I mix 1 bag worm castings with 1 bag compost and 1 bag topsoil to revive dead compacted clay dirt, works amazing. I also use your worm bin which allows to add worms to my soil. My lawn has never looked better.
I have two of your bins. They are great. Thank you for this content!
In the case of those selling commercially, other than consistency of time and texture of product, do you think there is any point at all in feeding a set food list to claim consistency of ‘nutrient range’ in the end product? I’ve seen a few videos where someone visits a seller with a ‘secret ingredient’ list, but does it really make that much difference to the end product?
Very good video. I plan to use worm castings this year in my grow bags.
Could someone clarify/confirm this for me?:
The ammount of N, P and K in the form of organic material stays in the castings right?
For example if i would vermicompost a large ammount of leaves with high ammounts of organic nitrogen it would stay in the castings right? Nothing inately "gets rid of" the Nutrients in the compost?
And the reason for low NPK in castings is due to it beeing mostly composed of carbon rich material that was low in NPK to begin with?
Thanks for the explanation Steve. Here’s what does it for me; Any plant soil I enrich with worm castings results in healthy and productive plants 🙂
Can you please let me know how much WC is needed for one acre if we use it instant of bio fertiliser, or should we mix it or not?. I would be very grateful if you would share that knowledge or even make video.
On YouTube, there are only videos for gardens, but we farmers wanna use it, but we dont know how much etc.. Thank you
Worm castings our good for soil amendments if fresh with biological activity within, but if it’s.been sitting on a shelf for 6 months at a box store I’d suggest not so much if any.😊
To grow high value food you need to have over 150 elements, not just NPK!
Love how your videos help educate the home worm farmer and commercial folks!! Treasure trove of info!!🪱🪱🪱
Fascinating. Great video!
Exactly what I needed right now. Thank you!
Worm castings can be a soil amendment or a living soil itself. Depending on what the worms were fed and what the betting was and what the grit Source was it can be filled with tons of beneficial microbes and trace minerals.
NPK for those that don’t know.. is Nitrogen, Phosphorus and something else, oh yeah potassium(over all building blocks) ie nitrogen for leaves Phosphorus for flowers and fruit.. potassium for growth…
