    DEAR MADAM /SIR,
PLS AT LEAST ALLOW MINIMUM QUANTITY FOR RECREATIONAL USE. LIKE PER PERSON CAN CARRY 24 GRAM OR 12 OR 6 GRAM. EVEN IF U CAN’T DO THAT AT LEAST 1OR 2 GRAM AFTER THE LONG WEEKS WORK FOR PEACE OF MIND.
A BIRD WANTS TO LIVE TO FLY. CANNABIS LOVERS WANT TO LIVE TO LOVE THIS PLANT, WHICH COMES FROM EARTH. WE WANT PEACE AND SPREAD IT.
IT’S NOT LIKE U HAVE ALSO BANNED OTHER SUBSTANCES WHICH IS MORE HARMFUL THAN CANNABIS. MAKING IT ILLEGAL WILL OPEN ANOTHER DOOR, YOU KNOW BETTER!
LET PEACE PREVAIL AND HATRED DIMINISH.
    LOVE ❤

it is funny the politician that forgot what it was like before legalisation, now they want to give the bussiness back to organised crime? Journalists should look into corruption, it was always about the link between organised crime and politicians

thailands government are so incredibly selfish, only reason this ban on recreational cannabis is being applied now is because of the parliment members losing lots of money in medical stocks, as nearly half the number of hospital visitors for minor illnesses, and mental illnesses have been reported since the new cannabis laws, greedy scum, hope thailands people put a stop to this bullshit before their tourists and new love of cannabis are gone forever

  15. @backroomsuperstar on May 28, 2024 at 9:45 am

The amount of money changing hands at the top of the government will influence this, especially in a country with a bad rep like they have.
They can throw a front man up there talking about medicine this, recreational blah, pharma that, blah blah etc. Bore off Keith.
The drinks companies will be lobbying to ban it to keep their flagging sales up, and they’ll be looking to take more back handers off the growers than they are currently getting. Nothing surer. The UK government regularly has free drinks parties hosted by the drinks companies, which is a clear bribe and conflict of interest, but I can’t imagine they’d employ different tactics in Thailand.
Germany have just let people grow their own, which seems a basic common sense concept, let it support it’s own ecosystem of growers and consumers.

  21. @ricohflex777 on May 28, 2024 at 9:51 am

Why is BBC World Service endorsing Cannabis consumption and addiction within Thailand? And deleting all comments that do NOT agree that Cannabis is harmless? What is BBC World Service western media agenda? You are interfering in the internal politics of Thailand. Is this the so-called "free speech" that the western media preaches?

  22. @demitrishernandez6753 on May 28, 2024 at 9:52 am

Never put it past politicians to ruin a good thing through sheer ignorance and incompetence

  23. @note_finger on May 28, 2024 at 9:52 am

I agree with the health minister, marijuana should be for "medicinal" use and controlled since it IS a sacred plant and with a special condition to grow your own plant.. i personally think marijuana should stay medicinal in Florida since its part of the states values.. if Desantis was smart about it he’d propose a special tax bill along with the recreational bill if passed that allows small marijuana business owners to have a tax break upon first year or two of start up.. just so those small business owners can catch up and succeed with the big retailers of the marijuana industry such as trulieve.. the cannabis market should have every dispensary business can succeed leaving vast options and product to try.

  24. @KimchiSpringRoll on May 28, 2024 at 9:54 am

One thing is for sure, after they’ve grown many batches of cannabis in those fields the soil is gonna be much cleaner for future crops for food or material production.

  25. @jaymo8206 on May 28, 2024 at 9:55 am

The gov officials are DUMB. Prostitution is also illegal in Thailand, but you wouldn’t know it from ALL the gentlemen’s club, bars, brothels and other locations that sell SEX nationwide. Even here in the countryside we have bars catering to that need. Meanwhile, the drunks and yaba-meth heads can go about killing and maiming themselves and innocent bystanders.

  26. @SteveninTune on May 28, 2024 at 9:55 am

  32. @omextracts on May 28, 2024 at 10:01 am

Can’t wait to go explore Thailand again with legal cannabis, such a strong whisky redbull pill popping from the pharmacy vibe. Can only imagine outs like with everyone chillaxing with cannabis.

  33. @ricohflex777 on May 28, 2024 at 10:02 am

It is wrong to consider Cannabis as less harmful. It is a narcotic drug. If popularized among Thai population, Cannabis is a first introductory step to Heroin addiction. It must be stopped or else the whole Thai society will be destroyed. The slant of pro-Cannabis camp is now to promote the "medical" use of it. Which even if true only applies to 0.001% of the people consuming it. And under the cover of this new fake identity Cannabis is sold to addicts in Thailand. Cannabis is a lucrative narcotic for drug lords – just like Heroin, Cocaine, Fentanyl and methamphetamine.

ALL CANNABIS USE IS MEDICINAL . ALL OF IT. ALL ALL ALL . To be more relaxed, without stress, more jovial, more inquisitive, more musical more hungry how is that not medicinal??? after work a martini relaxes you and eats at your liver do it long enough you did of cirrohsis , smoke a cigarette after work to ease anxiety and die of lung cancer
Smoke a joint even lots of them daily and nobody HAS EVER DIED. ZERO OVERDOSE RATES .. Thai kids smoke cigarettes as if its nothing no one thinks anything of it. A 12 yr old can get a bottle of rum , die of alcohol poisoning in an hour. How is weed a harm to society someone please tell me

  39. @HYEpower on May 28, 2024 at 10:12 am

Asian counties peoples are the best growers in the world. Its not surprising as cannabis originated in Asia

  40. @theshadow3001 on May 28, 2024 at 10:13 am

To the government of Thailand look at the money you’re going to lose to business tourism economical standings are going to go down it should be free illegalized and decriminalized

  47. @KyrosNox on May 28, 2024 at 10:21 am

That was their plan all along. Let the free market develop the industry, and then seize it via legislation.

  48. @coshyno on May 28, 2024 at 10:25 am

This Thai health minister, what a fool. To be able to use cannabis recreationally was exactly the point of decriminalization. Cannabis doesn’t kill yet he wants it to be illegal to use it recreationally ? But says nothing about alcohol which is the number one killer in the world along with tobacco killing more people each year then all illegal drugs combined ? I cannot stand ignorant people.
