Ask Harley | Calcium & Amino Acids – Preventing Powdery Mildew
In this clip from the video lesson on ‘Organic Biostimulants’, part of the Harley Smith Master Grower Video Library, Harley Smith gives a quick rundown on the benefits of amino acids & calcium – and how increased calcium uptake helps to build pectin and prevent powdery mildew.

The NPK RAW Tech-Grade Amino Acid product (http://npk-industries.com/enzymes-aminos_raw_amino_acids.html) is a USP pharmecutical ‘tech-grade’ combination of 2 specific L- amino acids that act as primary chelators for calcium and other critical elements for plant growth and health. It is fully soluble and suitable for hydroponic use. RAW ominA, on the other hand, contains 15-17 different amino acids that act similarly, but they are derived from plant protein (an organic source) – so this product is more geared toward those growing in soil. The products are not redundant, and can be used together for added benefit. L-glycine is a primary calcium chelator and is found in a higher concentration in the Tech-Grade Amino Acids .

Good to know you are really helpful on so many issues thanks Harley
Where’s Harvey
Fantastic videos! Am just beginning to use a Brix meter, not a lot of info out there on process, ie where to select from, processing, how it translates into what is seen, etc. You break things down so well, possible short vid on the subject?
๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ๐๐ฟ We love the series
I realize they went to this one minute format, but we really need more. I recently purchased Omina for use in a regular soil garden. What stages of plant development should we soil drench with Omina? If I do foliar, will that still help in the root zone? I grow giant pumpkins and plan to use it at every leaf node to aid the secondary roots that form. How long does it stay in the soil?
Good info ๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ณ
such a quick teaching can we please go over this in greater detail with some pictures please and thank you
I just discovered this channel and I am loving these videos. I really like Harley and his style of teaching.

So informative, always gems ๐ of wisdom that Ultimately helps my understanding of plant growth ๐ฆ๐บ๐
Who noticed he did not say " it improves calium uptake 1000 times faster" like he always says. There is a reason very little information is provided most of it is closer to bogus rather than fact
How come nothing is mentioned about all of the nitrogen in this Omino product. ?? It’s a 14-0-0…..that is more nitrogen than whats in the All in One Grow fomula. Will I get nitrogen toxicity if I use these two together? Do you only use it in VEG and not in BLOOM? When is the best time to apply and do you need to foilar feed with it as well?
Interesting. How do amino acids improve the uptake of calcium? Calcium is xylem mobile in its ionic form.

what source of amino acids do you recommend to use on plants?
These videos are what heโs been saying for a long time now. But I still do not understand why you would not include information in the video or the description about NPK RAW amino acids. You really do not offer much information about your product Omina(for soil) or Amino Acid(for hydro. I think this would of been a great spot to talk about it or even include it in your description.
Thx for the videos.
i use the RAW/NPK products my plants respond amazingly, happy little tree’s KEEPING OREGON GREEN
What happened to wizard NPK?
This company supports the raciest blm people!!! Woke company ALERT!!!!
How is amino acid applied to the vege garden…by foliar spray, or drenching?
