Nutrient Shift
The nutrient requirements of cannabis will change as it starts flowering with less demand for nitrogen and more phosphorus and potassium being needed.
However, this is within reason you can not force feed plants high amounts of nutrients without damage
There is no exact ideal ratio of N-P-K fertilizer, but growers should be careful not to over add nutrients since this can cause damage to the plants.
Also, you can continue to use Veg or Grow nutrients as this are often kept in rotation for the duration of the growing cycle.

Fertilizer Ratios
When you and the plant are adjusting through the growing cycle, but sure to keep an extra eye on your plants and continue to keep a diligent log.
Good starting point is to go with a consider…
2-1-2 ratio during Veg/Grow
1-2-1 ratio used in rotation with the Veg formula during the flowering phase

Do Not Forget About Calcium
While the main three primary nutrients are also the focus growers should often be on the lookout for calcium deficiency as well as this tends to be more common later in the season.
Unless you are growing in coco coir where this threat exists during the entire growing cycle.

Final Flower Development
Weeks 6, 7, and 8 make up the final stages of flowering for most strains.
Flower development is often determined by inspecting the trichomes and tracking the change in color.
As this color change occurs, often growers will reduce and flush their plants with plain water.

This will ensure there are no fertilizer residues in the buds which could impact the final product.

I’ve tried finding studies that support the notion of nutrient shift but I have not found any. Are there any that you could recommend on the subject?
