This video is a beginners introduction to plant disease and nutrient deficiency identification. This is designed to help the backyard gardener or hydroponic enthusiast understand the basics of plant disease, causes and prevention. Also, we review the most common nutrient deficiencies and how to tell the differences. Included are pictured examples and an explanation of how different nutrients affect a plants health.

    Thank you for this tutorial. I am the collector of rare Aroids and I keep the bulk of my collection in semi-hydro conditions with LECA or Pon. Many of my plants only have limited information available on care other than "epiphytic, high humidity" so it’s often a guessing game as to how to make them happy in their new medium.

    Also dont be scared to use praying mantis’s they are a great biological defense they are a carnivorous insect that dont ruin your crop only eat bad bugs. A tip from a master grower most people put an egg of a praying mantis at thr bottom not touching the crop. when they hatch you get three praying mantis defenders and they are cool to look at 😎
