When and Why to Salt Flush During Cannabis Flower

When and Why to Salt Flush During Cannabis Flower

The importance of salt flushes

All nutrients are basically salts and these salts build up in the soil.  When the build up of salts gets to a certain point, which depends on what nutrients you’re using, the quantity you’re using them in, and the health, vitality and microbes present in your soil  – the plants can start to get into a lock out where they can no longer uptake certain nutrients.

We like to use SLF for the salt flush – some people like to do a bit with every watering, which can be very expensive and at times unnecessary.  We like to do it once a month or if/when we are experiencing leaf discoloration or issues with the plants.  This is one of our first go-to’s.

There’s no such thing ! it’s over watering rot s the root hairs plant can’t take up nutrients and your showing soil growing and if your using salts in a organic grow you’re killing your microbes 🦠

Stop growing garby bud with salts and no need to flush, living soil blahhhhh

Is there a video in actually flushing the plant? How do you do it? How much water should you use? How much of that product you recommended should we add? What if plants are in the ground? Where will the flushed water run out?

Get rid of bottle nutes!! Stop smoking that garbage!! Feed your soil.. not the plants.. there are no microbes in nuted soil . It strips it!

Something happened to me yesterday got some buds after smoking I had a very salty taste on my lips started look at the bud it was covered in salt even knocking it on a piece of board it was Saul dust coming out of it is there Adding salt minerals to the plant could eventually taste like salt or is it some new trick to increase profit I am Jamaican been smoking marijuana in its natural form for the last 20 years never had an experience like that I still cannot get the salt to taste out of my mouth two days after 2020

Why, when but not how? err… thanks?

  8. jesperkatsimpas on December 10, 2022 at 1:31 am

Hope these fucking donks aren’t actually feeding these outdoorplants nutes……..what a god damn waste of time and money and definitley doing more harm than good. If your going to use chemical nutes then go hydro instead of deactivating all the microbial life with synthetic bullshit. Weedschooling needs to go back to school and learn some basic plant biology! Sheesh!

Switch to organic ferts & nutes you don’t have to worry about flushing.

Flushing is a hassle and it is wasteful. I too did it in the past and to this day it stands as my biggest regret regarding my 20+ years of experience in this field.

When you stop adding salt to the root mass of your plants, then there is nothing to flush… Thus no need to water with run off while growing either, which again is wasteful and no need to collect the drained water from the pot trays, which again just adds to the hassle and increases the RH inside the grow room. Your pots and trays are always calcified due to the salt build up and will need to be cleaned again with a chemical solution of some sort after every harvest if not multiple times throughout the grow! (depending on how much salt one dumps to his plants, of course.)

Using synthetic ferts & nutes, with all due respect, is a retarded practice at the end of the day especially when you consider the fact that it costs more money, time and energy. In addition to all of this, your plants’ terpene development, which should be the number one priority of every grower, is inferior to those of grown with organic ferts and nutes. What a bad deal, ha!

i have an organic garden soil, with natural black soil, compost, peat moss, and sand. my cannabis plant have only 1 month old, and 1 week ago, i saw the entire plant was going to yellowish, it looked like a nitrogen deficiency, so i added a bit of Blood meal 12-0-0 and now i have my leaf tips burning and with rust color. what is the NPK of Compost and peat moss? i dont have this information, so i dont know if my plant will have a lack of something.. i need to wait and see if there,s a deficiency to solve it.

So for now i dont know if i have an overfeeding burn nutrient or a deficiency burn. i only added blood meal 12-0-0 and 3 days later, i added a bit of tomato fertilizer 15-15-30 ( at a tiny amount, so i have like 5-5-10) then if i have a nute burn, that mean Compost and peat moss are extremely rich in nutriments that you dont need to add more.

  19. BlackPatz on December 10, 2022 at 1:44 am

Just dont use nutrients every time you water… use them every second time you water, especially with organics, then you‘ll never overfeed your plants if you water with pure water every once in a while.

  20. TheFrogfeeder on December 10, 2022 at 1:46 am

Don’t have this problem if you use natural and organic ferts…jussayin…
I use various ferts from Down To Earth and E.B. Stone,
build your soil, not your salts

Can you add a video on Soil preperation before planting? then walk through your growth cycle from start to finish? I have watched several videos and I find all your info very good but I would like to see a typical year for growing and harvesting each step of the way through the season like a 6 week cycle, Thanks Videos are point on. Nice job

  48. ClubLulu on December 10, 2022 at 2:16 am

Lets say the plants have just been watered with nutes, and within a day or two begin to show signs of lockout. Would it be proper to wait to flush until the next watering period, or flush immediately as soon as symptoms are showing?

  49. M Monty on December 10, 2022 at 2:17 am

    plain water once a week…sorted

  50. Luke Morter on December 10, 2022 at 2:20 am

Scott a quick question about a flushing issue I am a little worried about. I am doing outdoor in soil fabric pots. I normally don’t do too much flushing as I used all organic amendments and don’t add stuff to my soil. This year I used some nutri3nts that I think I will want to flush before harvest. But usually at harvest time for me I am already dealing with moisture issues and don’t like to water much because it doesn’t dry up.
