Keep irrigation water cool, the potential oxygen carrying capacity of water is significantly reduced as temperature approaches 20c

Once was enough for me, it’s strange though, half the roots had rot, but the plant was amazing….half the roots were white….still never again, that was my first grow..I’m on eight now..little more knowledge.

Warmer water will hold less oxygen….cooler water you can super saturate the water with oxygen.

I had it earlier in my growing. I started flushing & all of a sudden I smell like eggs or sulfur anyone who spent any time in Fla knows when you start the shower. My first few days down there

Do you rinse coco coir before use?

  36. Gravity Storm on July 16, 2022 at 3:23 am

One of my plants got watered the night before an unexpected morning rainstorm that dropped a 20 minute downpour and drowned it. I had to drill holes in the 15 gallon pot. And afterward connected my fish tank air pump. Placed 2 hoses with sandstones in the lowest holes and ran the pump for 6 hours. Relocated to holes 4” above and ran it for another 4 hours. It had to have helped. No root rot. Harvested yesterday. Some powdery mildew I rinsed off with water and Hydrogen peroxide. Hopefully it all goes well.
If I grow in pots again, I’ll be sure to cut holes in the bottom to drain into the soil.

I elevated my fabric pots on round cookie drying racks I got off Amazon for pretty cheap, works great.

I think I have this problem like most beginners I was watering to much now I’m seeing brown coloring I’m guessing transplant what y’all think bout it

  42. Chris Hughes on July 16, 2022 at 3:28 am

I’m pretty sure my 2 girls in 1 gallon pots are root bound and have been smelling moldy smells. You definitely answered my problem!!!!!!! Can I transplant into 3 gallon pots and and is there a way to clean it up???? Need help asap!!!!!

  43. monsterhunter445 on July 16, 2022 at 3:29 am

Transplanting sounds scary especially for a beginner. I don’t have root rot in my first grow but I did make the mistake of using 3 gal potting soil in a 5 gal pot. which means I am missing potential yield. I could transplant but I am new and just playing it safe next seeds which I still got plenty will fill the pot all the way. 3 gal is what the minimum said

  47. Queen Christopher The Merciful 🤴 on July 16, 2022 at 3:31 am

On my first grow I got a little overzealous with the water and had a root rot issue so I did what I’m calling the scorched earth method, I raised the pot put a fan real close let the soil dry for 2 days like that’ it was bone dry, added a diluted hydrogen peroxide mixture waited 2 days then top dressed with compost and put 2 dozen earthworms in there to help aerate the soil and get the good bacteria from the compost down in the soil, 1 week later no bad smell and my cherry cheesecake was looking happy.

  48. User619 TLSDCA on July 16, 2022 at 3:31 am

Ive grown most of my plants outdoor with exception in Winter of growing indoors. I have yet come across Root Rot due to video lessons like this one that gave me an overall perspective of the issues. Ive notice Root Rots is more common of Indoor grows then outside. Its likely the soil used for Indoor is not getting dried out as it would naturally of outdoor plants besides the outdoor plant getting direct sunlight to soil which helps a lot. Indoor use of watering soil is always damped of not getting sun to help induce more light nutrients in soil and leaving plant exposed to damp soil of moments where soil becomes warmly humid of not getting dried up. Heat Mats are used for some but you have to ensure it get heated up enough from being still damp and warm for Root Rott. There are answers to solution but best advice are from ppl like 420 scene and giving you a great perspective for the concerns to avoid..

    Great content as always 👍

  50. Cracks on July 16, 2022 at 3:31 am

Great info as usual, thanks – raising your pots is the best advice. I use these (not a sponsor); they hold 3 3 Gal pots but 2 5 Gals is better:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/CITY-PICKERS-24-5-in-x-20-5-in-Charcoal-Gray-Plastic-Patio-Raised-Garden-Bed-Kit-with-Watering-System-and-Casters-2346D/301298664 – serves a few purposes; keeps pots raised about 3" off the bottom letting excess water drain into a big reservoir & lets air circulate under the pots evaporating that water quicker. Also, you can do a Flush right there without removing plants if you have a pump or similar to remove all the water afterward. Don’t use the wheels to keep it lower…
Thanks again for all your content!
