When Colorado joined Washington as the first states to legalize recreational cannabis in 2012, the industry was slated to become a new and exciting frontier for entrepreneurs and small business owners wanting to break the mold.
That isn’t exactly what happened.
“Honestly for me and many of my colleagues who’ve been in it this long, I’ve said if I knew it was going to be this hard, I never would have started,” said Jane West.

Alright. How would that be equity if it is actually biased by skin-colour distinction ? Equity is not about that. I can conceive that a "majority" of convicts for MJ possession/selling are African Americans or brown-skinned. Folks of any origins should be released if they were incarcerated for a minor MJ felony prior to legalization. It doesn’t make sense to keep these people in the prison system anymore. Not like it is not overpopulated already… Appreciate your documentaries but you oughta be neutral regarding those matters especially if your aim is to stand as a credible media. Live and let live. We are in it together.
So you guys interview two women who did NOTHING to help patients when HB 1317 was being debated, but now they’re all about equality? PBS, you should be ashamed for not doing your research on who you decide to interview about these topics. Both of these women only care about making money and increasing their brand awareness. Equality isn’t in their vocabulary, and their easily accessible history on the matter would have surfaced had you done the requisite research.
