  5. Wicked Est on June 15, 2022 at 8:22 am

The compound used in cloning gels & powders actually effects the plant over time causing problems that’s blamed on the genetics but it’s basically the plant gets weak & cause have more freak effect & clones from a homie is & isn’t good thing cause the more cuts a plant gets away from the seed the more problems as I just said above

  6. Charly's farm420 on June 15, 2022 at 8:25 am

More great content…. genetic drift is extremely rare, I have a a couple strains almost 2 decades old… though mother nature is unpredictable, my experience and within the science community they’re put in the category of "Clones" for a reason! Not saying funky shit hasn’t happened, but that’s a discussion for another day lol wishing you guys the best this holiday and Green New Year👊✌

  7. Beaukneaus on June 15, 2022 at 8:26 am

When it comes to ‘keeping genetics’ doesn’t it make more sense to harvest seeds? I mean, I realize that a clone is a clone of not only a genetic but of a specific pheno. What are the pros/cons of making seeds instead of mother plants?

Hey guys what about taking clones from a clone. I take clones of multiple female plants grown from seed to find my pheno but I m still a little unsure of taking clones from 2nd, 3rd generation and so on. Is this ok to do this from feminised seeds?

  10. Tim Jones on June 15, 2022 at 8:29 am

Hey so a friend was saying to cut the top bud off and plant it in water and put it under light to maximize bud growth, will this kill the plant or cause it to grow more to maintain it as a mother plant?

I know my question is geared more for outdoor growing but I watched a video of these dudes in Mendocino who have the Guinness book of World records biggest cannabis plant & biggest yield off 1 plant EVER as well & they have a giant mother plant in their back yard thats 3 yrs old, how does that plant 1st off NOT bud up in Croptober? And 2nd how does it NOT die in the freezing cold weather etc..?

  15. Seiyuōkami Himura on June 15, 2022 at 8:35 am

My only mother is maui waui. (Only other plant is a female im purposely bonsai’ing) Shes bouncing back well after a switch from a greenhouse to a tent, and switching lights. 4 foot tall, 12 main branches, 64 sub branches between the 12 main. Edit. The problem was, after switching lights and tents, i couldnt tell what the plants actually looked like and i went overboard on nutes causing nutrient burn.

Can you grow a mother plant in dwc or coco?

  22. Seiyuōkami Himura on June 15, 2022 at 8:43 am

Do you guys need to make cuts even if you dont need clones monthly? I find i do. But i also try to encourage as much sub branching as possible via topping so there are always branches being cut to either clone, or promote more branching. I love a good sub branch system. Looks absolutely amazing.

  23. GONE CHiLL on June 15, 2022 at 8:43 am

Best led on Amazon with veg and bloom switch but amazing with veg any recommendations????

  24. buddinghappiness330 on June 15, 2022 at 8:43 am

I can explain the rule right now for clones and its not bro science its grow science.. Direct genetic drift can and only happens when the cutting is not as healthy as the mother it came from .. this is common from not prepping the mother the cutting is gonna be cut from and when i say prep i mean two weeks before im in organic soil plus ammendments i go with a balanced mild feeding including npk cal mag sulfur all the essential building blocks .. And the hopes for that are basically To get in your nutrition build up in the stem cells so that they can turn into roots before the plant declines that’s the whole point of taking cuttings were tricking a plan to stay alive long enough for her to turn her stem cells into root cells

  25. Chris Koucouthakis on June 15, 2022 at 8:44 am

Ya I do know what u mean about how 3rd & 4th & beyond generations become MUCH lesser quality than the original mother or 1st clone made from it, my Father In Law had a Purple Hash plant & he cut about 30 clones off it over a span of 1 1/2 yrs and pretty soon the buds that grew on the final clones he made had tiny thin little buds with a weak fragrance, little to NO purple color on the buds when the Mother plant grew buds that were damn near 90% purple & potent as hell but he didn’t know to keep a mother so once he made clone after clone off another clone’s clone pretty soon he’d was lucky to even yield an 8th off 1 plant. I heard u say that u kept a mother for 3 yrs as well just like these guys I’m talking about, so did u just have to keep it under 24/7/365 light? And don’t plants EVENTUALLY HAVE to bud up at a certain point? How do you get it back into veg after it flowers? I’ve never personally made clones off plants (except once cuz it was a clone ONLY strain & to this day is THE BEST strain I’ve EVER smoked or grown BUT it’s gotta be CLOSE to non existent by now cuz I haven’t heard of ANYONE in my city who has a clone of it & nobody has even mentioned it’s name except me in 5+ yrs

  26. Dawid Stone on June 15, 2022 at 8:47 am

Hello guys I have a question. If I take a clone can I make that clone a mother plant ?

So you’re just keeping the mother plant in vegetation forever and you’re never flipping it to flower? But you have clones of the mother before you flipped it to flowering stage?
