Cannabis Grow Room Airflow Simulation: Vertical and Horizontal Air Circulation | Fluid Dynamics
This simulation shows how 14 high-velocity fans work together to circulate the air in the room on both a horizontal and vertical axis.
37′ x 60′ x 12′ Enclosed Cultivation Room
(8) 22″ High-Velocity Fans above the canopy
(6) HVTCs below the canopy to scrub the floor of heavier CO2 and direct it upward
To reduce calculation time, the outputs of the High-Velocity 22s were approximated and replicated with a simple spiraling inlet based on empirical data gathered and reduced by 40% to represent a real fan turned down to a lower power setting. The HVTCs are shown with airflow reflecting what was directly measured from a production fan. Heat was ignored in this simulation as its effect would be negligible in the face of so much driven air movement mixing the volume of the room. A block was placed to represent the space taken up by each canopy under the assumption that the density of plants would create a total blockage of airflow.
