How much does elevated CO2 increase cannabis yield

How much does elevated CO2 increase cannabis yield

Running a closed system and elevated CO2 is not easy but maybe the cheapest way to increase yield in your grow area.
Are many of you doing it? What systems do you use?

    Hello Shane
If u put grow containers in a bag or larger container,
Filled with CO2 using a tubing from the CO2 system, will it kill those bugs? Search homemade
    bed bug traps.

massively misunderstood in the growing community . I would wager 90% of growers are under the impression that supplemental Co2 is only of benefit after a certain ppf level.

So what’s the motivation of those trying to lower C02 levels? If it increases all kinds of crop yield wouldn’t that help solve the issue of hunger?

  8. @BleachDemon99 on February 13, 2024 at 6:50 am

But the government keeps telling me that C02 is bad 🤔😂🤣😂🤣

when adding c02 he said you get 30 percent more yield but does this mean more flower yield and thc or just more flower mass in the yield and the same amount of thc as before the extra yield?

  12. @cancer_sucks on February 13, 2024 at 6:54 am

hmmm 30% THIRTY PERCENT not 13 BUT 30%.. take my money

  13. @growin_green99 on February 13, 2024 at 6:55 am

    Interesting info thanks

  14. @sebby007 on February 13, 2024 at 6:56 am

I feel like the context is missing. How about personal grows? Is CO2 feasible for a 2×4 or 4×4 which is probably most people here? If so, how? The logic of CO2 being cheaper than electricity makes sense on the surface…

  15. @fishy2939 on February 13, 2024 at 6:59 am

Bruce Bugbee can prove that CO2 is not a pollutant. He spills the beans in his video "Maximizing Cannabis Yields".

  16. @CraftSession710 on February 13, 2024 at 6:59 am

Do you have a CO2 Meter with wifi to suggest me ?

  17. @StoicGrow on February 13, 2024 at 6:59 am

And still you’ll see a lot of “master growers” insisting on the lack of effect if not enough light is given

  18. @cevinjourgensen5016 on February 13, 2024 at 7:00 am

This was the perfect video at the perfect time. Saludos from Costa Rica.

  19. @johnmulholland5216 on February 13, 2024 at 7:01 am

So now I’m thinking my plans have changed again….sealed room it is, back to planning. But perfect timing! Superb information Shane thank you!

  20. @tutacat on February 13, 2024 at 7:01 am

No, it just increases the weight. Plants grow faster, but they have the same nutrients.

  21. @jakebrake7054 on February 13, 2024 at 7:02 am

I can remember hearing this awhile back from Dr. Bugbee about the up to 30% increase, I introduced more co2. I’ve also found a way to deliver carbon to the plants available mineral uptake factors, is how my armchair scientist is trying to phrase it. I’m just learning about this other method of delivery through working with the rhizosphere. I don’t want to cite the wrong scientist but it was someone who has an in depth life long love with researching the nuances in the biology of botany, who proclaimed that carbon in the soil is just as good.

    gets those co2 levels up

  25. @jimd1617 on February 13, 2024 at 7:07 am

    solid gold. thank you!!

  26. @cancer_sucks on February 13, 2024 at 7:08 am

can co2 be used to ‘close off’ a room.. ie essentially remove the need to ventilate outside providing humidity is controlled? potential for energy saving?
do the co2 generators work? such as the mother nature 5l co2 generator, considering trying this in a 4×4.
or the xl ExHale CO2 Bags? -a friend tried these and suffered mould issues, but cannot vouch for his practices, environment control etc lol
do the co2 sachets work? such as the Smart STL-SMRT-CO2I CO2 Bag, or multiples of?
or even the TNB The Enhancer CO2 Dispersal Canister.
would be interesting to see some tests regarding co2 levels vs RH with various co2 sources, and how long would it take for example ‘paying off’ a digital controller vs the throw away options

  27. @GerryRR on February 13, 2024 at 7:09 am

I guess it depends on your CO2 source. Around here, tank rental is $1/day, CO2 is ~$60-80 for a 20lb refill and that would last me like two months. So I’d be looking at maybe $700/year? That’s more than it would cost to double my lighting.

  28. @bananas7479 on February 13, 2024 at 7:09 am

Hey Shane did you take part in Dr Bugbee’s course on cultivation?

  29. @johnndelle on February 13, 2024 at 7:14 am

    hello . +30 % photosynthesis ok , but no +30 % in weight . tchuss from france 🙂

  30. @rmcnasty7319 on February 13, 2024 at 7:17 am

BEWARE USING CO2 IN LARGE AMOUNTS. @ Dr Bugbie , CO2 amounts @ around 1,200 start killing brain cells , causing headaches & can cause death. Use Sensors inside & Outside tent. Shut down CO2 system & vent Tent or Room a bit before doing any work.

  31. @cjfredi on February 13, 2024 at 7:18 am

Could listen to these two for days.
    Thank you both always.

  32. @andriuskazlauskas715 on February 13, 2024 at 7:19 am

Not such a cheap input anymore ?

  33. @assog5737 on February 13, 2024 at 7:19 am

Not that I doubt the doc.
But I used co2 for about 3 years, about 9 grows.
And saw maybe a 5 percent increase, if that.
And yes I knew what I was doing.

But the weirdest thing I notice was a huge increase in trichs on some of the strains.

  34. @kellykellerstein-meatchamb5361 on February 13, 2024 at 7:21 am

    Make your own CO2.
For every 1 litre of water, add 1/2 cup sugar amd 1/2 teaspoon of yeast.

  35. @magnumopus9631 on February 13, 2024 at 7:21 am

    great info thx

  36. @tonywharton5220 on February 13, 2024 at 7:23 am

I always use homemade co2. Absolutely brilliant ✌️

  37. @dieterlarrssen4745 on February 13, 2024 at 7:23 am

cant you just put a few candles in your 2×2 tent? Make sure they burn nothing and lower the air-exhaust a little bit to slow down gas-exchange?

  38. @thehatemachinestl on February 13, 2024 at 7:29 am

I would like a better understanding of how fast the plants eat c02 in a given hour during the light cycle

  39. @pete6724 on February 13, 2024 at 7:29 am

I just put yeast in warm water and leave in the tent and i get double.

  40. @STONEDay on February 13, 2024 at 7:33 am

High try to keep my CO2 ppm between 700-800 in the lung room, don’t like it going over 800ppm, that’s what the plants get. Might try a small CO2 generator and see how that effects the levels in/outside the tent. In Toronto CO2 monitors are free to borrow from the library (along with hundreds of books on cannabis).

  41. @bam18333333 on February 13, 2024 at 7:34 am

Looking for best lights for for 30×8 area.

  42. @rsj3039 on February 13, 2024 at 7:36 am

    AT LEAST 30%

  43. @gedeuchnixan3830 on February 13, 2024 at 7:36 am

This was amazingly usefull infortmation, if we can´t manage to get some brew heast and balloons soon teelights on saucers it is until then to increase CO2.

  44. @goodtogrow7774 on February 13, 2024 at 7:40 am

How to you control your temp and humidity with a sealed tent? Say i put my dehumidifier in my tent that’s more heat. If they’re only talking about big commercial grows maybe they should state that before all these people watching this go out and spend money only to destroy their crop.

  45. @youbetoomuch on February 13, 2024 at 7:42 am

I doubt any bag/bottle that u hang with any sort of venting gets to 1200ppm is my first thought …. I use propane with a monitoring system … 1500ppm seems to be the sweet spot for me
