We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.

We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.

We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.

Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.

I was shocked at how good and inexpensive the local beer was
I still find this hilarious 😂 but Belém is not a "distrito" (Lisbon is); we call it a "freguesia" 🙂 love to you and yours, thanks for sharing the fun and useful info! Take care
You have such a lovely family. Thank you for sharing
The only shocking thing I saw on this video was that there’s people who have dinner at 1700 hours. Toddlers have dinner later. Bedridden hospital patients have dinner later. That’s tea time, for Christ’s sake.
Why is it that in your video the words that should have accents don’t have them?…..
I am from NYC, I wonder if the school system there is good or? Planning to move there but struggling as my kids speak English & French only. Appreciated!
Just spent a week here in late Jan/Early Feb… agree with everything said plus 2 additional things that shocked me are: 1, the number of clear sunny days when the rest of Europe was grey; 2, the ATMs… some are worse than others (I.e. EuroNet) but they all tack fees onto a ridiculously bad conversion rate. At the time of my comment 100€ ~ $109. Getting 100€ out of an ATM will cost about $124-$128. Better to bring Euros as some small businesses and many taxis only take cash (Uber is ubiquitous though and cheap)
Actually, in spite of the widespread ignorance about it, according to the law, if starters aren’t on the menu, and with their respective prices, restaurants cannot charge for it, article 135 of the Decree-Law nr 10/2015 of January the 16th (Artigo 135.º do Decreto-Lei n.º 10/2015 de 16 de Janeiro). In fact, t’s mandatory that all products, and their prices, be on the menu and in portuguese too.
I think you just convinced my husband we need to rent a car when we visit so he can drive like a rally driver hahahahaha nooooooo
PANAMA RELOCATION TOURS!! WITH JACKIE!!👍
Hi! I’m leaving for Lisbon in a week and watching your vids all day to prepare! (I’ve been watching them for ages, but this is like cramming.) Thanks for all the tips! If you happen to see this, any tips on which part of town to stay in?
Ei! Não se esqueça da Figuera da Foz! Estarei morando lá pelo menos por um tempo, talvez até o resto da minha encarnação atual! Vou até surfar lá! Eu sou um surfista (no intervalo)! (Nasci na Figueira da Foz)
"Boy that escalated quickly". Too Funny!
Really cool dude, if you still living in Portugal, try to make a video about the north, Porto, Braga , something like that
Wtf Drug Offering???? This guy must be drunk
These things arent "shocking"…..they might just wonder u. A little less pathos please….
one shocker might be, Portuguese people are only friendly to foreigners😂
bagas … grape based moonshine is cheaper than water,
I didn’t think the hotels in Lisbon were pricey at all when I booked. Then again, I’m used to booking mostly in the US.
So question I’m looking into going, any advice to where I should start?
That’s why Portuguese have afternoon “lunche,” or what we call afternoon tea to tie over until dinner
Just one "shock": why the country that is so low on gdp per capita list has so enormous high prices? Vote more for "democrats" and u will join spain, grece or another commie paradise place club.
I hate bullfighting but I’m glad to hear they don’t kill the bull or hurt him in Portugal.
Enjoyed watching this video Wolters, you are funny and definitely born to do something like this. All the best.
Go to Coimbra instead. Lisbon is a expensive place to visit.
I’ve been to the Azores numerous times, my family is from there, but I would LOVE to go to the mainland.
I agree with the smoking. Coming from Canada, the amount of smoker’s in Portugal was a surprise even though I had heard that it was very common. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time there. It’s a beautiful place with very friendly people and I hope to go back soon! ❤🇵🇹❤️
So can you go to the pharmacy and get the drugs that you might want to have ?
I went there about five years ago because it was the least expensive flight to get to Europe. After staying three night at the end of my trip, I’ve been there every year since! Wonderful place that I fell in love with.
Go to USA, please !…….
The golden visa scam is finnally over and migration to Portugal was made harder. Phew…
Sick and tired of these leeching foreigners. Lisbon is a Babel, you hear all languages but portuguese.
The bulls are electrocuted before entering the arena and are tortured by being stubbed with soards and other sharp sticks before some small people try to make the typical "ole" with a red thing while the bull is groggy full of pain and praying to get out and be saved of that hell he was put into, and btw he is not killed in front of the public, but is killed out of publics view…. uau. I went once and made it till the end and it was no fun at all and the most disgracefull show I have ever seen in my life, so please dont go and dont support that sadistic primitive sad display of primitivism and human degradation.
as a portuguese i love all of these shocks that makes us special <3
That thing about the restaurant thing is more a Lisbon, if you move more to the north you get something free especially the olives, those are almost always free, I once wad in Coimbra and the olives were free, you pay those things more in Lisbon.
Also it’s one of the best places to grab some clothing if need be, especially the sporting goods store at Colombo mall (if I said that correctly).
I am portuguese and i am shocked because i didn’t know sunglass sellers also had other "hobbies". Truly speechless
How do you go about getting a visa to stay so long in Portugal?
Walter, did you ever visit Galicia during your time there? Which parts and thoughts? I think the food is even better! And it’s so gorgeous. Worth a video!
The hash looked and smelled real. The weed store sucked dont bother …I prefered uber over taxis
Have you been to Tbilisi ,Georgia ? If not …you should ! Amazing country , fantastic capital city.
People sell drugs??!! Were did you stayed ????
Just got back from Lisbon and Porto and a few other places too and things must have changed a lot in 5 years since this was made. Drivers were so calm – very little horn honking and definitely I did not see speeding or craziness. As for smoking, I was shocked how little smoking there was – definitely more smoking than the U.S. but nowhere near what I’ve seen in France, Germany or Spain. Prices were still very good. Food was delish and people were incredibly NICE! Watch out for those slick pavers! You can definitely fall down. And there was lots of dog poop! One thing I was really shocked at was how modern and beautiful and clean (except for dog poop) that everywhere we went was…all the charm and beauty of Europe with all modern conveniences!
"Cheap" is an insult. Inexpensive or like you said affordable is better.
You pay for everything in Portugal and foreigners usually pay a little more….What the speaker is saying is all true !
The bull fighting in portugal reminds me more of south of France bull fighting. I like that neither kill
No offense. But as a portuguese myself, it amazes me how we shock Americans about our driving.
From the perspective that, yeah we have a toretto blood. But watching crazy American videos on the wheel, we get the idea that u are the crazy ones.
Thanks for the great tips. We are heading to Lisbon in June for the first time and we are looking forward to this great excursion.
We will be in Sao Miguel as well. Any tips?

I’ll go to lisbon this Friday, I’m really excited
Are you sure that is your mom and that she is older than you?
