Balcony Cannabis Grow – How Much Can We Grow Without LED Lights?

In this video I attempt a balcony cannabis grow without any artificial lights! I’m going to grow this plant in front of a window and outside on my balcony. This video takes us through weeks 1 to 4 of this plant’s life cycle. Watch along as we go from seed to budding!

As mentioned Mirror technique 💯. I have done a few indoor PotPlants just for fun and it’s a great tool to use especially if your coming into the colder months with less sun, like here in Australia atm.

Very different than most grows that I watch but i love it!! The only downside is not being able to be organic right? But really cool content!!

Artificial light is only necessary if you are growing indoors or growing at certain times of year that aren’t optimal for fruit growing. Moving the plant outside only increases the risks of damage; birds, weather, insects, theft.
God has provided all we need to sustain a healthy, happy life. It’s the narrow religious minds of inept humans that never reach a level beyond the boundaries of man made religions. The veil over the eyes is yet to be lifted.
Nothing is impossible, but not all things are useful in positive ways. Your life is like a plant.

Marijuana is so dangerous here in North Carolina people are putting fit now Ling fetnal and to the weed drops of it and it is killing people that’s because they will not legalize marijuana in North Carolina So people are in control of it instead of Spencer’s here in North Carolina it is illegal

Mine is in the pre-flowering stage, it just sits in the bathroom, gets rotated a quarter turn a day and put in the cupboard at night now. Couldn’t put it on the balcony unfortunately.

    What species/strain is this?

  17. Spin City NYC on July 15, 2022 at 2:53 am

I’ve had some success with balcony grows. You really need to do low stress training and photoperiods are way more forgiving. You seem to have not got a lot of growth but if you could just veg longer. I would also start my plants indoors under 24/7 lights. When I put my plants outside, they are about the size of your plants at the start of flower.

    Your plants grow quick man!!!

  35. Milos Mihajlovic on July 15, 2022 at 3:17 am

You have to wash this plant with a minimum of 50 liters of water, planting it outside is irreplaceable, it leaves flowers a little slower than self-flowering plants, but when it leaves flowers, the yield is ten times higher, the plant is given by God and the sun is the best plant feeder. I even made a new variety quite naturally, by pollination, not types and varieties, these are fairy tales for small children, I grow 20 years mostly Indica and add a dozen sativa purely because of the oil, which I don’t like otherwise. Sun, nature, water, organic plants and oil from Indica is a much more effective remedy for many diseases, at 8 pm a third of a grain of rice in a capsule and in an hour 🤗🤗🤗

  39. James Sparham on July 15, 2022 at 3:22 am

I balcony grow every season. No grow lights whatsoever. I use soil in 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in the bottom and the sides to allow soil to obsorb oxygen for the roots.

Germination begins mid April and only takes a 7-14 days before starter leaves are fully developed while just sitting on heating pad with plants in a dome. All this happens outside out of direct sunlight.

Transplanting takes place on day 30 into those 5 gallon pales. I let them recover for 7 days. Then they all get topped and get a half dose feeding(6.6pH) and let them recover for another 7 days with 2 early morning watering (6.6pH) during the week. This helps the plants get a taste of what’s coming. I keep the pH at this level to make sure the plant has good uptake of the nutrients. I will gradually lower the pH during the veg phase to hit a target of 6.2pH by early July with feeding taking place twice a week with a watering in between. These feeding are full of calmag, nitrogen, iron, epson salts with a rooting agent. Plants love this in veg and produces an excellent root structures which is very key moving into the flowering phase.

Flowering typically starts mid July so typically will top the plants a few times before flowering happens. I will not too the plants after July 7th to ensure they have fully recovered before flowering starts and won’t do anymore topping. If flowering hasn’t happened by July 25th then I throw the plant(s) into 36 hours of darkness. Basically starving them of a light cycle and it always does the trick. Within a 1-2 days hairs will show everywhere and the plant(s) continue into flower with feedings twice/week trying to max out nutrients ppm and watering between the feeds keeping the 6.2pH. with zero nitrogen and good amount of potassium and calmag and Nectar of the Gods nutrient. The plants tend to stretch rapidly over 2 weeks and then stop. This is when I give the plants a good pruning and watch the buds stack and swell packing on mass. I stop feedings when the plants tell me. Typically feeding stops September 20 or when lower foliage starts to yellow and fall off.

