I previously said LED headlights flash 20x a second, but after looking at my sec cams again, brake lights flash slowly between 2-4 times a second, and headlights are variable. Some flash slow/long at 4-10x per second, but most are 24-48x per second. That might seem unnoticeable but the brain sees it. That means they flash brighter to maintain the same amount of light as an older standard incandescent bulb.
They should be outlawed. BMW and Lexus have some of the worst. Those purple and blue piles of dog crap lights.
    Ouch!

Thank you for that balanced review. I am a church pastor and am often called out at night, and I do find the glare of oncoming headlights distracting. I heard about night vision glasses, and so I tried to do some research, but it is heavily weighted by advertising. Anyway I thought I had nothing to lose by buying a cheap pair. I found these made no difference, and wondered if the more you pay, the more effective the product. What are your thoughts? ( In the UK prices range from £7,99 to £59.99.)

  3. Mark Schneider on March 31, 2023 at 1:49 am

I came looking for the video because as I’ve gotten older, I’m way more sensitive to these new LED lights. It adds to the stress of night driving, so I wasn’t expecting to see "better", just be less annoyed with rude drivers.

  4. C. Thomas on March 31, 2023 at 1:50 am

Is it just the generic yellow tint that gives the effect, or is there something special about "official" tint, besides polarized?

  5. Mosaic on March 31, 2023 at 1:51 am

    Those aren’t even night vision…

  6. AyeJayCee on March 31, 2023 at 1:52 am

Testing night glasses in a simulator is terrible science. Whether it’s a projection screen or a regular screen it’s never going to reproduce the dynamic range of driving in the real world with real lights shining in your face.

Personally I don’t use night driving glasses at night I find them more helpful on overcast days where there’s not much visible light but the uv which still penetrating the clouds is causing your pupils to constrict regardless. In these situations blocking that uv and allowing your pupils to adjust properly to visible light levels is what these yellow glasses do best in my experience

I’m a forklift driver and these are a lifesaver thank you so much

  8. rawmilk mike on March 31, 2023 at 1:55 am

I absolutely love a set of well focused warm LED headlights. But what’s been going on is that people buy the headlights because they think a certain color looks cool even if that means they can’t see s*** at night. They also don’t focus them properly. And then there are the drivers that don’t care what their headlights look like, whether they’re on high or low, whether they’re aiming at the moon or the shoulder of the road.

  9. Jerzy Czaja Szwajcer on March 31, 2023 at 1:55 am

Yo if yer comp was polarized en those lenses also you would have seen black screen

  10. Konichisan on March 31, 2023 at 1:55 am

    Breaking Bad Mexico filter 🤣

  11. Edwarbr on March 31, 2023 at 1:56 am

I believe race cars used yellow headlights during endurance races, because the human eye can see better with yellow light than white. Now, I am not talking about brightness. I am just referencing that the human eye sees some colors better than others. The driving glasses just remove the colors that are causing a glare effect in our eyes.

  12. Raja Sharma on March 31, 2023 at 1:57 am

The only way is to have brighter light in our cars.

  13. standollar on March 31, 2023 at 2:01 am

I will take the overall slight darkening because personally I appreciate the reduction in glare and color correction from those obnoxious blue headlights.

  14. Eddie A on March 31, 2023 at 2:01 am

I can’t be on the road with other cars that have those darned LED headlights on them. When they are in the opposite lane and pointed in my direction, they completely blind me.

  15. Andres Maluy on March 31, 2023 at 2:05 am

The Best option would be polarized lenses without any tint or color, perhaps blue light filter, the same used for computer working. i’m not a doctor but have many years in lighting business…

How can I reduce my tummy in 7 days?

  17. PORRIDGE GUN on March 31, 2023 at 2:12 am

I find the Amber polarized good during the day, sunny or cloudy. I used to wear yellow goggles when flying and they reduced eyestrain and cut through haze

  18. AKIL Khan on March 31, 2023 at 2:13 am

    This glass is not effective,

  20. Jacques Treehorn on March 31, 2023 at 2:14 am

The red tint is the best for farmers, foresters, & wetland delineators. It helps see areas of vegetation that are getting more water. No joke. Try it.

