Killeen voters divided over Proposition A, ballot measure aimed at decriminalizing marijuana
KILLEEN, Texas — As the 2022 elections draw closer, some people in Killeen are very passionate about one proposition.
Its over the legal enforcement that police officers have when it comes to marijuana in Killeen.
Dozens gathered at Lions Club Park senior center in Killeen to hear from community leaders about the support and opposition when it comes to proposition A. The proposition states it would prohibit Killeen police officers from issuing citations or making arrests for Class A or Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana offenses except in limited circumstances.
Some are not in favor of this.
Those against Prop A say it will go against the oath police officers took to uphold state law in Texas, but those who are in support of the Prop A says it will put guidance in place that would make a more even field for marijuana users in Killeen.
Julie Oliver, executive director with Ground Game Texas, favors Proposition A.

I’ve never understood why governments have not legalised all drugs. With the right conditions upon it, it would take away a great portion of funding for criminal organisations and give government another source of revenue.
That is a lie saying they would not be ae to use the smell as probable. Cause… instead it changes to probable cause of driving under the influence. Or DUI. It will not help stop marijuana crimes.
We won prop a passed 👏
Hopefully they pass it after all these extensions and stuff. Honestly I’d be fine with a search for smell, I mean yall said under 4oz I don’t have guns or controlled substances or felony charges. I say decriminalize but keep probably cause in place. If you aren’t doing any dirt you shouldn’t have nothing to hide right? Plus the smell of weed has been any reasons why drug dealers( real drug dealers not weed) and violent dudes get caught so hell yeah. I don’t people to go to jail but at the same time I aint trying to deal with more crazy people on these streets…I could’ve stayed in NY but Texas is much cheaper plus yall have some nice cops out here haha.
If Americans keep voting Republicana in it will never change
Legalized , stop destroying people’s lives, cheers✌🏽❤
