yum.

  40. Brandon Clark on May 30, 2022 at 5:28 pm

Think I had an aneurysm when he watered the leaves

  41. Tim Carlson on May 30, 2022 at 5:29 pm

Awesome video!!! I love seeing organic grows from scratch like this instead of amending potting soil.

  42. James T Justice on May 30, 2022 at 5:31 pm

You explain things very well and am very grateful you made this video.

  43. Nick B on May 30, 2022 at 5:31 pm

    Great vid VaderOG!
I’m looking at veganic gardening and am mid-transition right now.
I don’t have ethical issues with worm castings, but I would like to avoid the "Bio-live". You mentioned crab-meal as an alternative, but obviously wouldn’t be a viable option for my purposes.
Is there a vegan option that you would suggest as an alternative?

Thank you in advance! 🙂 Great content sir.

  44. CmmnSenseRules on May 30, 2022 at 5:33 pm

I’m always sooo surprised how much junk people put in their soil. It’s SOOOO expensive this way!!!…..
    40% Coco, 20% FFHF 20% EWC 20% perlite
    THATS IT!!!!!!!
    Additives?? Yup, only a couple.
Kelp, Alfalfa, Just a pinch of bat crap.
    Dr E’s 444.
    Boom! Done!!!

  45. Kane Erickson on May 30, 2022 at 5:34 pm

lol i like how he says hummus

  46. Karl on May 30, 2022 at 5:34 pm

I am Wondering why you didn’t use an aeration media like perlite, clay pellets or rice hulls? Is there a specific reason you didn’t use any aeration? Just curious that is all!!!

  47. BeyondSkylines on May 30, 2022 at 5:35 pm

So if I was plant from seed can I throw it straight into this soil or would I have to fill a small hole with a base medium like some fox farms and put seed in there

  50. Bearded American on May 30, 2022 at 5:38 pm

Only question I have, what do you do with the soil once you are done with that grow?
