I’m not interested in tissue culture (yet), but I want to try starting orchids from seed and this is a great starting point for handling sterile media and seeds outside of a laboratory

  2. Christopher Jones on September 29, 2023 at 9:57 pm

So how long does it take for the tissue to form into a plant with roots? Comparing this to Cloning.

I just found this video and at first I thought you were going to show ppl how to grow tissues..like the sneezing and blowing your nose type. I like plants but what’s the purpose of tissue planting? Is it the fun of cloning the plant or do you do something with them afterwards? Just an honest friendly question 🙂

Thank you, your attention to detail & simplified short cuts are truly inspiring along with your enthusiasm in doing something you enjoy,
I grow a huge amount of perennial & annual garden plants & this year I bought in some tissue cultured delphinium & my knowledge in this is..& was limited but truly find your explanation a joy & considering setting up some basic laboratory myself. I currently have a ever growing collection let alone the ones I sell, it’s such fun & I have so many happy plants & ever more happy customers… 11 years in & so different from my training in carpentry..
Keep up the good work & love your posts, thank you 🌻

This tutorial was amazing!! I just had one question, how do you clean your equipment after using the PGR’s? I noticed you said never put any of the waste down the drain, so how do you clean your large glass container where you mixed the media? Thank you!!

  21. serotonin💛🎮 on September 29, 2023 at 10:25 pm

Hello, Can I ask you if there is a good alternative for murashige and skoog that is affordable for high school students like me? Coz most of the Murashige and Skoog I found online cost a lot more than my group’s budget and we really are having a hard time to find an affordable one

  22. Nitos on September 29, 2023 at 10:25 pm

Could you make a video of making Keiki paste using BAP6 (benzylamino purine) , and GA3 please. I want to do it to generate tons of buds in my cacti. 🌵

  23. jay v on September 29, 2023 at 10:30 pm

  24. Gabriel Sitanggang on September 29, 2023 at 10:30 pm

Can we use this method for plant with wood, as example citrus, mango, etc

  25. Chemicalvamp on September 29, 2023 at 10:31 pm

I bought that exact same scale from amazon, i returned it because it did not register 300 milligrams at all. The only reason i knew that weight was because a friend gave me hers.

  28. john smith on September 29, 2023 at 10:34 pm

WOW. Great video thanks! Interested in mycology and building a laminar flow hood..this will be a brilliant skill for my food forest propagation. Nice of you to share this information.

  29. Apartment Gardener on September 29, 2023 at 10:35 pm

what about GA3 is it also unsafe like BAP?

  30. Brad on September 29, 2023 at 10:35 pm

How long can plants be stored in tissue culture without sub-culturing or propagating? My 30 year old Master Kush clone needs a new take on life.

  31. Dr. Thimoteo De Almeida on September 29, 2023 at 10:36 pm

Awesome video. Is it possible to clone palm trees using this technique?

  32. Concordio Flores on September 29, 2023 at 10:37 pm

Can I have the list of all inredoents or chemicals use in tissue culture?

  33. Bob Hope on September 29, 2023 at 10:38 pm

I am a hobbyist plant breeder. What I really would like to be able to do is embryo and ovule culture. Finding your channel has me thinking it could be in the realm of possibility.

  34. Abdullah Al Noman on September 29, 2023 at 10:39 pm

Can I do mushroom tissue culture following this technology?

  35. Humble Confidence on September 29, 2023 at 10:40 pm

This video was very well put together. Thank you!

  36. Christo Coombe on September 29, 2023 at 10:42 pm

Look like you make more plastics than you have plants…..not very green 😢

  37. Andrew Alvarez on September 29, 2023 at 10:42 pm

Microbiologist here. fun fact, when you use anything that does not reach autoclavable temperature, you will be selecting for spore forming microbes of the bacillus genus. The spores can survive extremes temperatures and can be very nasty and make you sick.

  38. Laydle on September 29, 2023 at 10:43 pm

    I smell underground mycology… I like it

  39. Austin Noftz on September 29, 2023 at 10:44 pm

I do not recommend cloning plants. In the wrong environment and in the wrong circumstances like by or around the wrong people natural order finds if disrespectful and offensive. I do not think you are capable of making those decisions. I am, but others are not. 🖕

  40. Partha Saha on September 29, 2023 at 10:44 pm

Absolutely awesome!! You are an inspiration to amature botanists like me who always wished but missed the courage to start such a project. At 56 you have inspired me to start tissue culture for my regenerative farming particularly medicinal plants projet in India.

Thanks for this awesome work you’ve put together. Sorry you got injured. For anyone who will be using scalpels, I highly recommend using a needle driver to place and remove the scalpel from the handle.
