If you are skeptical of the benefits to society of legalizing marijuana, could you please reply to this comment to share your reasoning why you’d be against it? I would really like to hear your opinion.

I’m a federalist on this issue. The question of marijuana should not be up to the federal government it should be a state’s rights issue. California wants to legalize marijuana then so be it but if the state of Idaho does not want to legalize it then that should be their right. We should not be forcing states to accept marijuana if they don’t want to.

  12. Utopia 405 on July 10, 2022 at 11:18 pm

I don’t understand how DC can have it recreational but it’s still a schedule 1 federally…

  13. OrelYosif on July 10, 2022 at 11:19 pm

The fact that state and federal laws can contradict each other is retarded.

  14. James Russell on July 10, 2022 at 11:20 pm

You forgot to highlight Connecticut when mentioning states that legalized recreational cannabis.

  15. Del Crowe on July 10, 2022 at 11:20 pm

Marijuana is completely legal in Canada.

  17. Ants on July 10, 2022 at 11:24 pm

  18. Jacob Knott on July 10, 2022 at 11:27 pm

Truthfully they should legalize cannabis completely across the United States start growing the hell out of it cuz you can make anything from Cannabis almost and then base our currency on it because of petrol dollars about the collapse

  19. InugamiTheHound on July 10, 2022 at 11:27 pm

House Democrats voted in favor of legalizing weed, The Senate needs to approve and POTUS needs to sign it.

  22. darkranger116 on July 10, 2022 at 11:29 pm

Americans got psy-op’d by the elites and owners of the interconnected businesses of the prison system. Prison owners literally MAKE MONEY off of how many people they can fill. Its rigged. Its always been rigged. The working class are cattle to be stuck and bled dry. This is why the general perception of the justice system has turned to one of "you’re guilty until you can prove your innocence".

The raegan and nixon administrations, let alone the individuals themselves, did so much more damage to this country than people fully realize. They literally sold out the american people, black working class to be specific in most cases, to line their pockets.

Its not enough to have a distaste for neo-liberal capitalism. You have to actively disdain it, in order to fully realize what it has become, and it has done to western society.

  23. Doge 2024 on July 10, 2022 at 11:32 pm

Cough medicine is schedule 5?! The notion that there is a low risk of abusing cough syrup is complete bullshit. Look at all the people sipping what they call "lean" every day. The US government really is unbelievably fucking stupid.

  24. Maarten T on July 10, 2022 at 11:34 pm

Oh Amsterdam is banning tourists from buying weed because that would ‘help’ regulation and these tourists will of course not go to dealers now which may sell synthetic weed…. We started off great but legalization is far away in The Netherlands….

  25. GM Arcbolt on July 10, 2022 at 11:35 pm

I live in a state that made it legal. Crime went down, taxes went up, and the overall mood of the state improved slightly.

  26. Albino Peach on July 10, 2022 at 11:35 pm

All narcotics should decriminalize all drugs and legalize weed and psilocybin. Then defund the police (since it doesn’t need to make as many arrests) and divert funding to healthcare and public safety. Making drugs a crime issue instead of a health issue has killed thousands

  27. Pepe Romo on July 10, 2022 at 11:35 pm

The first step was really when Oregon decriminalized it in ’73.

  28. Trockenmatt on July 10, 2022 at 11:36 pm

I live in Oregon, where it’s legal, and we haven’t all bursted into flames yet

  29. Sorting Out My Clothes on July 10, 2022 at 11:37 pm

Why is marijuana illegal? Like, I don’t understand why.

  30. John Broward on July 10, 2022 at 11:37 pm

Marijuana possession should definitely be decriminalized. It’s silly to do jail time for having a few grams of a dried up plant in your pocket that, while I would definitely not recommend smoking, isn’t going to kill you. The sale of marijuana for recreational usage by non-licensed individuals should be criminal however. The only way to clean up this country is to fix the people’s diet (strict laws should be enacted on what ingredients are allowed in foods), what they see on TV (no more degeneracy and violence), and fix how people escape reality (favor pursuit of tradition, family values, and religion if one chooses over hedonistic pleasures like drugs and alcohol). Do this and in just a generation you will see a return to something that resembles a normal society unlike the miserable drugged-up open-air mental asylum we call the modern United States.

  31. Stratelier on July 10, 2022 at 11:38 pm

Currently, marijuana is allowed (to some extent) in 33 states — five more would be enough majority to amend the federal Constitution itself. Regardless of your opinion, it seems the writing is on the wall….

If you’re going to talk about US stop saying shedule

  33. Justin Pearce on July 10, 2022 at 11:40 pm

I’m for it if it’s kept behind closed doors (actually might want to leave a door open) and to their own social functions (if they want to socialise).
But does a problem lie in more people taking up this dirty unhealthy habit and becoming pot heads.

  34. Colonizer-Chan on July 10, 2022 at 11:40 pm

I love how we can go to any point in US history and find the 10th amendment always being tested like mad.

  35. Tyler Adams on July 10, 2022 at 11:41 pm

Mississippi Supreme Court overturned our vote so it’s not legal here medically

  36. Duck 0351 on July 10, 2022 at 11:42 pm

The US is much more liberal about weed than europe.

  37. Victor Ding on July 10, 2022 at 11:44 pm

The federal government should stay away from marijuana legislation. Let each state make their own decisions. People from different states are entitled to their own opinions.

  38. JWil42 on July 10, 2022 at 11:46 pm

The precedent that the federal government can regulate intrastate commerce should be thrown out; it was made after FDR blackmailed SCOTUS (they had previously said otherwise before being blackmailed)

I hope not! Where would be the fun of smoking if it was legal?!? 🙄🙄🙄
I guess I’ll just move on to crack.

  44. Richard Welsh on July 11, 2022 at 12:01 am

It’s sad to me how much disinformation still floats around about this. The disinformation about marijuana has done more damage than the marijuana ever could

  45. Ian Weetman | Ion + The Spectres of Light on July 11, 2022 at 12:02 am

As a Canadian? All I can do is look on with sadness about how long it takes to defeat a handful of crusty old f*cks who still don’t and will probably never get it… LEGALIZE IT ALREADY!

  46. Desmond Booker on July 11, 2022 at 12:05 am

    Should’ve been legal longgggg ago

  47. Brandon Ravia on July 11, 2022 at 12:05 am

The federal government really just needs to back the fuck off and mind their own business. I have CDL and only smoked at home at the end of the day. But I was treated like a outcast. Mean while we have people who can’t even do their job correctly that are allowed to smoke. Tired of these double standards

  48. Director James on July 11, 2022 at 12:07 am

I don’t understand why people wanna make this stuff legal…It’s practically killing yourself. I went onto the CDC website and looked at what it says, the stuff is terrible for you. It harms your lungs, it has the same cancer causing chemicals as tobacco, it can impede brain function, it increases the chance of heart attacks and strokes, can cause severe depression to the point of suicidal thoughts, and more.

This stuff kills people. Everyone who uses it has a 10% chance of addiction, and it can ruin the lives of those who are addicted, as they cannot stop even if it is harming aspects of their life. It should not be treated as a felony, It should be treated as a medical issue. People who get addicted should get medical care, and we should fine those who use it, but aren’t addicted. Fines are much better than prison sentences. It brings in income for the government and doesn’t defeat the purpose of having it be illegal. The goal is to have people not ruin their lives, imprisoning them does what we are seeking to prevent.

As of July 2021, my home state of Connecticut legalized recreational usage too 🙂 we’re still yellow on your map at the beginning!
