the craziest day in college basketball history
the craziest day in college basketball history
Saturday February 26, 2022 very well may have been the craziest day in college basketball history. For the first ever, every team ranked in the top six lost. In addition, seven of the top ten ranked teams lost on the same day for the first time ever. Top ranked Gonzaga lost to St Mary’s, second ranked Arizona was upset by Colorado, third ranked Auburn lost to Tennessee, fourth ranked Purdue lost on a game winner against Michigan State, fifth ranked Kansas lost against Baylor, sixth ranked Kentucky lost against Arkansas, and ninth ranked Texas Tech lost to TCU. Another major upset occurred in Chicago as lowly Chicago State took down WAC leading New Mexico State in the final seconds despite being 17 point underdogs. And in addition to all of these upsets, there was also a few crazy endings that will be remembered for a long time. In my opinion, at the very least, this was one of the craziest days in college basketball history and might be the craziest ever. It is highly unlikely that we will ever see all top six teams lose on the same day again.

Gonna be honest I didn’t research every single day in college basketball history but I think it’s safe to say this will never happen again. Also, keep in mind #8 Villanova, who didn’t play on Saturday, lost to UConn earlier in the week.
it will happen this season, i dont see any dominant teams yet
Every one of these losses was a away game for the top 10 teams also
8:59 As an FSU fan I’m here for the Miami loss and the FSU win back to back 😊
The REAL extraordinary occurrance here is that all six of the Top 6 teams all had ROAD games on the same calendar day.
Yikes, Arizona….. that was a rough one. If it wasn’t for the rest of the top 6 losing, that kind of loss is a one-way ticket out of the top 10.
The Florida State-Virginia ending was as sick as it gets.
It didn’t need more than the 1980 Miracle On Ice, 1984 Mary Lou Retton, 1990 Tyson/Douglas, 2003 Germany upset US Women and 2001 Diamondbacks over Yankees World Series.
Hopefully Miles and the 🐸 can take down the zags like so 🙏
Prairie view A&M camera man is absolutely useless lmao he/she needs to be unemployed
I think this video has a ‘hold my beer’ moment considering what went on in the 2023 tournament.
Hello 👋
The clip with Purdue made me pissed🤦♂️
Bruh the St.Marys bench when they passed it out t the corner and it that three… my mans has the worst griddy of all time😂💀
Florida St unreal
Whoever was the camera man for that Alcorn State buzzer beater needs to be fired💀
The last clip the dude died for that play
Me here 364 days later after two half court buzzer beater wins and a 13 point comeback with 1:30 left
Imagine being the 3 top 10 teams that survived watching everyone else collapse
POSTING THIS EXACTLY ONE YEAR LATTER ON THE SAME SATURDAY, AND THIS YEAR IS ALMOST AS CRAZY AS LAST YEAR WHAT A DAY THIS IS IN HISTORY.

Wasn’t That A Bad Beat For SC SVP? 2:18
Kentucky showed poor sportsmanship by having the bench players leave to the locker room before the game was even over with. Take the L, congratulate the winners on a good game, and then head to the locker room. That’s what teams with respect for the opposition and the sport are supposed to do.
Everytime Gonzaga is ranked or seeded really high, don’t trust it, they have an insanely weak schedule. It’s not surprising that they have a history of losing when ranked high.
How is Chicago State beating New Mexico State one of "the biggest upsets all year?" They were both unranked at the time, and neither had done anything of national siginificance in college basketball. You must be closely assicated with one of those schools.
Kentucky leaving early was so unsportsmanlike and just being sore losers.
Imagine if someone hit that parlay of all top 6 teams losing…
would have been crazier if most of these squads won on the road 😏 the Florida State win was RAD AF however 😎
While we were still sinners Christ died for us ❤
Everyone dreams about hitting a shot like that one at 9:22. Cleveland rocks!
Not quite the same thing, but on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 11 of the top 25 teams lost, tying a record for top 25 losses on one day. Addtionally, two more ranked teams lost the following day, with 13 also tying a record for most top 25 losses on a single weekend.
Wow, Gonzaga is going cold, this is absolutely insane!
Almost every team won at home, so cool. Great video!
Kansas won the championship weeks later so I guess it didn’t matter much lol
Terrible student run camera for ASU game lol.
Bo ku and go Baylor
That’s cool and all. But did u see the cure bowl? 12 fumbles! Or Jacksonville state win it’s 1st bowl game in its 1st year in the FBS
Hey go hogs
Insane
Plus the FSU Norte dame game
Crazy these were all home games for the winning team
weird how the entire top 6 was on the road
That Florida state shot! Wow
I was at that Purdue game, as a state fan, it was a magical day
Jesus loves you
home dawgs man…
I like to say go big 12 because I like k-state😄
Its always crazy when lower ranked teams beats and upsets the higher ranked teams.
1 year later, and Kentucky coach didn’t shake Arkansas coach hand, sore loser
10:00 Respectfully, how inept can a camera operator possibly be?
