'Hidden Lake' owner finds her 120-acre event venue in Buckeye underwater

Clean-up is underway at the “Hidden Lake” event venue after water released from a nearby dam caused thousands of dollars in damage. Workers at the venue, located right off the Gila River, now race against the clock as weekend events quickly approach. A recent release of an SRP dam sent the water levels rising, causing flooding. Water spread across the 120-acre property is a first.

Oh no. Someone wants to blame everyone else for nature happening. After seeing this bish complaining, I will never patronize her business. Some people have no common sense.

  5. @ostrich67 on February 7, 2024 at 5:31 am

  6. @christaylor4477 on February 7, 2024 at 5:32 am

She didn’t even take a minute to thank the people who donated their time for free to help. Instead she tried to advertise her business. Classy.

  7. @hkstephenson6991 on February 7, 2024 at 5:33 am

You build where you know this can happen and have the nerve to go on camera and you cry about it? this is nothing compared to what many people are dealing with so be quiet.

  8. @rimc8783 on February 7, 2024 at 5:35 am

Stop crying you purchased land in a flood zone!

And of course she starts an online fund raiser begging for money to make repairs. Wonder if she’ll split profits with those who donate.

  11. @zAlaska on February 7, 2024 at 5:38 am

Same thing happens in China. G4 everywhere and yet they can’t send a warning text before they open the gates. And they’ve closed the gates now that the damage is done. Was it necessary as in to open the gates so wide? An emergency response reply button, do the police dispatch have contact with those controlling the water flow?

Of course not. Can they turn on the cameras at the cell towers observing the river Downstream so they can operate most efficiently while avoiding catastrophe when possible to do so.

They don’t make these decisions lightly instantly. Good texting of the time a release will occur and What proportion in cubic feet can be expected. There ought to be an app for that and a few sirens especially near recreational areas. With the current power generation Revenue Surplus, today is a good time to invest.

“Act of God”? I thought it was SRP who opened the Dam? I thought it was only in their minds they consider themselves to be gods.

  38. @yttrailerparknews on February 7, 2024 at 6:11 am

I don’t even live in a flood zone and I carry flood insurance because you just never know. Why in the world would you set up a venue like that in a flood zone. I realize it’s very rare but nonetheless it’s a flood zone.
