When I was growing in coco I started with the cheap stuff (like so many do), worst mistake ever. Constantly chasing your tail trying to fix the problems. Ended up using either Canna or Cyco, only 2 brands I would use.

Would you use worm casting if also using synthetics?

I use canna coco really good! Might be getting a confused with the salts here I use athena and growlink to control my crop steering however I find I can only use half the units it’s asking for cause my ec in the pot goes mad like 7ec this might be a shot size issue. But now I’ve seen this is this a salt lock issue?and or what would u suggest as a solution

  11. @mearl3977 on April 15, 2024 at 8:38 am

Peat is also flammable when it gets dried out and exposed to the sun. Its become a problem in Europe and the states. Unused or old peat is thrown out and it starts forest fires. I think it has to do with how they mine it.

  12. @timpage5021 on April 15, 2024 at 8:38 am

No drawbacks to coco in my honest opinion

  13. @hehawkiller on April 15, 2024 at 8:39 am

I’ve switched off synthetics and gone organic living soil. I will never go back to synthetics. Way better quality IMO. I also (not confirmed) think that synthetics is part of what blocks you REM. Since going organic, I’ve noticed my sleep is better, and my dreams are back. I haven’t had a dream in over a decade. Now I have them almost every night.

  14. @Squid_gardens on April 15, 2024 at 8:40 am

what are your thoughts on vermiculite?

  15. @nickneeley8798 on April 15, 2024 at 8:40 am

I’ve heard coco produces cardboard terps you just don’t get the benefits of soil microbes and other organic nutrients? Not sure how true this is I’ve read it and heard it a few different times recently.

  16. @kenyattagrows4215 on April 15, 2024 at 8:40 am

    I like Burpee Organic Coir

  17. @timpage5021 on April 15, 2024 at 8:41 am

  20. @citygonecountry150 on April 15, 2024 at 8:44 am

I luv these shorts. Can u do one on coco dryback best practices? I hear 90% saturated at all times and i heard otherwise. With and without perlite? I would really apprec it. So many conflicting things i see online. I use high qual from scietetics. Its the only aged coco on the market and its ground so fine. Try scietetics. Talk to jerin. Def diff than any coco i seen. The texture alone is so diff

  21. @tdslaine on April 15, 2024 at 8:44 am

what nutrients need to be added? are these mostly synth or are organic viable? i read about 70/30 coco/perlit. nutrients need to be added daily?

  22. @Farmweed on April 15, 2024 at 8:45 am

Very interesting 🤔 I started with coco, it was bad & switched to soil in my mini grow. My area sodium content in water is BAD, water filters on ground water pumps (red tagged!, for those in the know)come out f Orange with salts/sodium, I wonder if that effected my coco? I now filter twice😮, balancing act. 😂😂😮😂😂😂🤪 Love your videos Thank You ❤

  23. @Exotic_cheff on April 15, 2024 at 8:46 am

If I do 50/50 soil and coco should I still water every day ?? Or every other day ???

  24. @foreverdjango5869 on April 15, 2024 at 8:46 am

I have some brand new Canna nutrients at home that I won´t be able to use soon, they´re Coco A + B 5L. Would anybody be interested in trading or buying them? They´re worth 155CAD but feel free to make any offer!!

    Flora Flex coco?

  27. @HopinJim on April 15, 2024 at 8:49 am

For my first ever run I’m using Fox Farm Cultivation Nation 70/30 buffered coco with perlite. Feeding with Neptune’s Harvest organic liquid and cal-mag, along with recharge. Seems to be working well, but time will tell. I’m running autos, and I’m at week 5 and just went to flower.

  28. @funkyole1125 on April 15, 2024 at 8:50 am

So can coco be reused? If so, what do I need to do with it? Anything?

  29. @Psychodermia on April 15, 2024 at 8:53 am

The biggest reason people have trouble with cheap coco is that they get lazy and don’t want to do the work. 😂😂
I used Canna. Had to add CalMag+ anyway.

  30. @douglastaylor638 on April 15, 2024 at 8:55 am

So I’m a newbie I’m getting my (black gold ) organic soil how much coco coir do I add to each bag 50 lbs and it has perlite

  31. @Joey0366 on April 15, 2024 at 8:56 am

  42. @jimdennis9628 on April 15, 2024 at 9:12 am

How many times could coco coir be reused when using Recharge?

  43. @TerpyTen on April 15, 2024 at 9:13 am

I love Coco for fabric pots because of peats hydrophobic properties, but I love peat in my EarthBox’s.

  44. @cathybroadus4411 on April 15, 2024 at 9:13 am

Team Coco all the way. The buffering is quite simple but messy as hell. I’ll stay with brick, I don’t mind.

  45. @puffpuffpass4231 on April 15, 2024 at 9:15 am

For the canna coco do you get the bags or the bricks, and if you’ve used their bricks did you have to buffer them?

  46. @dilullohousehold2626 on April 15, 2024 at 9:16 am

Dude… First off, I love your show, bravo and thank you. But after all of the coco issues you mention in this video… So, how is this better than rapid rooters or pete moss plugs again? I’ve always used rapid rooters (Pete moss plugs) and have never had an issue. Granted I don’t grow in dirt, so feeding is bottom up and not top to bottom. Guess IVe been lucky.