  21. otahu Rice on March 31, 2023 at 2:14 am

Blue lens safety glass’s cut glare at night time also.

  22. Liberty DIY on March 31, 2023 at 2:14 am

Yellow glasses help tremendously to defend yourself from the blinding cool-white of modern oncoming headlights. It is terrible that manufacturers use 6500K cool white color temp. They should be using ~3500K, it improves depth perception versus 6500K, reduces glare off fog on your windshield, fog in the air and light skimming off wet surfaces. Blue light causes the iris to constrict and elderly drivers suffer the most because their eyes take longer to dilate after the blinding light has passed. You can also blind yourself with blue light when it bounces of road signs and takes some time for your iris to dilate afterward.

  23. Matthew Valadez on March 31, 2023 at 2:16 am

My eye doctor said my eyes are fine and the same prescription yet I have a hard time seeing at night still. And when I wear sunglasses during the day its more blurry yet they said I’m still fine. I dont get it

  24. Haunted_AtticTV on March 31, 2023 at 2:18 am

I have cataracts in both eyes and these specific glasses seems to help the glare from oncoming cars at night

  25. ade rizki on March 31, 2023 at 2:18 am

    Yeah, I hate LED lights.

  26. pájaro torres huariche on March 31, 2023 at 2:19 am

Son buenos en realidad ayudan bastante

  27. Liberty DIY on March 31, 2023 at 2:22 am

Also it is critical to dim our own ridiculous blinding blue cockpit lights when driving at night, it helps a lot.

  28. kmsbanr on March 31, 2023 at 2:23 am

the new LED white and blue lights are supremely dangerous for drivers as they age. If I still got migraines I’d be sick every time I drove at night. I was driver trained to look to the right with oncoming bright headlight glare which works except with the white and blue lights. They absolutely blind me so I may go off the road, I have to actually slow down. Tall vehicles and the new auto high beam adjusters are too slow also. I’m an excellent driver but this has made driving at night on 2 lane roads an extremely unpleasant experience. Since I live in the country I’m forced to put up with it when I must go out at night. I was going to get new glasses and this was what I was going to ask for now I feel there is no hope. I already have anti-glare and reflective lenses.:(

  29. MasterofPlay7 on March 31, 2023 at 2:24 am

lol i wear my sunglasses the high beam blinds me

  30. J on March 31, 2023 at 2:25 am

Thanks for this review! U have tried ‘night driving glasses’ and thought I may be missing something as I didn’t really notice a difference. I appreciate your clarification and info!

  31. Greg Hill on March 31, 2023 at 2:26 am

I wonder if excessive use of smart phone before driving and during long stops effect my nighttime vision??

  32. chanakya on March 31, 2023 at 2:27 am

Please suggest some glasses to reduce glare and brightness while driving at night , the main problem is when I drive at night i can’t see my road whenever some other vehicle come opposite to me

  33. SJ187 on March 31, 2023 at 2:28 am

Wearing yellow lens glasses during a hiking trip in the woods makes it easier to see your way around at night

  34. Emil Tochilovsky on March 31, 2023 at 2:28 am

Hesitate to drive at night because of those LED’s. Driving a sedan makes it even worse

  35. Futeramon futuramet on March 31, 2023 at 2:28 am

I feel like the night driving glasses are more placebo effect than actually medically cleared.

  36. José G on March 31, 2023 at 2:30 am

Can you recommend glasses for glare of snow and sun…
I have RP – any suggestions on color tint & I would like a lite tint (not to dark)

  37. J B on March 31, 2023 at 2:30 am

talk to me when your 50 plus.

  38. test account on March 31, 2023 at 2:31 am

Is there something that’s clear that just blocks the led headlights and or light that is above a specific light level the new leds are way to bright and is like looking at the sun. like on my new car I use the daytime running lights at night because the normal headlights are brighter then my girlfriends brights.

