Looking at the examples shown in the video – the high tech, buildings, capital outlay, technology, and robotics, it is obvious that whosoever chooses to go this route is planning to lose money. You cannot make any money growing vegetables with such ridiculous capital outlay. There are a billion simpler ways to implement the technology and make money from it. In the end, it boils down to environment and implementation. In warmer areas, there is no need for a lot of the excesses. Just plug and play – no robotics cos there is cheap labour, no high tech buildings, no infra red lights cos there is natural warmth, no Nasa scientists are needed and no high overhead costs. It is very profitable for those of us who are more in love with farming and producing, and much less in love with technological marvels.

Groupings of diverse plants that help each other by their properties is "Unity in DIVERSITY" The garden of Eden. TOO many good qualities together in one place makes weeds and pests a NON ISSUE! The same with human beings

The problem is that you can get an acre of land in some areas for $500, now imagine filling that acre with 30 ft high racks and imagine what that costs.

The only reason it is not going well is because of the energy sectors greed. Just get cheap thorium based nuclear reactors and it’s going again. As the rest it’s business management issues and not the concept itself

    Nonsense.

The technology is sound and it does exactly what it is supposed to.

If one listens carefully to what is being said .. we are being told that the FINANCIAL SIDE of industrial vertical farming is not becoming successful.

They are not saying that the yield or the technology itself don’t not meet or exceed expectations.

In other words, it has become clear that the ultra wealthy have been buying up farmland, seeds and acquiring already existing farms in an effort to control food and food producing and distribution centers.

This means that if the ultra wealthy’s agenda is to control food sources in the future, they could accomplish this by manipulating financial factors by weaponizing economics to further their ambitions.

That has nothing to do with the efficiency of the vertical hydroponic or aeroponic technologies.

It has to do with whether the markets are being manipulated so that there isn’t a PLACE for those trying to produce and distribute from OUTSIDE of the ultra-wealthy’s umbrella.

Food and drinkable water will only ever become scarce in this day and age because those who can CONTROL the sources wish it to be so.

Those who hold that agenda do NOT want people growing their own food.

They have gone so far as to try to outlaw people starting gardens on their own property.

What could possibly warrant that other than CONTROL?

The ultra-wealthy are attempting to make most if not all consumer available seeds GMO .. so to have even further control of what nutrients the people have available to themselves.

We have to watch the small moves and shifts .. because those trends will indicate what the larger moves will be.

Everything that was stated here is true and the biggest problem with vertical farming is that everyone focused on the tech instead of the FARMING. As a hobby I made myself a small windowsill hydroponic system that costs about 15USD to make + 20USD in nutrients that I got about 2 years ago and I used less than half + a couple of hours to design and 3d print various parts for the system and I have fresh salad, cucumbers, tomatoes and some herbs year round at half of the cost of getting it from the supermarket.

Tis hi-tech vertical farms were one of the pillars of the new world order.

I was wondering why the herbs and vegetables I was buying had no taste whatsoever just like chewing cardboard of different colors. I resorted back to buying from small traditional producers and maximizing my own garden. On another note: why on earth this ‘food crisis’ when 40% of food is thrown in the garbage bins. On another note: technology and knowledge is available for all, only commitment and willingness is lacking. People in the suburbs with a small patch of land can do quite well for themselves and save tons of $$$ in buying corporate grown crap.

First thought that came to my untrusting mind is that Big Agriculture business having colonised the flat earth obviously has far bigger propaganda budgets to run campaigns to preserve the status quo! Hope im very very wrong 😜

I want to get into this industry. Thanks for making this video to highlight the issues. Very inspiring for me. Time to make a change!

I also have serious doubts about the nutritional value of plants grown in artificial light and without earth. They might look the same but in my experience do not give the same vitality as naturally grown organic plants.
