Interesting… Why not keep a shackle around instead?
Mr Eon February 14, 2023 at 3:08 pm
Why don’t you close that tighter? I would think the closer that hole is to the rest of the chain would give it a bit more strength to that link
The One And Only Carltonon February 14, 2023 at 3:09 pm
Gets alot stronger if you Peen the end once it through.

Wouldn’t a threaded C-link work in this application? Be easier and stronger.

here’s a video that every professional logge…. homeowner should watch, you only need a workshop vice out in the field to repair your logging chains.
Chris Son February 14, 2023 at 3:22 pm
I don’t think it’s clamped far enough I’d say you’d want a good tail sticking out but I really dk
mgmartinecon February 14, 2023 at 3:22 pm
Why wouldn’t you just use a shackle or a clasp which requires no vise?
Mary Ann Schlearon February 14, 2023 at 3:23 pm
Thanks 👍🫡

You aren’t using a logging chain without something to pull it with… HINT: a truck or a skid steer. Your vice is on the truck. And, lots of rural homeowners log their own property or cut firewood in the forest. You people are city folks obviously.
Kelly Birchfieldon February 14, 2023 at 3:23 pm
I’m sorry but this is how you fix a logging chain for all u homeowners 😆 gotta love it
Mike Bon February 14, 2023 at 3:26 pm

Adkancap Adventureson February 14, 2023 at 3:40 pm
It seems like a d-link, a shackle or a grab hook would be much more practical in the field.
