Arizona cannabis sales top $1 billion mark

The Arizona Dept. of Revenue says cannabis sales passed $1 billion In 2023 and the total includes both recreational and medicinal sales, although only about a third of that is medicinal.

There is a 16% excise tax on recreational sales and this year alone, the state has made more than $174 million by taxing it.

Since it was fully legalized in 2021, Arizona has made almost $400 million. A third of that money goes to community colleges, another third to public safety, and the rest to state highways and the justice fund.

    It’s not real marijuana
If it was real than people should be able to grow it

Yet marijuana shop owners pay their employees so low they cant even afford to improve their lives. Many are poor people working in the shops part time because they wont give them full time, while the owners are making millions. So many times Ive talked with employees and $14 hour doesnt even cover a Value Meal at lunch time.
