I think the roots grow faster,enough to survive..One thing I do is re- cut the end so it can take up nuits.

Do you water your new cuttings at all after transplant into the soil within the first 7 days? Or are you just doing an initial watering when transplanted and waiting for them to root before a second watering? Also do you ever mist the leaves?