  39. jkeaty2 on March 31, 2023 at 2:31 am

Being Brain injured from many years ago, I am Migraine prone. I am also light sensitive. But with that said, I have tried these type of glasses.
I live on an old US highway that has long stretches of low light, with proper headlights, you can drive these roads fine. But there are many people that do not know how to drive without using their brights.

I tried these once before, but I had expected them to improve night vision, which of course they did not, as they do not allow more light to enter the eye. But I had noticed that bright streetlights were tamped down a bit. But the tint on this pair was too dark to adequately use at night. I chose the lighter tint, so it just barely turns the most obnoxious LED Blue headlights, and turns them more of a yellowish tint (like Warm White Incandecent). I find that after getting blasted by the idiots in the oncoming lanes running their brights at all times, I am not struggling with pindots for pupils in my eyes. These things actually work, in that they make driving at night more comfortable. Just use a light yellow tint.

  41. bob lane on March 31, 2023 at 2:36 am

Thank you for providing some very useful and informative videos. Clearly spoken and an energetic calmness. Good work.
I use non polarized (inexpensive ) Yellow tint wrap around glasses and find my eyes are not as "tired" with nighttime driving. My first few times was a bit disorienting, non lighted objects and shadows looked brighter but detail of the object wasn’t clear.. Wearing sunglasses you expect dimming , but with yellow lens it’s brighter but not . A bit of mind trickery. Definitely is very helpful with all street lighting and the Dreaded high-beam LED headlights. Pre sun-up, heavy to light overcast, and early evening to night things as I said " appear brighter ". The LED headlights are a significant improvement for driving light to moderate traffic . But they are very glaring , annoying , and painful from on coming and behind traffic.

22 test subjects? I eat more cookies in a day, kind of a small sample size??

  43. Addy Bd on March 31, 2023 at 2:38 am

    Nice eyes color

  44. Robert Bachman on March 31, 2023 at 2:38 am

Now we all know this is a personal preference, but a CLEAR lenses with AR coating works better than yellow lenses…….It is not possible to 100 % eliminate night glare….

  45. exkalibur25ca on March 31, 2023 at 2:40 am

I have EBMD in my right eye (though I wish it was in my left only so I could say my sinister eye…). I find these glasses to be a god send. They don’t do much to enhance the overall image, but they do an amazing job at cutting down the dazzle of oncoming lights. Specifically when driving in the dark on wet roads. Oncoming vehicles’ headlights blow out my vision with the glare and reflection on the road. "blue blocking" glasses do a very good job knocking that down enough that it isn’t really an issue for me.

  46. Mishal on March 31, 2023 at 2:42 am

Anyone know what is the material of that yellow glass?

  47. Night Pandas on March 31, 2023 at 2:43 am

Isn’t the obvious study limitation that it was a driving simulator?? Sounds like a completely useless comparison to me

  48. Most Guitars Wins on March 31, 2023 at 2:44 am

I’ve lived in states where cars needed to be inspected every year and that included checking that the headlights were aimed properly. There’s are no inspection requirement where I am now and so no incentive for people to use headlights that are legal or to have them aimed by a licensed "lamp adjuster". There’s also the matter of high beam use which isn’t always responsible. As for the yellow tinted glasses I’ve not found them helpful unfortunately.

  49. Mary Jane Manson on March 31, 2023 at 2:46 am

I am inclined to believe the majority of light sensitivity & glare issues which cause eye discomfort stem from dry eye caused by dehydration, overexposure to UV light from smartphone & tqblet displays / computer monitors / tv screens / etc. and not taking frequent / long enough breaks from the unblinking stare at electronic devices.

  50. Samarie on March 31, 2023 at 2:46 am

Unfortunately there was no link to the eye glasses you’re wearing in this video. Can you please send me the link to purchase the exact ones? There’s Link, but they’re not the same lenses. Thx
