Canada's cannabis products routinely mislabelled, a Nova Scotia study finds
Since Canada legalized cannabis in 2018, sales have skyrocketed to an industry now worth $4 billion a year in the country.
But Nova Scotia scientists have made troubling discovery over the products – cannabis strains are being regularly mixed up and mislabelled on the shelves.
The Cannabis Council of Canada, which represents more than 700 licensed growers in the country, suggests it’s a lingering effect from the illegal cannabis market.
Ross Lord looks at how exactly it’s messing up the marketing over scientific facts – and why it could be dangerous.

Why doesn’t Nova Scotia do a study on how to provide a way to make a living. Develop the province
Thanks Trudeau for the absolute bonkers regulations that serve to do nothing at all.
So many factors contribute to effects. Cannabinoid content and ratios. Terpenes content and ratios.
If vaping, temperature effects what cannabinoids and terpenes are vaporized and made available and in what quantities. Amount of cannabis consumed has a very large effect and large amounts of the same bud can have opposite effects to small amounts or microdosing. It is up to the individual to learn the strains, techniques and LPs that provide the results they desire. A diary of use with this info logged can be invaluable for this.
The legal market makes it much much easier to repeat the results desired by using the same LPs and strains, temps, amounts etc. Using different strains, LPs etc every time makes it almost impossible to predict results. This can be fun for recreational users but medicinal use requires some effort on the part of the patient to achieve consistent results. It is definitely possible though.
It’s funny how that works. I order my stuff directly from a country that has been in this industry for at least 30 plus years. The illegal market transition should have never occurred and pure genitic strains from country we know and love could have been put in place rather easily. Also this government packaging is a joke and such a waste to the environment. Weed supposed to be bought in bulk and placed into a nice zip lock bag. Instead we have heavy plastic and cardboard waste being produced so the government gets it’s tax due and that’s all it ever cares about instead of making the price reasonable and good for the environment. Also they added a 10% tax to buying weed.
I confirmed a successful transfer of $12,000 thanks to 👆 this lockdown had not been bad after all
For a so called expert what is he basing his findings off. Sativa means tall and skinny and indica means short and stout. These people are talking about things they don’t understand.
People should know what goes into growing this medicinal plant. Thanks for reporting 👍
Because the government can’t get anything rite!
Just look at TRUDJOKE and all his lies and deception over the last 6 years!!
TRUDJOKE’S plan is to raise taxes and bring in one million immigrants a year or more!
That way he can continue to borrow money at alarming rates , 425 million dollars a day!!!!!
I confirmed a successful transfer of $12,000 thanks to 👆 this lockdown had not been bad after all
I believe a company called Global Cannabis Application Corp has a solution to this problem.
Are we surprised our reject government screwed something else up? Trudeau couldnt manage a lemonade stand, god help us with that reject in charge of our once great country.
Aerosol is what worries me the most it can causes a heart attack..
Woohoo! Annapolis Cider Company lol
How about the THC amounts that are completely wrong but they price it based on thc level? You don’t know what you are getting until you pick up the bud, look at it, smell it. Where it comes off the plant makes a big difference as well.
The Nova Scotia liquir commission is selling expired cannabis gummies . I bought one brand of gummies 6 monthes ago and they were red . The same brand and lot batch sat on their shelves for another 5 months and the gummies have lost their colour on one side and faded to white. I know this because I recently purchased the same brand of gummy edibles . The flavour has also deteriorated and become bitter . What’s with the incompetent management at the liquir commission ? The brand name is Tidal so please don’t buy them .
Weed is weed seriously I don’t go by the names
Same case with a lot o fish products too. No real tuna in the "tuna" at subw@y either but life goes on..
Lawless dysfunction is the cornerstone of the lawless style government of Canada!
In my opinion Canada is today country without future;
