After the boiling water you Will need to Add microbes back into the soil or your plant will not take up nutrients properly. I learned the hard way about this

I’m just using fox farms soil in 1 gallon pots for all my autos and watering them with a squirt bottle until they take off. I’m terrified of root rot because I lost most of my auto crop last winter.

  11. NOT SURE. on November 5, 2023 at 1:44 am

would i get similar symptoms if my temperature went down to about 10 0C one or two nights ? also if you start your seeds in a coffee cup sized container will it send micro roots out and stop growing as soon as its hits something , i was originally using tiny carboard pots which roots are supposed to grow through

You may be able to save the seedling by cutting above the rotted portion and submerging the remainder of the stem in water and then putting it under a light, the leaves will brown and it will look like there is no hope but if the stem establishes new roots into the water it will come back in a couple of days.
