For me the ONLY thing that means Titan, is if it has Titan drivers. Because that makes the biggest difference. And this doesn’t have that

  2. Ben Hur on August 6, 2022 at 5:46 pm

Happy new year, hope you’re doing better that you’re not surrounded by all those…. idiots in the tech space to put it mildly…

  3. AwesomeBlackDude on August 6, 2022 at 5:48 pm

Came back and realized YouTube algorithm had successfully suppression the viewership counts. 😬

  4. Reinhardt Wilhelm on August 6, 2022 at 5:49 pm

I respect the 3080 as a return to form. It’s only about 30% better than the 2080 Ti, but at $699, that makes it a respectable successor to the 1080 Ti, though not a truly great card.

Of course, the 3090 is utter garbage. It makes more sense as a workstation card, but no gamer should buy it.

  5. mxthunder2 on August 6, 2022 at 5:51 pm

    you forgot about titan black

  6. Grayson Phoenix on August 6, 2022 at 5:51 pm

There are SO MANY reasons to just LOVE this video. 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
[EDIT] – cuz I’d tabbed away to cross-ref / research and DIDN’T FINISH this vid, til just now! 😛
EXCEPT, of course, that ALL YOU DOUBTERS have effectively helped him RETIRE when he’s been so EXCELLENT. >_<

"3090" has no real "precedent" — NO 2090/2090 Ti . . NO 1090/1090 Ti. WTF were you lot thinking?!?!? -_-
The 3090 is NOT labelled "Titan". And it IS plainly labelled "GeForce". What’s so hard about that? O_O

And what really IS "TITAN class performance"..?!? Well-put here: it’s plainly "not clearly defined".

    . . . , I’m a fan / student of Human Psychology… so to touch on GroupThink was BRILLIANT!
(Personally, I like the experiment where the Candidate is placed in a room with Actors, and SMOKE is blown in under the door, to see which of them still try to "leave" due to possible "fire", despite all the Actors staying seated in the face of the evident smoke.) >_<

For me, established PROOFS – from nV’s own website pages through benchmarks & other creators’ evaluations, etc – just say SO much.
    . . .

If nVidia had INTENDED the 3090 to be known as a Titan, it will have NAMED it as such, and not as "3090".
That’s quite LOGICAL and STRAIGHTFORWARD . . . surely nobody should expect less than that basic behaviour.

Perhaps nVidia didn’t like the previous ways they had already used "Titan, Titan X, Titan Xp" . . because, where do you go from there? "Titan XX" or "Titan XXX"? (Now we’re into Wrestling territory, maybe? I dunno, I’m not a fan.)
    ((Side note: Sapphire "Tri-X"))

    F nvidiots

  8. Andrew Gurinovich on August 6, 2022 at 5:59 pm

"titan class" meant market positioning – much more expensive than mainstream gaming cards.

  9. crowntotheundergroud on August 6, 2022 at 5:59 pm

Its bullshit that there ever was a Titan to begin with. Didnt nvidia used to just make their most powerful gpu the xx80?

  10. flipsideca on August 6, 2022 at 6:01 pm

turing and ampere are the worse performance per dollar increase; I’ll stick with my pascal card (GTX 1080)

  11. OwisiVisuals on August 6, 2022 at 6:03 pm

    Alright Guys

  12. Bliv AK on August 6, 2022 at 6:04 pm

Planning a marathon on Jim’s tech days. Your research and analysis is second to none. Oh! Did I mention I love the Scottish accent? Drop a video on tech now and then, it’ll be great to know your thoughts. @10:45 got me in stitches.

  13. Craig Davies on August 6, 2022 at 6:05 pm

Remember all the comments Jim saying the 3090 is not the flagship because nvidia said the flagship was the 3080… yeh I remember because now the ‘halo’ product or ‘titan’ product we all been saying was the flagship… Has been confirmed as the flagship my nvidia the 3090ti. Amazing how you tried to tell us the truth and people did ot believe you and you were right all along.

  14. dosduros on August 6, 2022 at 6:07 pm

    Dear Jim,
I hope you are doing well.
I miss your content and I check you channel from time to time to see if you have changed your mind.

When I see you did not, I somehow have a flashback to the movie Good will hunting where his friend tells him that the best moment of his day is when he comes to pick him up and hopes that he would be just gone. If you saw the movie you probably know what I am talking about.

I will still miss your content, but I am somehow happy that you made a decision that makes you happy. Almsot like an ex girlfriend that you miss but dont contact anymore and hope she is better without you.

    Take care man.

  15. Adhi Suryana on August 6, 2022 at 6:08 pm

    Ahh… this age so well….
    Look at 1200$ 3080Ti that is 11-12 with 3090….

  16. Avro Arrow on August 6, 2022 at 6:09 pm

It’s now February of 2021 and the world still isn’t the same without me hearing "Alright guys, how’s it goin’?" from the stalwart Scotsman. Mind you, what would Jim talk about other than the way the industry has become an abject failure at everything?

