Hello, please do you use the same nutrients for papayas too ? Thanks

  3. @valeriesanchez3074 on December 2, 2023 at 3:11 am

    I agree about the ph.
I just get my water put in nutrients and plants grow fine.
Even with my city water at 8 ph.
    Nutrients drop to 7.
    Honestly don’t think it matters.
    Just makes gardening compljcated.

Thanks for the great info! I am a beginner and trying to find the organic/OMRI certified or at least all natural fertilizer to grow leafy veggies (kale, lettuce, spinach, herbs) using a small indoor hydroponic garden and have some questions. 1) Are these Masterblend products synthetic chemical or pure/natural ingredients? 2) Does "flushing" before the harvest help to clean the crops? 3) I have seen some people add some Benzoyl peroxide to prevent bacteria (or algae?) growth – what’s your best practice to avoid these issues? (especially the hydroponic system/tank is small) Thanks in advance for your advice!

  19. @ldrake3155 on December 2, 2023 at 3:32 am

Can someone help me understand (I probably am thinking correctly but want to double check); if I follow the 5 gallon formula is that already diluted and can I just use it straight on my hydroponics plants or does it still need to be diluted/ mixed with water?.?? Thanks for anyone’s response! ❤

  20. @MissLeGoddess on December 2, 2023 at 3:35 am

Very informative video, thank you Bob. When mixing your nutrients, is the quantity for the number of gallons in your reservoir or total system?

  21. @thomascochran1052 on December 2, 2023 at 3:37 am

I have raw ingredients: nitrogen 20-0-0 phosphorus 9-61-0 and potassium 0-0-50. How can I turn this into a 4-4-4 mixture. No one explains this. I’m trying to dilute highly concentrated elements to this ratio. I have no way to measure this, I can’t get any info on if the bag of 20-0-0 is that strong still after a teaspoon has been added to a gallon of water or not or if by adding it to a gallon that it has become something more like 9-0-0. I was looking for some info so I can precisely create my own fertilizer ratios myself without just following a schedule that someone has made and blindly following it. Any info is appreciated thank you.

  22. @goneFishing-yx5zy on December 2, 2023 at 3:37 am

Have you had any problems with mixing all the nutrients I have heard that you need to add the calcium nitrate last separate from the other 2

Hey man, great video! I had a question that I’m struggling to get decent info on…Bush and/or Pole Green Beans. Have you ever grown them? If so, do you just stick to the typical 12g/6/12 per 5 gal ratios? Or do you do something else? Also, any idea where PH would fall in at, as my recommendations have been all over the board…Thanks for any insight you could give!

Would Calmag work in place of the Epsom Salt and Calcium Nitrate?

  28. @johndowd7010 on December 2, 2023 at 3:45 am

You’re a bit heavy on Epsom salt.

  31. @silverfoxes65 on December 2, 2023 at 3:48 am

10 years ago I started using Master Blend Complete, which was a mix of 3 components. It worked great. So, I have been mixing MB complete for everything I grow and it works great. I’m not saying I might lose some calcium to chemical reactions, but the plants don’t seem to care.

  35. @attilavicen1579 on December 2, 2023 at 3:52 am

Hello! Good videos! I have a question. Why my calcium participate when im mixing the reservoir? I know when air bubbleing takes out co2 from water so it raise ph, but every hydroponics need some kind of airstone in the reservoir, doesnt matter its a dwc or nft system. So my question is what the best practice when mixing nutrients? I wait 1 day with tap water to get stagnated, and i air bubbled it too. Than ph go up 8.0 . Than i add a bit of nitric acid 60%, to get ph down to 6.5. Than i add a solution A (npk 6,14,30+epsom salt) stock solution, than waiting for another day and bubbleing it. Than next day i add the calcium nitrate stock solution B, than add more nitric acid to make ph 6.0. Than suddenly ph starts to rise again and calcium participate, and make cloudy water. The water was on room temperature all the time, ec went up after mixing all nutes to 900ppm (what is good), so dont know what im doing wrong pls help. How to avoid this participated clody water. Thanks.

Hi Bob thanks for the education but just a quick one, I have tried mixing a nutrient solution with both tap water and rain water but any time i do, before i get even a 600ppm for even a gallon of water, i need to add so much of the Masterblend, Calcium Nitrate and epsom salt to the water even though in most videos you are told just 2g, 2g, 1g of the masterblend, calcium nitrate and epsom salt respectively should give you about 600ppm. my question is, what could be the problem…

  42. @neverwinterfarms on December 2, 2023 at 3:57 am

Do you use Clear Rez in your nutrient tank? If not, how often do you replace and clean your tank?

Hello all. Thank you Bob for the great informations. i would like to ask something as i am new to this. i have already made some systems NFT and DWC and i just moved to mixing nutrients as hydroponic ready stuff are a little bit expensive. i Notice that after i mix everything up, after 2 days in my containers a sandy brown-grey substance appears on the bottom and on the walls (although everything is mixed correctly from the beginning). Also my roots after these 2 days have this brown sandy substance on them. i was wondering what this is. When i touch the roots it its not sticky and it washes off on my fingers with the water. i am wondering what i do wrong. i use tap water. i also put some of the mixture in a glass bottle with a cucumber for testing and this phenomena doesnt seem to appear. my containers are food grade containers, and i connect them with a simple hose. sorry for the huge comment. if there is an other way of contacting you i would really appreciate.

Just started using this precise combination with my Coast of Maine raised bed soil and the results, so far, have been quite impressive…I have also been using Chicken Soup for the Soil as well as a product called Veg, a non nutrient based plant growth accelerator and NAA-NA, which increases auxin production and root growth. I will definitely be utilizing this combo for the foreseeable future!

  50. @tonyaltass30 on December 2, 2023 at 4:06 am

    The information is rubbish.
First the TDS meter calculates the ppm from EC measurement.
There is 3 different standard for the calculation of ppm.
Root exudes will affect the EC reading and give a false ppm calculation.
As the plant absorbs the nutrients at different rates the calculated ppm changes at different rates.
Simply topping the nutrient solution to initial ppm reading will result in build up of salts that are slowly uptake by the plant.
