It’s not the cannabis it’s the system

  3. @c0c0banks on April 24, 2024 at 8:50 am

I don’t understand that MJ is legalized because you still can go to jail for it and you can’t get it unless you have a card. How is it legal then? It’s like we have rights but we don’t. I asked my Dr a year ago for a document to help me get a cannibis card. Even though I have ailments that it certainly could ease the pain of I’m still unable to obtain it legally which puts me in a compromising situation legally every time I decide to use it. How is it legal then?

Capitalism is crumbling. Poverty has doubled.
In Compton they robbed and emptied a bakery. People are hungry. Crime follows the money. Look at Sam Bankman Fried. Ridiculous reporting to try to tie them together. Corrupt Media Propaganda

  5. @melissagarrido-df8qo on April 24, 2024 at 8:51 am

yes and no. There are many more factors that encourage criminal activity. I am sure if we didnt have cannabis business, thieves would just move to the next money making endeavor aka similar source of money / merchandise to steal. There is a huge number of vehicles thefts and thriving stolen parts market,,, and its def not the cars fault.

  6. @fourshowdoo on April 24, 2024 at 8:53 am

kntv interviewed idiots. The weed addicts have to rob, carjack, embezzle, loot, purse snatch, etc. to "medically treat themselves recreationally."

  7. @tiredcaballero on April 24, 2024 at 8:53 am

So mow the cannabis did this, not the guns? Ban indoor cultuvated cannabis, and buy-back and ban guns in the city. Metal detectors everywhere, I say

  8. @nicolasptrsn on April 24, 2024 at 8:53 am

"Legal pot dispensaries have helped to curb the underground market." That is a ridiculous and categorically false statement.

All these dopeheads have destroyed California.

  17. @benjaminnunes9636 on April 24, 2024 at 9:06 am

Usage is the problem the users become desperate for their drugs and will commit crimes to do so the businesses aren’t the problem for the Bay Area though fentanyl is the most used/abused drug here

  18. @thetruthonlyplease on April 24, 2024 at 9:06 am

Growing at home is a problem too people break into the house so they can take your plants ☘️😢

  19. @johnmausteller on April 24, 2024 at 9:07 am

Deeper issue. Yes. People having kids , that shouldn’t be

  20. @kcalb3180 on April 24, 2024 at 9:07 am

instead of wasting time on statistics/numbers of crime that relates to Marijuana, why not look into the statistics/majority on the kind of people that commit those crimes?

  21. @davinxi5926 on April 24, 2024 at 9:07 am

Those church dispensary and mushroom are crime and sketxhhyhhh

  22. @seadweller386 on April 24, 2024 at 9:07 am

You mean drug crimes didn’t disappear like the dems and pot supporters claimed it would? I am shocked.

  23. @bigfishy7816 on April 24, 2024 at 9:08 am

Criminals hopped up on dispensary weed is why there so much crime in Oakland! The outrageous prices for there weed makes the addicts desperate for money to get their next fix . It’s called dope for a reason 👍🏿

  24. @dgieringer1395 on April 24, 2024 at 9:08 am

Federal laws make cannabis businesses attractive targets for crime. Unlike other legal businesses, cannabis businesses are subject to federal banking regulations that prevent them from being able to access financial services; as a result, they are cash-only businesses. Robbers and burglars seek out cash-rich targets. A bill to fix federal banking regulations so as to allow normal banking services for cannabis, the so-called SAFE Banking Act, has been stalled in Congress by partisan bickering. The federal laws against cannabis actually function as a crime-creation program, whose major beneficiaries are criminals and drug cops. Fix the federal laws, and cannabis stores will be safer than liquor stores.

  25. @Lora-G on April 24, 2024 at 9:09 am

Nonsense. Crime hits restaurants, jewelry shops, 7-11’s so don’t blame weed. Blame raising babies on GTA or poverty but weed – no

  26. @elco-sn2pq on April 24, 2024 at 9:11 am

Now every robber knows where the grow operations are. Before they had to be brave to run inside someone’s house and take on a known drug dealer. Plus P. Price will help them out if they get caught. But again we voted for it.