Jim, I don’t blame you for not wanting to cover the BS that has become the norm these days. I wouldn’t want to cover it either and you’ve more than made your contribution to effect positive change. I hope that all is well with you and that you’re keeping safe. As I type this, I’m wearing my "Ryze ‘n Shine" mask from your merch store! Cheers to you Jimmy!

  17. laughingboy9000 on August 6, 2022 at 6:09 pm

    Fuck ‘em.

Whatever you do next I wish you the best – just avoid the great unwashed.

  18. Rickbearcat on August 6, 2022 at 6:10 pm

When people spend their money on what they read as a "Titan in all but name", you tend to get pretty defensive on the sunk cost fallacy on your purchase. And you will walk forward like a blind person off a cliff. Even though you’ve been told that there is a cliff in front of you. Lol.

  19. BrotherO4 on August 6, 2022 at 6:10 pm

    i miss AdoredTV 🙁

  27. AdoredTV on August 6, 2022 at 6:21 pm

Guys there was a slight issue earlier where Linus’s outsourced copyright team claimed the rights to my video, but they resolved it *very* fast.

So Kudus to them and no harm done!

    Hi AdoredTV,

Good news! The copyright claim on your video was released.

    Video title: "You’re Being Misled"

  31. Solar Soul on August 6, 2022 at 6:23 pm

noobs be like, BUT I PAYED FOR IT OMG

  32. Derryl Gavin on August 6, 2022 at 6:24 pm

I own a 3090. I always saw the 3090 as the flagship GPU. I would have also kept my 2080ti if I had one. You can power mod them and come within 10% of a 3080. The 3090 was the intended upgrade from the 2080ti and the 3080 was intended for the 1080ti owners – the few who managed to get them. But everything is now fk’d up. All graphics cards are expensive now. The next few launches will probably feel like a battle Royal; we will have to wait for the company’s and professionals to get their fill. A market for gamers could take years to return.

  33. Sulphurous on August 6, 2022 at 6:25 pm

This video aged like fine wine with the inevitable release of the 3090 Ti, the new $2000 GeForce flagship.

  34. Flatox on August 6, 2022 at 6:25 pm

The king is dead, long live the king 😔

  35. Dennzer1 on August 6, 2022 at 6:25 pm

How is a 2080 a mid range? That’s the the only problem with this video. Upper mid range has to be said.

  36. Jeff on August 6, 2022 at 6:25 pm

Is jim doing content somewhere else these days?

  37. Eric Taylor on August 6, 2022 at 6:26 pm

All the dislikes on this video are from people whose comments you read at the beginning being proven wrong LMAO

  38. TechKnowBabble on August 6, 2022 at 6:27 pm

This company loves gas lighting its customers a but too much. I cant wait for opens source hardware in 20 years!

  39. Grayson Phoenix on August 6, 2022 at 6:30 pm

Hi @AdoredTV – PLEASE HELP. (-or- anyone ELSE who "knows a lot / enough" about these things, please)
Could you CLARIFY something, please? WHY is it "fair" (as per Anthony Young) to compare *__REFERENCE__** Radeon* (5000 series) cards vs *__FOUNDERS EDITION__** nVidia* cards..?
In reviewing the __6700 XT__ , it was compared in this group of _2 Radeon + 3 F.E. nVidia cards_ :
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wO2vUZv4zw&134s

Have I totally missed or misunderstood something? HOW is that a "fair" comparison, that they did?

    THANK YOU in advance. <3

I’m back here after months because… I miss Jim (it was the only channel that I followed every single video)

  41. Ricky_Pigeon on August 6, 2022 at 6:33 pm

im a bit late to the party, but the 3090 is a 3090. and these arguments are some of the dumbest thing i’ve ever seen in tech.

  42. BassJunkie on August 6, 2022 at 6:41 pm

Bit late but…. None of the commenters in your video understand how the titan eco system works..

  43. Alex Sweet on August 6, 2022 at 6:41 pm

can we get a redo with the 3080ti now?

  44. Twin Helix on August 6, 2022 at 6:42 pm

Here we are a few months later, NVidia releasing Ti(e) cards left and right, but the 3080 Ti didn’t get 20 GB but 12 GB. Man, this gen feels like such a scam in many ways.

  45. Mr.Kios on August 6, 2022 at 6:42 pm

Well ladies and gents, I came back to this video to announce that our beloved Jim is back. New video by him today and yes if it feels as Christmas, easter etc altogether it still is true. Now go to his new video and rejoice!

  46. CyphaBorg on August 6, 2022 at 6:43 pm

3:52 Doesn’t ti stand for Titan to begin with and classifying it " as Titan performance "
is dependent on whatever tier the card really is?

  47. KMPuter Tech Supplies on August 6, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Hey Jim my man. I miss you 🙁
    Hope all is well.

  48. Kenny J on August 6, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Don’t be to disappointed that the Lemmings don’t recognize the truth. After all what they are really good at is following.

  49. Joshua C. on August 6, 2022 at 6:45 pm

TIL, "one step down from the absolute best consumer card" is the midrange.

  50. Zuni on August 6, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Came here after watching your Moore’s Law is Dead appearance.
You’re a legend. Amazing to find out you’re mostly plant-based(vegan) too. It means you see through all the BS not just tech marketing BS. 🙂
