Is Genetic Drift Real? – The Best Proof Yet w/ Chad Westport : Spider Farmer G8600 Grow Light

Is Genetic Drift Real? – The Best Proof Yet w/ Chad Westport : Spider Farmer G8600 Grow Light

I was recently on the Dude Grows show (DGC), when Scotty Real asked me – Is genetic drift real?

My answer sparked a little bit of controversy, but I based my answer on a peer-reviewed paper. Most people don’t understand what genetic drift actually means, and that is why I am here to break it down today.

As I outline in the video, genetic drift is real. Cannabis plants experience Somatic Mutations which can lead to Genetic Mosaicism. These phenomena clearly meet the definition of genetic drift……. but it’s not what you think it is, and that is what I am here today to explain.

Please watch the video. If you like, read the paper. But do yourself a favor and educate yourself as to what this is and means. Then share it with your friends. Getting the right answer, in proper botanical terms is important for us all. Just ask G.I. Joe, he’ll tell ya – knowing is half the battle.

Love the info Chad. My wife has specific medical needs and we are currently in a hunt for a strain that works best for her and planning on keeping a mother or doing as you discussed in the episode with just keeping the clones which now sounds like a better option in our case.

All living things survive by replicating their cells over and over again, using their genetic code as the blueprint. Without absolutely perfect nutrition and environment, which is impossible in a 3rd dimensional world, tiny bits of information are lost each time a cell replicates, which is why we deteriorate as we age. Genetics are preserved by breeding; the information that one sex has lost is provided by the other and vice versa. A motherplant that has been around for a long time has just lost a higher proportion of information compared to a clone from a fresh plant.

Anyone who done biology and cell division will know. Genetic drift happens when cell divide and due to quantum science it doesn’t divide properly which might cause undesired protein to lock onto instead of .
Due to electron changing states if it jump state during cell division it causes the protein to snap while locked in , this then allows any other protein to bond with that lock …
    lock & key

Genetic drift is regarding breeding not cloning, there are examples for animals and humans too

My advice is to keep mother plant under 24/7 light or 20h light cycle , specific feed , I seen old as 4years on Reddit in a basement 🤣 that plant will always produce A1Clones
