Hot Shot no pest strip is what I use. You will have to shut down the ventilation for 24 hours as it works by filling the space with insecticide. Odorless and kills them dead. Just repeat once a week for a couple of weeks. It really does work and you can see instant results if you have a lot of them! Store in a ziplock baggie and you are good to go. $6 @ Home Depot

I need help I have a translucent whitish colour spider mite on most of my fruit trees and seeds etc. they are burrowing holes into the wood of my trees and even avocado seeds. They breed super fast and survive only on avocado seeds for weeks on end inside my home. I have heaps of avo seeds in my home growing in just water and omg they are destroying the seeds. Does anyone know what they are? They don’t make heaps of webs like some spider mites do. I wish I knew what they were.

  14. jake nicol on June 2, 2022 at 10:38 pm

Ladybugs are the easiest safest method and they work quick. Amazon sells them year round. Dont wait ,these mites seem to always be resistant to chemicals and the reproduce crazy quick.

I dont know why alot of people never just think to use a vacuum especially during flower when you really shouldn’t spray your bud because spider mites love to pop up in the middle of flower and become a pain..😡 I use a vacuum and my plant looks beautiful again.. The trick is to consistantly vacuum your infected plant for a few days straight to make sure you get most of them and the eggs. Then after a few days of vacuuming leave it alone for a few more days and see if you see more webs popping up because I find its difficult to get them in one swoop because they scatter how ever if I treat the plant for a few days straight with a thorough vacuum I eventually wipe them all out because I’m not allowing them to reproduce hence is why I repeat the process a few days straight to hinder reproduction.. Seriously if you get desperate try that its chemical free just natural suction and it saves alot of B.S all due respect but alot of my fellow cannabis growers make it so much more complicated then it needs to be when growing and caring for cannabis like just keep it simple. lol You don’t need $3,000 worth of supplies unless your major farmer or have to follow grow rules to the T in order to grow some bomb cannabis.. Just learn to read your plants and it will be a breeze my plants talk to me and tell me when they need something I keep it simple and my smoke is smooth enough to smoke it straight from the plant fresh literally when normally you’d get a really harsh burn.

Man im gettin lil black spiders i try pinching them off but there fast i think there reg spiders

  18. Jordan Zhang on June 2, 2022 at 10:44 pm

Don’t try squishing spider mites! I tried but I’m pretty sure I spread eggs to other parts of the plants. It’s better just to remove the whole leaf

  19. Firewifer on June 2, 2022 at 10:45 pm

Just found webs after 48 hr dark before cut. Its spotty and on 20%. Not sure what to do. Its sort of rot thru some spots it seems but dont think its dry rot at all.

  21. issacovid on June 2, 2022 at 10:47 pm

What about using predatory mites to kill the mites who suck the sap from the plant?

  22. Fertile Dirt on June 2, 2022 at 10:48 pm

    No neem oil outside

  23. Fatty McBastard on June 2, 2022 at 10:48 pm

Phytoseiulus persimilis actually has a faster reproduction rate than their prey under conditions that are optimal for them, more specifically, the lower end of their preferred temperature range (18 deg C), and 60% RH. Eating between 5-30 eggs and spider mites everyday, your spider mite population should dwindle rather rapidly. Outside, during a heatwave, and RH down around 25%, then yeah, not so much.

I have this problem right now but I think I have it under control, I live in the Caribbean and its been very hot lately so I guess that might be one of the reasons… This was really help, blessings be to you brethren

What a week just tossed my favorite plant because it went hermie and now 2 days later I’m almost ready for harvest and then some kind of creepy crawley walks across my magnifier. I have multiple stages of flower going on in here so I gotta smoke these fools.

These guys just screwed all my plants (in a tent, and I’m East Coast btw). I only see little black dots but other people say to get rid of it. I was flowering already, I thought it was a PH or magnesium problem. Started to see those white and then black spots. But even under a scope, Theyre too small for me to see. Now it’s time to clean EVERYTHING with miticide. And start all over again Sigh. I saw them on a few plants, so I just tossed everything, I didn’t wanna spray plants. Lol unleash stronger mites vs spider mites, I’ve read about that before.

  32. natalie hidalgo on June 2, 2022 at 10:57 pm

I have two plants outside and just noticed a mite. I’m in Salem Oregon and had a considerable amount of smoke and ash from the fires. I’m not sure if the ash helped make it inviting for mites. Anyway, I’m keeping an eye on them now since wonderful rain cleared the air. We have real sunshine now for the first time in over 10 days.

  33. cmac ctron on June 2, 2022 at 10:57 pm

Will your leafs start to curl a bit ?

  34. Jason Brody on June 2, 2022 at 10:58 pm

These buggers never touched my leaves went straight for the biggest cola and every morning I had a new Webb over it.

  35. PlayLoud on June 2, 2022 at 10:59 pm

D.Earth around the base of the plant and around, can dust the plant with it before flowering too. Spraying water & increasing humidity not a good idea: from mites to mildew.

Can I pour boiling water on my soil before I put my plant on the soil?

  39. DaveBo inc on June 2, 2022 at 11:04 pm

I really appreciate all your help videos Lex, but I tried the Doktor Doom Spider Mite spray. Sadly it literally killed one of my plants. I followed their cautions like; spraying just before lights out, and no mention about rinsing (I didn’t). I only used it because I was 4 weeks into flowering and the plants were trellised in 3’x3′ tents – at the time. I was trying to give them a quick mist of Doktor Doom, but in reality, it delivered more product than I expected, or could handle "frankly". This spray kills Spider Mites, but it would probably be better suited for outdoors or at least an un-trellised plant to allow for more control over the application. Your videos are a real help! Lex’s World as one of my "go to" knowledge base.

I’m wondering if diatomaceous food-grade dusting on the plants will kill spider mites?

  44. Ralph Storrs on June 2, 2022 at 11:10 pm

On mine it sorta looks like a white powder but when I wipe at it then it looks like a spider web. And I’m starting to find the web look in some of my buds. Is this spider mites?

  45. SirBlazeAlot on June 2, 2022 at 11:10 pm

yeah spray your leaves and high RH will give you PM which is way worse than mites…