  27. @johnanderson8046 on April 24, 2024 at 9:12 am

Cannabis begets crimes??? Gee, who woulda thought?

  28. @angelahaller8704 on April 24, 2024 at 9:14 am

Oakland leaders encourage violence, chaos, protests.etc. No stores,no professional sports, no jobs. There are plenty of programs, commissions ,commitees, groups paid very well to help eliminate crime. Nothing working yet???

  29. @carlitodcreative on April 24, 2024 at 9:15 am

Prop 47 , progressives and "BLM / Defund the Cops" movements are the cornerstone of the out of control crime in CA.

  30. @jeschr3462 on April 24, 2024 at 9:17 am

What? Drugs and Crime being related? No wayy! Or how about homelessness? Don’t you guys think marijuana is a gateway into harder drugs that make people addicted and homeless?

  31. @middleguy1776 on April 24, 2024 at 9:18 am

So money must cause crime as well. Only a low intelligence person blames inanimate objects for crime. How about blaming the criminals?

  32. @AlexRocks24-7 on April 24, 2024 at 9:18 am

    Poor Oakland 😞
It’s going down down down 😞

  35. @hyphydan on April 24, 2024 at 9:26 am

Asians hate Cannabis, KTVU must be ran by Chinese

  36. @4damula on April 24, 2024 at 9:26 am

marijuana was a lifeline for many people native to oakland. People came from all over California to purchase marijuana from the streets of oakland. from the big as bammer bags on 71 to the red fence, 82nd, 89th, sabrante park, all the way back down to bushrod in the north oakland. That’s how the community fed their families. legalization took the money out of the streets. High costs of living and desperation are driving these people to commit crimes. so yes, cannibus legalization has a lot to do with crime. Right along with gentrification.

  37. @daveo643 on April 24, 2024 at 9:28 am

Anyone that knows anything about the world of drug use, knows criminal activity is intertwined with it.

  38. @marcusfaasisila4057 on April 24, 2024 at 9:29 am

its not cannabis its the system… yall so worried about cannabis increasing crime but that has nothing to do with crime… its the theives they target whatever is up for grabs and since theres a shit load of weed at a dispensary and theives are not afraid of the police they will steal from the dispensary… now if there were no dispensaries then of course this problem wouldnt exist… but its just not fair to say that cannabis increases crime

  39. @MrJuvefrank on April 24, 2024 at 9:29 am

I hate to open my back door and smell the pot coming from my neighbor’s place, and I hate it when I go to the store, and the parking lot smells like pot. In 1990, if you would have told the public pot would be legal, they would have laughed at you.

  40. @tvviewer4500 on April 24, 2024 at 9:30 am

How about parents made out of prescription drugs having children that are defective begets crime?

  41. @4FYTfa8EjYHNXjChe8xs7xmC5pNEtz on April 24, 2024 at 9:32 am

It burns out brains. The strength of the strains sold now is many times that of the doobies you smoked in high school. Some of the edibles have over 90% THC content.

I always hated pot anyway. "Oh, it relaxes me." Yeah, whatever, burnout.

  42. @caesard.8711 on April 24, 2024 at 9:33 am

Crime is up in Oakland because crime has been decriminalized in Oakland.

  43. @bataremerson1970 on April 24, 2024 at 9:36 am

The difference is that California in the past held criminals accountable for the crime. The criminal has become a victim of his upbringing nowadays and is not held accountable for their crimes because of skin color. Wtf. Isn’t that in itself racist?

  44. @alihakimi1707 on April 24, 2024 at 9:38 am

Dumbest news piece I’ve seen in ages. I can see why news has lost all viewership

  45. @davinxi5926 on April 24, 2024 at 9:39 am

    I hate the smell of

  46. @georgeallen4007 on April 24, 2024 at 9:40 am

Weed might be legal but it’s so taxed by the state that it’s just cheaper to buy it off the street

  47. @SFPhilo on April 24, 2024 at 9:44 am

    Thats where the cash is.

  48. @mrm4557 on April 24, 2024 at 9:45 am

You know cancer rate increases dramatically especially for non smoker because of these stupid laws
