I found 5 gallon works decent on autos on a budget found 2 gallon trash just transplant use only on photos, but 5s have done me right.

I like to start in a 4 inch seedling pot then go to a five gallon grow pot then to a 20 gallon pot for the remainder of my grow. I find that as long as I don’t over water my roots will only grow as far as the water goes down. By the time I go from 5 gallon pot to a 20 gallon pot my roots are healthy and my plant is healthy and strong. Of course I use along with my organic fertilizer 1 mil of cal-mag per gallon of distilled water for preventive measure against deficiencies helps quite a bit.

I have a 4 and a half foot plant with some nice sized buds and I’m using a 2 gallon pot lmao. Just curious to see how big I can get in the least amount of soil for fun. So far it’s really not much less than my usual 5 gallon pots. I am very surprised. Only problem(so far) is you can’t skip a single day and miss watering or feeding

  7. Neihc on December 29, 2022 at 5:30 am

Fabric pots ok. The only problem I have with it is that it raise the humidity by a large amount. So if u don’t want to use a dehumidifier 24/7. Stick with the plastic pots

My father wasn’t a good role model or particularly smart, but he had a green thumb and he taught me that if you go for *slightly* root bound before transplant, you get much better result that if the roots have all the leisure in the world. I’ve translated that to my experiments since i started growing, and I’m currently with 3L round plastic pots, getting close to harvest with autos, and I’m expecting roughly 20-30g per plant. I don’t buy in people who grow with multiple gallon pots, I think it is just a small dick size complex lmao. I’m currently wanting to go larger though for my next grow and I’m unsure if I should go for 10 or 15L. I think 10L should be plenty for my small 2×2, so I probably will try it before deciding if moving to 15L is worth it at all. I also tried cloth pots and hated it. I don’t think air pruning is anything more than marketing, because in theory, the density of your medium decides how aerated it is. You shouldn’t rely on your pot to add air to the medium, you should have a good medium mix in the first place. That’s why I love coco, and I definitely think that cloth pots and coco are unnecessary together. Especially since coco works more like aeroponics than soil, it’s not meant to retain water, and therefor cloth pots are a stupid pick with them, I theorize, at least. I don’t think square pots are a great idea because you want the roots to spiral in the pot and take its shape. You just want to prevent roots from choking each other by intertwining too much and making knots. If you have a round pot made of plastic, the roots will naturally be guided the way you want them to, and when comes transplant if needed, you’re also gonna have a much better time, and it’ll encourage more root splitting from the main root mass to expend, rather than the same big roots determining the entire uptake of the whole plant. You want it to act like a fractal, not like a few strands of rope. If you use a square pot, you will make it waste energy doing exploration, you will favor knots, and if you use cloth, you will always stress the root ends forcing it to branch again and again, instead of funneling it into more strands, it will focus on all strands and not have an ideal structure to uptake efficiently. I’m still a beginner, but take this from someone who’s very methodical and had multiple harvests in 3L pots. Next I’m switching to photos though, I wonder if root mass will play a big difference in the flowering there. Needs testing. I think airpots is the best middle ground between plastic pots and fabric pots, but I can’t get them in good quality relatively cheap where I live, so I will stick to plastic for now, until I understand root mass better.

  10. ToxicAvenger360 on December 29, 2022 at 5:33 am

What size pot do i need is for auto flower wont be translated so 1 pot size from baby to bud was looking at 5liters pots but look small in comparison to other pots i see growers using on ebay

  11. Jerome Allegrezza on December 29, 2022 at 5:35 am

Hey guys what do you think about 5 gallon buckets?

  12. KKushOfficial on December 29, 2022 at 5:35 am

Instead of transplanting to bigger pots, I thought it would be a good idea to get a disolvable eco and no chemicals pot small then plant into big pot without removing pot. I would cut some small holes just in case for the roots, but this should firmly hold the plant snug, right? Or do I just plant in big one until harvest with lots of attention, which I’m fine with?

What is the perfect grow tent for four plants

  20. S W on December 29, 2022 at 5:43 am

I ran an outdoor grow last year in a variety of different pots. I had 15 gallon fabric pots, 20 gallon fabric pots and two trash cans (probably close to 60 gallons). The tallest plant by far was in a 15 gallon fabric pot, she was over 12 ft tall. I think genetics had the most to do with it but you can grow monsters with just a 15 gal fabric pot. The only thing about that plant was that I legit had to water her at least twice a day near the end of flower. Sometimes 3 or 4 times. It was crazy.

  21. Cannabis Cultivation TV on December 29, 2022 at 5:43 am

I veg for the first 2.5 weeks in solo cups and then transplant to 3 gallon plastic pots for the rest of the grow. Super easy and the 1 transplant gives me the opportunity to get an idea of root health and also a chance to add some mycorrhiza. Four 3 gallon pots in a 3×3 is the sweet spot for my grow.

  35. Blizzard of Za on December 29, 2022 at 6:05 am

Hey guys I grow in 10 gallon fabric pots in outdoor in New Jersey. It’s a thought environment cause humidity and caterpillars. But in the past I’ve put big kosher tangie into 15 gallon plastic pots and the roots grew right thru the fabric and they stre h for another 2 weeks so I screwed myself but was able to harvest the monster on Halloween in New Jersey. But now I grow in 10-15 gallon fabric but I wrap the outside wit plastic wrap to keep the outer 1”” of soil moist and not bone dry how they get alone. And I water less often. Noticed a way better and healthy plants in full sun. So if this help anyone im glad. But don’t be afraid to but a 5 gallon fabric that I. Flower into a 10+ gallon plastic container and after harvest u won’t be able to remove the fabric out cause roots circle the plastic and even had tap root pop thru. So yeah cannabis roots are strong

  38. Cuzntime on December 29, 2022 at 6:10 am

I found that if your gonna use plastic pots outdoors, use "white" pots.. I have used black plastic pots and on really hot days it burns the roots that reach the outside edge of the pot, even when you drill holes in the side.. I personally like fabric pots even if they are black because the air helps the roots get to the outside edges (more room for the roots) and they never burn..

  39. Nona Hull on December 29, 2022 at 6:10 am

I had an idea I thought I should share. I use cloth pots but I alter them. I sew a clear piece of plastic about 6" x 6" and cut a flap into the fabric so I have a window into my roots.
