What If You Lived In a Closed Biosphere?

What If You Lived In a Closed Biosphere?

What if we took everything that sustains life on this planet, and shrunk it down to one small bubble? Earth’s biosphere stretches about 20 km (12 mi). From the deep-sea vents in the ocean into the atmosphere. This is where almost all life exists. If we ever want to live in space, or settle Mars, we will have to recreate this extremely complex system. What would you eat? Would you have garbage? What would be the biggest threat to your health?

Why do i keep hearing Pauly Shore say "Viva Las Biodome" LOL

  7. @a35362 on March 20, 2024 at 6:36 am

Because of course you used footage from the Pauly Shore classic, Bio-Dome.

  8. @JabeenSarang on March 20, 2024 at 6:38 am

  10. @aaronk4266 on March 20, 2024 at 6:43 am

I want to see a biosfier in other planets

  11. @sciencerscientifico310 on March 20, 2024 at 6:44 am

In order for a biodome to be sustainable, it would probably have to be at least several kilometers in diameter.

  12. @stellabell5463 on March 20, 2024 at 6:45 am

You need to gradually build it up. Not all at once. Minimise the concrete and go for granite.

  13. @shivamaharaj3478 on March 20, 2024 at 6:45 am

Then the movie where they guy grow potato up in space was shit then…all fiction

  14. @animation1926 on March 20, 2024 at 6:48 am

  15. @vassa1972 on March 20, 2024 at 6:49 am

I sort of feel like that in my little apartment in downtown Hamilton mostly because I’m disabled a stroke and cardiac arrest and colon cancer survivor and use a wheelchair when I’m outside

  16. @OnesFan1 on March 20, 2024 at 6:50 am

The goat will eat all your vegetables and you need to get them pregnant constantly to get the milk since it’s made first for their babies, then you’ll have more goats to feed and you’ll end up with just goats

  17. @nurvalsadia on March 20, 2024 at 6:51 am

  20. @kurtmontgomery9719 on March 20, 2024 at 6:55 am

What if we were reborn after we die?

  21. @historyofvideogamesandmyop2913 on March 20, 2024 at 6:55 am

I successful biosphere would need specialists in many fields , plus regular people to do the cleaning, agriculture, taking care of the animals, as well as people naturally entertaining to defuse the conflicts and keep the peace. Would probably need to be a lot bigger than their thinking. Have shifts working around the clock and not giving up when things started to get bad figure out how to solve them quickly and be ready for similar future failures. 120 people doing a 10 year study inside one.

  22. @davikzoron1779 on March 20, 2024 at 6:57 am

It failed because it didn’t have pauly shore and Stephen Baldwin

  23. @netturner540 on March 20, 2024 at 6:57 am

How can you not live in a biodome Can only go so far in this ocean But you can survive outta space with no problems even for months. That’s like how in the hell Egyptians are all white in the land of black.

  24. @YoSmilez on March 20, 2024 at 6:58 am

uhm… im not sure you can GROW rice…

  25. @Peekarica on March 20, 2024 at 6:59 am

Imagine if the next social experiment would be to recreate an artificial world of 15 miles in diameter in space.

  28. @suzanturner369 on March 20, 2024 at 7:06 am

The design and thin line of balance of our world is amazing. If you considered the vast complexities, you must believe in a Divine Creator.

  33. @serenahuttona5145 on March 20, 2024 at 7:14 am

They should use Aeroponics or Vertical Gardening in Biosphere’s to help take up less space. Just an idea :3

  34. @daniel.sandberg.5298 on March 20, 2024 at 7:15 am

I thought he mean turn earth into one giant biosphere.

  35. @teama224 on March 20, 2024 at 7:16 am

And then people say it was created by an explosion, what a creative explosion that was.

  47. @dandavatsdasa8345 on March 20, 2024 at 7:25 am

    Algae for oxygen?
    Vermiculture for manure?
Mealworms for complete protein & Vitamin B12?
Some cockroaches are edible at least by insects that are more edible to humans?
Recycle water with carbon and passive solar?
    Thank you
