Hello Is it okay to turn off the pump and air when the light is off?
How can you protect yourself from leakage? What to lay on the floor? Just in case, so as not to flood everything around.
i’m doing a 3inch pvc pipe with a 3inch pvc pipe. what size hole saw do i need to fit the 3inch current culture bulk head?

Great vid but the way the pump is oriented, the return line that you are referring to is actually the feed line. On second thought, you could refer to it as a return line, returning to the system… I was think return as in, returning to the reservoir.

You kept calling the supply line the return. The return needs to be 2x the seze of the supply, doing it backwards would cause a serious problem. Lol

So confused why you need to use the sanitary tees that you need to cap off instead of just a 90?
Why is a hydroponic system RDWC where the nutrient solution circulates, better than a hydroponic system DWC (Solo), where the nutrient solution remains in one tank, but oxygen is also supplied there through air stones? Why when does the solution circulate it better?

I’m confused a lil bit the 4 system, 3 plants and one rez why is there another pipe from the back straight to the rez. what’s that for I thought water cycles to the rez then the pump pushes water back for a continuous cycle

Watching him use that much pvc cement was painful.
Try drilling plastic with drill in reverse, sounds crazy but I’ve been plumbing for over 20 years. Makes a clean hole and is much safer.

I have 4 5 gallon pots and 1 5 gallon Reservoir do I account for all 5 pots or just the 4 pots with plants when adding nutrients?

In the video you say it is suction but all the pumps I am seeing have the output on top. Does it really matter which way it is circulating as long as it is circulating? Thanks

You can use 2" threaded cleanout instead of a glue cap on those ends, and instead of using sanitary tees, I would use straight tees (sanitary tees are made to flow in a specific direction for "gravity" setups) on the pipe coming out the RES and on the other end. Also they make 2" to 1" reducers or bushings. You could go , 2" to 1" Bushing, 1" pipe back to res, 1" to 1/2" bushing, to 1/2" to 1/2" socket adapter to pump. I recommend teflon tape on all threaded ends and bulkheads.
I have a question, I’m doing an rdwc with 27gl totes, 1 for res, and 1 in my 3×3 tent for now until I get my room together. My question is, is running 2 27gl totes? How much has to be in the res for the system to flow properly and maintain water level? Would it be a full 27gls of water that will reticulate between the res and the plant tote?

If you want straight cuts with a pvc cutter you have to spin the pipe while slowly closing the cutter it makes a perfect cut everytime. Thanks for the videos man appreciate the info.

Will this system fit in a 5×5 tent
When using a hole saw on plastic, run the drill forwards until the drill bit penetrates the bucket then finish the cut running the drill in reverse. Cleaner cut.
When building these buckets. If I was to use 8 gallon sqaure buckets will I get away with 2 inch bulk heads?.. does your roots clog up the pvc pipes.
