Prevent. Know your strains first, some want more then others. If Using RO water add 200ppm of cal mag, if using RO water and coco add 300 ppm of cal mag or 200ppm of just cal mag and 100ppm of just the Mag. Always use cal mag with RO water, even if its just a straight water day, if you dont your just waiting for it to happen, done believe me try it.

Deficient. Add 200 ppm of your cal mag, and 100-200 ppm of just magnesium ( mag sulfate), and re evaluate when feeding/watering.

plants love mag sulfate, it makes plants happy and green. Its a staple in my garden. and please dont waste your hard earned money on a companys Mg for $30 bottle of crap, just get some epson salt for $5 (mag sulfate). Its the same thing.

nutrients come in dry form in the beginning then companies like advanced stamp a high price and fancy label on a bottle to make you think your special if you just bought there products. Don’t be fooled peoples, N is N, P is P and K is K, there is no difference on a periodic element chart!

I grew out a 12 pack of a strain called star pupil two years ago. Every pheno had purple stripes in the stems and the actual stem was black at the smaller braches. The entire plant goes black at harvest. Every pheno. It was for sure not mag defiecient. But i get what ur saying. It was a pretty plant but none of the phenos had any potency. I had 22 sttains for sell that yearm every single person chose the star pupil first to buy out of all the strains. Then never got it again. It sucked. I even told people before they paid for it. But purple attracts people i guess.

One of the best videos explaining the deficiency and the importance of magnesium as well as transitioning into flower. I have suffered from purple stems in coco recently. Very helpful 👍🏼

  25. Mobius Prolix on October 11, 2022 at 5:20 pm

  26. Stephen Seales on October 11, 2022 at 5:21 pm

Hiiii i need help with my plant 😭😭😭😭😭😭

  27. sean m on October 11, 2022 at 5:22 pm

    Finally I figured it out!
Damn, took me for ever to figure this out. I’m in ground and well into flower. Noticing leave stems that are purple/pink color on newer growth, thought that was normal. Have some taco leave on top main cola. Yellowing then dropping as well.
Hope this is the issue. 👍🏻 good content.

  28. backstreetdriver on October 11, 2022 at 5:25 pm

Thanks for this, I’m trying dry organics in coco and everything is fine other than purple stems ill try foliar cal-mag and see if that fixes it.

  29. Anathema Maranatha on October 11, 2022 at 5:27 pm

    You’re an idiot.

  30. Lazy_Marksman84 on October 11, 2022 at 5:29 pm

Well that’s confusing, seeing as how everyone else’s information tells me that the purpling in leaf stems and stalks is built up nutrition.

  31. Anthony on October 11, 2022 at 5:29 pm

There are some exceptions I know a few pheno that purple stem always

  32. Noah Gallagher on October 11, 2022 at 5:30 pm

Lmao. Bruh those things are root bound AF in those solo cups. Those plants are HUGE for solo cups that’s the real problem here

  33. Santi Gardipee on October 11, 2022 at 5:30 pm

Helps a lot maestro. I have a Bruce Banner #3 that is doing this in veg. Bless up.

  34. Tyler Engerman on October 11, 2022 at 5:31 pm

Im guessing he DID NOT do this on purpose because purple stems have nothing to do with magnesium. When your fan leaves look like they have "tiger stripes" coming in. The more obvious the lines between veins the worse the deficiancy. Purple stems have to do with cold tempatures and your plant not being able to uptake phosperus.

  35. Briyan Alvarez on October 11, 2022 at 5:31 pm

Can someone tell me what happens if you dont treat your babies? Ive never looked into this problem i always thought it was cause my environment was cold for my plants what a mind blower

  36. Jeff Davis on October 11, 2022 at 5:34 pm

My plants are very! Strongest. Still a problem?

  37. Amber Butler on October 11, 2022 at 5:34 pm

  40. Lacie Glaab on October 11, 2022 at 5:37 pm

Glad I watched this! I was told that my plant having purple/redfish stems was a good thing😒…. They were trying to set me up for failure!😐

  41. cody monko on October 11, 2022 at 5:38 pm

I’ve had a cut of querkle for about ten years now. it has purple stems always. had purple stems soon as it germinated. I’ve never seen it with a green stem. when it’s having lockout or issues the stem goes black. but when it’s healthy it’s for sure got a purple stem. I got pics of it. I mean I grown it for a decade. it may be rare but some genetics get purple stems naturally.

  42. Matteo Cicchetti on October 11, 2022 at 5:39 pm

What scale do you measure ppm please <3

  43. Muthrfuqrjonz on October 11, 2022 at 5:39 pm

  44. Kyle Syx on October 11, 2022 at 5:40 pm

    chealate = Key..late
    Nice, video
I’ve always got lucky lowing ph a bit by leaching the grow media w a 50% strength, ph balanced, chealated full spec. Nutrients may take a day recovering but she’ll take off in the next 24-36 hrs
but But Cal Mag works great too.

GREAT VID BUD, NEW SUB 2021.

  46. nate G on October 11, 2022 at 5:42 pm

Hello. Does the same go for a pepper plant? The purple streaks and stuff?

  47. Jonathan Moore on October 11, 2022 at 5:45 pm

    Bull shit

  48. Ryan Riddell on October 11, 2022 at 5:45 pm

I use RO water and I’m on my first grow. All is well, but I use TPS Organic Cal Mag in my water now after I noticed a lot of purple streaking in the stems. I just started using the cal Mag last watering, so we’ll see if it corrects the issue. And yes, grow seems to have slowed.