Flushing start late September-early October. This could even be later depending on the strains. Flush will happen for 10 days with regular water 6.6-6.9pH. The tricombs will get cloudy and amber will start to appear. Once 20% amber is present I allow the pot to completely dry up and chop but if the 10 day flush isn’t finished I wait till then. Just make sure the soil is moisture free. So it’s kind of a balancing act and knowing your plants. My plants definitely talk to me throughout the grow and my instincts and knowledge from many many past seasons help.

Once chopped I hang the plant as a whole for 2 weeks in a dark closet. In the closet there is 2 fans and a humidifier. I keep the environment 60% humidity 65°F for a week. Never throw direct wind or water at the plants. Have the fans blowing at the wall and defuse the humidifiers port. We are looking for humid turbulent flow. The second week I drop the humidity to 50% and temp to 60°F if possible. 65°F will still work. The reason why I hang the plants as a whole for a few weeks is to allow all the clorophyll to be used up and really allow the buds flavors ripen. Once the stems pop without breaking or snapping I will break the plants down into big black touts. There they will stay for a week and I will open the tout twice a day for 15 minutes. After a week of burping the tout I will prepare the buds for final trimming and curing in large mason jars. I fill the jars 80% full and never pack down the buds. Loose buds cure better. Once the buds are in the jars I will burp them twice a day for 15 minutes in a 58%-63%humidity closet for a month. Keeping these conditions are important. Once the month of burping jars is done. I store the buds in a dark cool place open the jars only every week to check the smells over a few months. Come Christmas the curing should be complete and tasting the fruits of the labor. I haven’t been disappointed using my technique and I don’t ever go to far from that formula cause of the growing conditions. Balcony growing here is the same every year. So timing is everything.

I hope you read this and find something useful in it. Any questions go ahead fire away. The only really differences between my conditions and yours is sunlight. I get direct sun from 9am-7pm and I face south. You face south and get first light to mid day sun. Only suggestion I can make with that is when the plants are 6 weeks or younger keep them out of the early day direct sunlight and do all watering and feeding at first light. This will help keep bugs and insects from making homes on the plants and in the soil. Watering during the day will cause to much evaporation and watering at night will promote environments for insects to thrive. Let your plants drink all day and

can i ask your advice, i have 2 plants growing on my windowsill facing south so they get a good 10-12 hours of sunlight, they’re about 10 days old but doing really good, i tend to leave them mainly on the inside windowsill but pop them on the outside windowsill for about 2-3 hours a day so it gets some fresh air and also so they don’t get too hot because of the window, i always keep a thermometer resting on my pots and usually it gets up to 30 celsius some days due to the summer starting so i have to put it on the outside sill to keep them from burning and also have to keep turning them so they don’t get too lopsided like in this video, i always worry that putting them outside on the windowsill will attract pests but im on the middle floor (second story) so i was wondering if this lessens the chance of pests making a home in my pots! also after sundown i stick them under a lamp in my closet which i’ve turned upside down and attached to my tripod which doesn’t give off hardly any heat so i can keep my plants about 2-3 inches from the bulb without the worry of burning and i’m hoping it will help keep them from getting long and skinny, also put a fan on whilst they’re in there to try and strengthen those stems and usually they’re under the lamp from 9pm-3am and then back on the inside windowsill in darkness for a few hours ready for the next day, also i don’t have any plant food but once the first two main leaves grew about a week in i made up a homemade feed mix i found online using a very small amount of coffee granules dissolved in water, urine and plenty of water to dilute it down just until i can get my hands on some proper store nutrients. is there anything else i can do to keep them growing healthy and avoid pests or am i doing everything right? it’s just a very small experimental grow from some seeds that came out of some unwanted bud a friend gave me and they germinated surprisingly well with long thick taproots so at the moment for all i know they could both be male! but i generally love plants and gardening in general so if they turn out female that will be a big bonus! thanks in advance 🙂
