Did they just make Delta-8 illegal in Texas?

The Texas Department of State Health Services updated their website last week to clarify that Delta-8 is actually illegal in Texas, much to the surprise of users, possessors, and sellers. So a word of caution to all D8 users, it is a felony level offense, so beware.

Please continue to dive deeper. I don’t personally understand how they can outlaw it like this when they tried and failed to do so in Texas Congress over this summer.

I’m just reading this today. 4 months after video has been posted, and I can definitely guarantee shops in Texas are still selling them. Gas stations and all

Yeah I found out yesterday when I went to my dispensary. I was so pissed off. Where the hell are the petitions at? This is so dumb and I have to agree with my grandmother on this, alcohol and tobacco are completely legal but are way worse than marijuana. People just need to get off their high horse and just accept that we want to get high. Whether they Ban it or not people are still going to smoke it. There’s tons of different ways to get it illegally. Like for real dude I wish they put this much fucking efforts in the War on Drugs when it comes to fentanyl, crack and other opiates polluting our neighborhoods.. our damn prison systems are overrun with tons of innocent inmates with only marijuana possession charges with no priors, people be doing hard time just for grass! Yes they did change the law to where you only get a fine for carrying under 2 grams, anything above is considered a felony. However for people like me we weren’t so fortunate, we did not get grandfathered into the new law nor did all the other people who were convicted of possession of marijuana in the state of Texas before that bill was passed. We have the harshest laws against marijuana use and it doesn’t make no sense. Even if they ban it there still a perfectly running system that everybody’s accustomed to (ie 10 dollars for a G, no taxes) and it’s only going to push people more and more closer to the wrong side of the black market as users try to get their hands on marijuana. The only problem with this is that it’s not regulated and there’s these dealers/growers that will cut corners. Some of them just do Shady tactics such as using harmful chemicals to Aid in the drying process of bud. Not only is this bad for your health but there’s no regulations on how much a grower can use. People in the game are just greedy and will do anything to make a quick profit either that cutting Corners or being just overall hateful by getting their clients addicted by lacing it (spice/ k2)… There’s so much potential with this wonder drug, it’s just frustrating how they’re not putting it to use like other states are doing.
